Romantic (Bruce Wayne x Reader)
Bruce slammed the door shut as he shrug off his jacket, throwing it on the hanger.
"Bruce! Listen to me! You can't just walk away!" Y/N yelled.
"Shut up! I don't care. Take over the fucking company, I don't give a flying fuck!"
Y/N is Bruce's assistant, helping him manage the company. Bruce had a horrible night, not gathering the information he needed from the joker, and he was not in the mood for Y/N's hearing about her files and things he needed to do.
He just walked out of another management issue and Y/N was fed up.
This was the 9th time he did this.
9th.
Y/N glared at the back of Bruce's head as he walked into his office.
"You can't keep doing this, Bruce." Y/N sighed.
"I know, I just... I just had a bad night." Bruce admitted, sitting down on his chair, resting his head in between his hands.
Y/N's hard expression softened. "You could have just told me that." She chuckled a little. "We could always do the things tomorrow." She slipped on top of the desk, putting her hand on his shoulder to reassure him.
Bruce looked up, sending Y/N grateful look.
"But what you can't avoid is Mr. Lex's invitation to his party." Y/N sighed, waving the letter in between his fingers. "You need this partnership."
Bruce groan, inwardly. "Yeah, yeah. I know." He grumbled.
"Good, because you're picking me up at 6." Y/N said, sliding off his desk.
Bruce smirked a little. "And I thought I would be the one to ask you out." He teased.
Y/N flushed, "Shut up."
______
Bruce looked back at the mirror for one last time, then stepping out into blinding streets.
Y/N wore a simple deep blue dress that reached her ankles, while a flashing diamond neckless blinked in the light.
"Ready?" Bruce asked, seeing Y/N fidget on the seams.
"Yeah... It's just my first time." Y/N admitted, looking paparazzi.
"Just don't answer any questions." Bruce said.
She nodded, as Bruce opened the door.
Just as her hand was about to open the door, Bruce opened, being the gentleman he always is.
Immediately, words and rumors came sprouting out of people's mouths.
"Mr. Wayne, are you and your assistant having an affair?"
"Ms. L/N, are you planning to take over the company?"
"Are you guys secretly dating?"
"Marry me, Bruce!"
Y/N smiled, nervously, tucking behind a stray hair behind her ear.
Bruce squeezed Y/N's arm, reassuringly. She sent him a grateful smile and squeezed back.
Once they entered the building, He felt Y/N let go of his hands. Feeling slightly disappointed at the action, he tucked his hands awkwardly in his tux pockets.
Inside was buzzing with chatter as the orchestra played softly in the background.
Bruce didn't want to be here.
Yet here he was.
He grabbed a small champagne glass before meeting Lex Luthor's eye from across the room.
Great.
When he came over to greet Bruce, he spotted Y/N.
Great.
"Mr. Luthor, miss. And you?" Bruce watched, stiffly as Lex shook Y/N's hand a little too touchy.
"Y/N, Y/N L/N." She said, politely.
"Are you and Bruce here, dating?" Lex asked, bluntly.
"Um—N—"
"Yes." Bruce said, looping his arm around her waist. "We are."
Y/N shot him a questioning look.
"That's nice." Lex said, smiling so fake, it could be barbie's smile. "Excuse me while I go greet other guest."
Once the man left, Y/N turned to look at Bruce, raising a eyebrow.
"I wasn't aware that we are dating." Y/N said, smirking a little.
"We are now." Bruce said, gruffly. His arm led her away from the crowd.
"Ever the romantic, are you Bruce?" Y/N mused, chuckling.
"Shut up." Bruce muttered, blushing a little.
Y/N just smirked. "And strangely, I'm okay with that."
