Cure (Tim Drake x Reader)
Bruce frowned as he glanced up on the screen and glanced back at the couple in the bench.
A dark pit sank down in a heart as he walked towards them.
Tim kissed Y/N's forehead as she shook her head and chuckled.
"Hey," Bruce walked up to them. "I got the results... and... it appears that you have jolts of electricity frying your insides—"
"Wait." Tim frowned, holding up a hand to signal him to stop talking. "So she's being burned from the inside?"
Bruce nodded, gravely.
"Is there a cure? Is she going to die? I'm going to kill that son of a bitc—"
"Stop." Y/N pressed her palm against her boyfriend's chest. "So, is there a cure? How much time do I have?" She asked.
Bruce shook his head. "Not much and there isn't a cure." He hesitated.
"What?" Tim demanded. "What is it?"
"There's a chance you could create a serum that—"
"Could stabilize her atom!" Tim grinned. "I could do this!"
"But that would take really advance nanotechnology." Bruce argued.
"Lex corps might have it." Tim grinned, cockily. "All I have to do is break in and steal some information in the database."
"Even if you do have that technology," Y/N pointed out. "And I don't have much time."
"No! I can do this, you have to trust me." He held her hands. "Just wait, I don't have time to waste." And he ran off down the bat cave corridor
"He's not going to make it." She shook her head. "Take care of him after I leave."
"I've been taking care of him for my whole life." Bruce snorted. "I got this." Bruce put a hand on her shoulder. "But are you going to be okay?"
She gave him a strained smiled. "Yeah, I just need some time to digest this."
Bruce nodded as she walked out.
_____
Tim hasn't slept in days. His room stunk and coffee littered all over. Slaving over the cure for Y/N.
Y/N draped a blanket over his shoulder as she glanced down on his screen.
"So I broke in and got some of the information and I might come of with something." Tim beamed at her. "I'm going to make it."
"You know I won't." She said. Y/N has been weak but she still tried to convince him to sleep and eat but he's a stubborn bitch.
"Stop saying that, I will do this and I can. I'm almost done." He smiled.
"I'm going to go grab something for us to eat." She sighed, walking out.
She walked out the room. Grabbing the loaf of break she cut the soft food. Touching fridge, a jolt of electricity crawled up her arm and sank in her skin.
A sharp excruciating pain rippled throughout her body, causing her to let out a scream.
Tim glanced up from his monitor and jumped up.
"Y/N?" He poked out his head.
Y/N tried to reply but she couldn't move. Her hand ripped away from the fridge and she whimpered.
"What happened?" He asked, rushing in. "Are you okay?"
Alfred rushed in and carried her to he medical wing as Tim hooked her up and they scrambled around trying to calm down the electricity on her body.
"Alfred, don't let any liquids touch her!" He warned.
"Is she stable?" Alfred asked.
Foam erupted from her mouth as her body shook and she shuddered.
"What's going on?" Bruce asked, running in.
"I don't know but she's going to die if we don't do something." Tim said.
"Hold on, have you tried extracting it?"
"I'm going to try now." Tim said.
Tim tried injecting some serum int. Her body but it only caused her to shudder and shake.
"Damn it." He cursed.
"Have you perfected the nanotechnology?" Bruce asked, rushing around check her vitals.
"No, not yet. It's too dangerous." Tim said, shooting down the idea.
Suddenly, she stopped shaking and flopped dead on the counter.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fu—" Tim said, his hands shaking.
"Is she dead?" Bruce asked, bluntly.
Tim slipped his hand into her wrist to check her pulse. There was no pulse.
"She is..." Tim swallowed. "Gone."
Tim didn't feel different. Maybe he has registered the fact that she is actually not going to be in his life anymore.
Sinking down on the floor, Tim raked his fingers through his hair.
