Missed You (Stephen Strange x Angel!Reader)

Stephen shuffled his feet, anxious to meet the new guest. The temple recently made contact with some other magic in the world and they were visiting. He was told to be on his best behavior. All he knew was if they had power to 'visit' they were really powerful.
He felt the heat of the sun beating down on them as everyone around him shuffled nervously.
Then, a portal opened up. Unlike the usual blue and gold tint around the edge of the portal, it was silver sparks. On the other side of the portal was a lush green garden.
3 figures were blurry but when they stepped through the portal, the courtyard lit with a faint glow.
Stephen has seen plenty of beautiful people in his life, as he lived a very rich life himself. But these people blew everyone out of the water.
Standing in the center was a tall Asian male with short black hair with creamy skin and a usual set of grey eyes. He had sharp cheekbones and a defined jawline. Behind him sat a pair of grey feathered wings.
Next to him was a equally gorgeous male with cocoa brown creamy skin and rust brown eyes. His lack of hair didn't make him any less beautiful. He had a set of white wings dipped in copper around the tips.
The last figure was a female. She had flawless skin and h/c hair that looked like it was styled for a magazine photoshoot instead of the dingy courtyard she was in. Like the others, she had a pair of wings but hers was a stark white with the end turning into a raven black. Her eyes sparkled a e/c under her lashes.
"Hello." The grey-eyed boy. All of them bowed their heads in union.
Everything about the people were perfect. It was inhuman and unnatural.
"Hello." the Ancient One greeted them back. "Welcome to Earth."
"It's nice to be here." The dark-skinned make said, smiling. His copper rust eyes scanned the people behind him.
"Sorcerers, these people are from the planet Asteroida. They are angels and are our guest." The Ancient One introduced them.
When they smiled in greeting, he could hear everyone's heart skip a beat.
"Hello, Sorcerers. I am Reese. We use to come to earth." The Asian guy said. "And this is Owen and Y/N." (I swear to fucking lord that I meant to fandom references and you guys need to chill.)
They were soon being rushed out of the courtyard but Stephen caught a glance at one of the Angels and their white robes. Y/N met his gaze, not turning her head.
_______
Dinner was eventful. Everyone was talking about them. Stephen didn't care to make friends so he just took his dinner to his room with a book under his arm. He stuck a bread roll in between his teeth as he stared at his soup, making sure not to spill.
When he turned the corner, he ran into a person. The hot soup went flying out of his hands.
"Sorry." Said a female voice.
Stephen watched as his food was suspended in the air before he met the persons gaze. Thats when he knew he fucked up. It was one of the guest.
The food slowly came back to his tray as she smiled, sheepishly.
"I ran into you, I should be the one saying sorry." He said, trying to apologize. He knew he can't fuck up this chance when he finally got excepted to be the Ancient Ones apprentice.
"But yet you aren't." She had a teasing smile on her lips as she raised a eyebrow.
Stephen bit his lip to contain a snarky reply.
Her light laugh filled the corridor as she grinned. "I'm teasing. The cafeteria is over there." She said, pointing to the hallway behind him.
"I know." Stephen said, beginning to walk away.
"Then why aren't you going that way? Do you not have any friends? Do they all bully you?" She asked.
Stephen wanted to glare at the girl but he ignored her.
"Or are you meeting them somewhere?" She walked alongside him.
"I'm going to my room." Stephen said, hoping to get rid of the guest. She was getting on his nerves.
"So you are alone?" Y/N watched his reaction.
Stephen refused to crack. He wondered if she was testing him. If she was, he can not fail now.
"I prefer to study." He answered, calmly.
"Are you one of those types?" She asked. Stephen didn't know where she was asking these questions but she wanted to shove them down her pretty throat. "Are you a nerd?"
"I like studying." He said.
"So you are a nerd." She mused.
"Maybe I'm just smart." He snapped, cracking. "Unlike someone else."
But instead of a offended look on her face, she laughed lightly.
"Or maybe you're just boring." She suggested, handing back the insult.
Stephen watched as she was unfazed by his insult earlier. "Then why are you still here? No ones begging for you to stay."
Her lips tipped upwards, her smile was illuminating and gorgeous. "True, but I feel like it would get a lot more interesting later."
Stephen felt a rush of anger to his brain. She was planning to disrupt his studying by bothering him and he can't do anything about it because she was the guest.
"When are you guys leaving?" He asked.
"I'm not leaving that easily." She said.
When they arrived at his room, she walked in. And with the wave of her hand, all his messy clothes began to fold themselves. She snapped her fingers, all the lights came on.
"You are really messy." She observed.
"I don't have time for that useless things." Stephen said, setting down his food. But he realized it was already cold. Frowning, he tried to do a simple heating spell.
But after 5 fails, he gave up and slurped the soup, cold. When his lips touched the liquid, it was boiling hot. He let out a surprised yelp.
When he heard a chuckle behind him, he knew that it was not a coincidence.
Y/N smiled, innocently at him when he glared at her.
______
It was the same torture every night. Y/N would bother him and tease him when he couldn't do the spells correctly. Being the perfect bitch she was, she did them all perfectly.
And every time, Stephen would glare at her only to revive a innocent smile back.
But when he showed up one night with her no where in sight, he began to feel worried. It felt different with the silence hanging in his room with no light laughter to fill it as it usually did.
He knew the answer when he went back to the cafeteria to grab more water. Maybe he hoped to see Y/N.
There, in the middle table of the room, sat Y/N. She was perched up with the rest of his peers surrounding her. Her other two angel friends were next to her.
Stephen didn't blame them. The guest look like statues, perfectly carved out. Especially with them surrounded by his peers, they look liked they were being worshipped.
When he caught the gaze of her, relief flooded to her face. She stepped away from the rest of the people to make her way to Stephen.
He felt a unfamiliar butterflies erupt from his stomach as his brain turned fuzzy. And when she smiled, he suddenly felt dizzy. All he could focus on was her.
"You weren't in your room earlier so I came here." She said, lacing her arm through his. He could inhale her flowery clean scent. It was intoxicating.
"I came late." He said.
"I thought you probably ditched me or something. Thank god you're still here, I don't really want to see fake people today." She confessed. "This is why I hate coming to Earth."
Stephen dully remembered when everyone use to adore him because he was a rich surgeon. It was infuriating and annoying.
"I can understand." He said.
She raised a perfect eyebrow. "Where are your snappy comments?" She asked.
"Where are your annoying questions?" He shot back.
She grinned, sending him another flurry of butterflies in his stomach. Stephen didn't know what was happening but all he felt was this feeling that only made him want more.
