No Response (Pietro Maximoff x Reader)
The tall building was literally planted in the middle of nowhere. It was horrible. The humid air around them didn't make things a lot better as they swatted away flies and stepped over tree trunks.
"Are you sure we're here?" Y/N asked, glancing over Pietro's shoulder to se his map.
"Well I don't see any other random buildings in the jungle." Pietro replied.
Y/N ignored his snarky reply and loaded the huge gun she had on her back. "So, you plant the bomb." She said.
"And you cause the distraction." Pietro finished.
She smiled, "Glad we're on the same page."
Pietro sent a quick smile, "You look hot when you are badass." He said before disappearing in a silver blur into the building.
Y/N blew a piece of hair out of her face as she steadied her cannon to the shiny window that reflect the clear blue sky.
When her finger pulled the trigger, the canon shot up and a large explosion followed as she could feel the heat on her face as she smirked. Soldiers scrambled around and she could make out a silver blue running into the building.
On the bottom of the seemingly small building, there was a secret basement-like thing that kept some soldiers and good supplies. The bomb was going to detonate the entire area.
The explosion that she caused wasn't enough to to crash the entire building but it was enough to disturb it.
"Pietro, how's it looking." She said into the earpiece.
"You know, blood, people, the 'hail hydra' bullshit." He said, casually.
She chuckled at the last comment. "I never understood why they choose that as their last words. Was it on the terms and agreements?"
"I think being a asshole was on it also." Pietro commented. She could hear a fight in the background.
Y/N lit a grenade and threw it across the barbed wire fence. Then, hearing a explosion go off, she grinned and lit another one.
The flying dirt and soldiers made the scene much more fun.
"I got it." He said, abruptly. "The bomb is there and I'm running."
"You're always running." She said, rolling her eyes even though he can't see her.
Pietro didn't answer.
"Pietro?" She asked. "Pietro."
There was a explosion again, but this time it was in the earpiece.
"Pietro, say something." She said, almost desperate. "Pietro, what was that?"
Shooting down some soldiers she watched as they try to find her as she sat in the tree watching the area for any sings of the silver blur.
She heard coughing.
"I'm good, j-just some solder shot a bazooka." He muttered something in Sokovian.
"You scared me." She said, smiling a little. She continued to shoot some soldiers down. "Get out of there, now."
"Yeah, about that." He said.
A sick feeling made its way down to her stomach. "What?" She demanded.
"That idiot who shot the bazooka made a chunk of rock land on my foot and I'm pretty sure it's broken under the cement." He said.
She muttered some curse words. "But the bomb has a timer in it." She said, suddenly realizing what was going on. "I'm going to get you out of there." She said, getting out of the tree.
"No, you'll never make it. You'll just die in vain." He said.
"Pietro, I-I can't just d-do nothing." Her voice faltered. Tears were racking up. The worst part was that she can't see him again to tell him that she actually liked his cocky attitude.
"Yeah well, tell the girl of my dreams that I love her." He said, chuckling.
She swallowed the lump in her throat. "Y-Yeah? Who's that?"
"You."
There was a silence as she didn't know how to respond.
But the explosion killed him off before she could, making her run off to the jet, crying.
