Y/N's jaw dropped as she stared at Laurel.
"You're fucking kidding me." Y/N snapped, slamming her book close. "You and Tommy are in this aren't you? You guys are sick." She sneered.
"No, I'm serious." Laurel said, shaking her head. "He's back."
Y/N just glared. "I'll believe it when I see it." She said.
Laurel came from Starling to Central City to tell Y/N that her past lover, Oliver Queen, was back.
"Get out." Y/N said, turning away.
"Please, he wants—"
"I could give less shits." Y/N seethed, "You of all people should know that I hate him."
"I-I... I just thought—I thought that you would want to know—" Laurel began.
"Oh. I know." Y/N glared daggers into the book she was holding.
Oliver Queen news has been all over the place when he came back.
She could never escape it. She was constantly reminded that he in fact, was alive. So much so that he didn't even bother to tell her anything. No phone call. No messages. No texts. Not even a letter.
A part of her wanted to believe that he was just scared and still loved her.
But most of her just sneered at the thought.
The naive, stupid thought.
"Leave, Laurel." Y/N said, coldly. "I want to forget as much of my Starling life as possible."
She has just been clean.
Not of drugs, but of violence,
She hasn't beaten up anybody for a whole 4 months. And frankly, Y/N was proud.
Her self control was getting better.
And Laurel could ruin all of that.
"C'mon, Y/N." Laurel tried, "Oliver misses you, his stubborn ass, and he's not doing so well."
A silence enveloped them.
"He's... Changed." Laurel whispered.
Y/N turned around, furious.
"Get. Out." She spat.
Laurel frowned at her failed attempt.
"Fine." Laurel hesitated. "But if you need me, I'll be where you'll find me."
Laurel stepped out, just as Y/N slammed the door at Laurel's face.
How dare she come back into her life and ruin it? Y/N thought, still fuming. After all these years of building back from her depressed past and heartbreak, she comes back and expects me to forget?
Y/N almost wanted to rip apart her whole apartment.
"Control..." Y/N muttered as she walked to her bedroom. "Just breathe."
And she allowed the soft plush consume her to sleep.
_____
Y/N woke up, sensing something was wrong, she immediately shot up.
A blur was in the corner of her room, leaving through the open apartment window, leaving the curtains rustling.
Y/N her senses tingling, worried that the thief might've stole the something.
She started checking and scanning every possible valuable, but everything that meant something to her was still, safe.
Sighing, she ran her fingers down her shirt, smoothing it out as she noticed it ruffled.
Just as she was about to get out of the room, the bell rang, startling Y/N again.
Grumbling about her being too jumpy, she swung the door open.
Outside was a blonde, tall guy with the misty green eyes and a hopeful smile, holding a bouquet of her favorite flowers.
Oliver.
Oliver Queen.
Y/N slammed the door shut, gasping and pinching herself from this god awful nightmare.
It was real.
Oliver Queen is right outside her door. Pounding and begging her to open up, never less.
"C'mon, Y/N! Please! I didn't know what I was thinking!" Oliver said from the other side. "I was stupid, I'm dumb, the neighbors are coming out, you don't want that do you?"
Y/N held her breath, trying really hard find something to throw at him, she took a deep breath.
If you let him in, there's not turning back. A little voice in her brain warned.
Oh shut up. She silenced.
Taking another deep breath, she found herself looking in her hallway mirror to check her appearance.
Her hair was messy, in a rumpled shirt and short, showing off her bare legs which she haven't shaved for days.
Why do I care? She mumbled in her mind.
Then, swinging open the door, she grabbed his wrist and dragged him in.
"Whoa— at least take me out first—" He joked.
"Why are you here?" She snapped.
He raised his eyebrows, walking away from her.
"Don't walk away from me!" Y/N huffed.
Oliver put the bouquet on the coffee table before sitting down. "I came to say sorry."
"That's it?" She wrinkled her nose, slightly disappointed and disgusted.
"No... I came to also hope that you will take me back—"
He was cut off by her sarcastic snort.
"Yeah, sure." She huffed.
"Please... I'm a changed man, I have a stable job, I have a home, I can take care of myself, I'm not the reckless idiot you dated back then—"
"So you admit you are a idiot?" She asked, smiling a little.
"Were." He corrected.
"You still are, dumbass."
He frowned, the sighing before continuing on. "The point is, I can do better. For you, I can give you what you always deserved. All I need is a second chance."
"Wow, you sound so professional. It almost fooled me." Y/N deadpanned.
"I'm not asking for you to immediately date me, I'm just asking you to be my... Friend again." Oliver seemed nauseous when he said the word friend.
"Is that it?" Y/N said, narrowing her eyes. "You think those words can convince me to be your friend again? You died, Oliver. DIED. I cried over you. I wasted mascara! The fact that you cheated on me with my friend make me sick. It wasn't you died, it was more over the fact that I wasn't good enough for you to not cheat..." Her voice cracked.
Oliver got up and wrapped his large arms around her body, pulling her into a hug.
"I hated you. You made me feel like shit." Y/N cried, smacking him. "But I also was sad that you where gone. Maybe if I stopped you, then I wouldn't have found out you cheated, that you wouldn't have died, that I—"
"Don't say that. I was a stupid idiot. I was reckless. The island changed me. I can do better now, I am better." Oliver said, "just let me show you. You deserved better. I'm better now. Just give me a second chance."
"Just one." Y/N warned, pressing her finger into his chest, pulling away from him.
"Just one." Oliver nodded.
Y/N looked wary, but slightly happy.
"You have one chance, new best friend." Y/N sent him a small smile.
"That's all I need." Oliver promised, returning the smile.
