Steve smiled up at Y/N, who was talking to Bucky.

Steve always had a crush on Y/N, Bucky always teased him.

Steve always tried not to blush, just thinking of Y/N.

But he knew someone like Y/N would never like him.

Let's face it, Steve was short, scrawny, weak kid. Girls wanted muscle, something that Steve really lacked.

Y/N was tall with a perfect h/c hair and bright e/c eyes, perfect physically and personality-wise.

Steve wouldn't dare ask her out. He wouldn't dare ruin their friendship.

Bucky always tried to set them up together but that want happening, seeing that Y/N sees Steve as a need-protecting-kind of guy.

And Steve didn't want that.

But when he enrolled into the arm and he got recruited for a experiment, Y/N was showing concern.

"It's ok, Y/N." Steve reassured, hugging Y/N, trying really hard not to blush.

"What if you die?" She said, quietly.

"I'll be back." Steve said.

Bucky came up to them and whispered in Steve's ear "Now or never, Rodgers."

Steve took a deep breathe and looked up at Y/N, who was tilting her head to a side and look at him, confused.

Steve wanted to dig a hole and lay there, but he promised Bucky that he would tell her.

"I-I k-kind o-of l-like y-you." Steve chocked out, looking at Y/N nervously.

"Y-you like me?" She asked, staring at Steve, shocked.

"Y-yes." He squealed out, about to pee himself.

Y/N's face broke out into a grin and hugged Steve, "I like you too."

"Hurry Up Lovebirds!" Bucky called, "We got to go!"

Y/N poked a finger into Steve's chest, "Come back alive, soldier." She joked.

Steve grinned like a idiot and nodded and ran to the car.
