It was rare when Loki got sick. As long as he lived on Midgard, most midgardian diseases or sicknesses didn't effect him at all.
Even on Asgard, he would hardly ever get sick at all!

Well, at least until today.
Loki had caught a pretty bad cold. Y/N had one a couple weeks prior, he figured he'd might've accidentally spread it to Loki.
And because of the unbearable head pain Loki was experiencing, he ended up regressing a while ago.

Y/N felt terrible for his baby. So it was only natural that he was willing to do anything to get Loki back in good health!

The poor god was sitting in bed watching TV. He had no clue what he was watching, but he appreciated how colorful it was. He wanted to laugh at the occasional jokes the characters were making, but even the smallest giggle hurt his throat tremendously.
So for now, he was just quiet.

Y/N walked in the bedroom with medicine in his hand, a spoon as well.
"Hey baby boy, are you feeling okay?"

Loki shook his head,
"T-throat. 'Urts."

Y/N frowned, "I know, I promise you'll feel better soon." He sat down on the bed next to Loki, "It's time for your medicine."

Loki groaned and turned away, "Nuh uh. Gwoss!"

"What? But I thought you said you liked this flavor of medicine? It's grape!"

"Nwo! I wan' jwuice. Oran' jwuice."

"Loki you can have your orange juice after your medicine."

"No!"
He wanted to yell out more, but he ended up having a coughing fit instead. Y/N quickly patted his back to help Loki.
When he was done, he started to whimper.
"O-ow."

"My poor baby. Listen, this will make the icky feelings go away sooner. I promise once you drink this, you can have your juice. Can you be a brave boy for me just like you were yesterday?"

Loki pouted slightly, but nodded.

"Thank you, baby."
Y/N unscrewed the lid to the medicine and poured only a drop on to the spoon.

"Do you want me to count?"

Loki nodded, opening his mouth slightly.

"Okay. One,"
You inched it close,
"Two,"
Even closer,
"And three."
You put the spoon in Loki's mouth then took it out quickly. Loki's face scrunched up in disgust. After a few seconds, he gulped the grape liquid.
"A-all dwone."

Y/N placed a kiss on his cheek, "Such a brave boy! I'm so proud of you."

He cupped Loki's cheek softly while rubbing his fingers softly against Loki's cheek, "Do you want to take a bath now? Or do you want to relax for a little longer?"

"Relax lwonger. Body 'urt."

"Your body too, baby?"
He asked worryingly, he thought Loki's cold would get better by now. But maybe after the medicine kicks in, he'll start to feel better.

Loki only nodded.

With a sigh, Y/N laid in the bed next to Loki.
"I'm so sorry, you must be in so much pain. Hopefully your medicine will kick in soon."
As soon as he said that, he felt a buzz coming from his phone.

He unlocked his phone to see he got a text from Thor;

Greetings Y/N! Has my brother been feeling better?

Hey Thor, unfortunately he hasn't. I just gave him some medicine, hopefully it will kick in soon.

Oh dear. Perhaps I should bring him some tea? In Asgard we have a special tea with tons of nutrients to help us get back to health fast.

Oh my god,  maybe that's why he hasn't gotten better? Because he hasn't been getting the right medicine?

Ah, that might be the case. But not to worry, Y/N. I assure you he'll be okay. And I'll be there to bring tea as soon as I can!

Y/N felt terrible. How come he didn't realize this sooner? He's not from here, of course things wouldn't work the same for him as it would for everyone else.

Y/N looked over to the other side of the bed to see Loki's eyes dropping down.

"Hey, are you tired my love?"

Loki nodded, snuggling deeper into the covers.
"Go right ahead and sleep, baby. Your brother Thor is going to be here when you wake up to give you some tea. Isn't that nice?"

Loki simply nodded again. He didn't feel like talking right now, one more word would make his throat burn like hell.
Y/N understood the pain he was going through, so he didn't mind the non verbal response.

He watched as Loki slowly fell asleep, not so peacefully. His breathing was ragged, it made Y/N's heart shatter.
In case Loki needed anything, he decided to stay in the bed. But before he knew it, he started to sleep as well.

"Y/N! I've arrived with the essentials for my brother!"

The booming voice woke Y/N in his sleep. He looked over to his side, Loki was still asleep.
He let out a sigh of relief.

"Y/N? Where are you!"

"I'm coming!!"
Y/N retorted, coming out of the bed and quickly making his way to the living room.
In there, Y/N saw Thor with a paper bag in his arms, it looked really full.

"Ah! There you are. Sorry if I interrupted anything, but I finally got the items."

"Thank you, Thor. That's very sweet of you. Loki is in the bedroom sleeping, so we can make the tea before he wakes up."

As if it were on cue, Loki came peeking out of the hallway with a blanket wrapped around him,
"Bubba?"

"Brother! You're up."
He said happily, Loki only smiled. He didn't have a lot of energy still, even after sleeping he felt cold and disgusting.

With a sigh, you walk over to Loki, "My love you should be in bed, you don't want to exhaust yourself."

He whined, a small pout forming on his face, "Nwo. I wan' play with bubba."

"We can play when you get better, young one. As a matter of fact, I brought things to make your favorite tea, it will help you feel better."

Loki's eyes widened, "Really? C-Can I have it now?"

Thor chuckled, "I haven't made it quite yet, but I'll make it fast. I promise! Now you should follow Y/N back to the room."

"Okay.." Loki said with a sigh, he grabbed Y/N's hand and walked to the bedroom.

Now that you two were back in the room, you decided to just stay with Loki. As much as you wanted to help Thor, you had no idea how to make the tea he was making. You trusted Thor to do things the way they were supposed to be done.
"I'm bwored."

"I know, honey. How about I start a bath for you? You can play in there for a while."
Y/N suggested, Loki nodded in agreement.

"Okay, I'll start the bath. Do you think you can get undressed while I do that?"

Loki smiled and nodded, a determined look on his face.

Y/N got up from the bed again and went to the bathroom. It wasn't too far away, it was conjoined in the bedroom. Walking in, Y/N started the water in the bathtub, then he went into the closet to grab some toys for Loki. He absolutely adored playing with boats and ducks in the bathtub. Y/N didn't know why, but Loki always found the two interesting.

He placed the toys in the water, then waving his hand through the water to check the temperature. It was near perfect. He then stopped the water, now all that was needed was Loki to get in.

"Loki! Your bath is ready!"

"Comin'!"

Loki came walking in, blanket wrapped around him.
Y/N laughed, "You can't wear your blanket in the tub, Loki."

"I know. It's so cold, tho."

"Don't worry, the water is nice and warm for you."
Y/N took of the blankets off of Loki and threw it gently to the side.
He helped Loki get in the bathtub, the god was now sitting in the tub surrounded by many toys.

"See? It feels nice right?"

"Mhm."
He hummed, grabbing the ducks and lightly splashing them around.
Y/N watched Loki contently as he played, it was always fun trying to figure out what Loki was doing with the ducks. Right now, the ducks are all on boats. Loki making "vroom vroom" nosies as they floated by.

"I'm going to check on Thor, alright? Are you going to be okay on your own?"
The god nodded his head, not batting an eye at his caregiver.

Y/N stood up and made his way over to the kitchen. When there, Y/N saw that Thor was nearly done making the tea.
"Ah, Y/N! Come here, I need you to taste the tea for me."

Y/N smiled, "Sure! It smells nice, what's in it?"
He asked, more out of fear then curiosity.

"Only the finest herbs and fruits from Asgard! It won't be harmful to you, Y/N. If anything it might have good benefits."
He got out a spoon and scooped up some of the liquid. It had a clear golden shade with some flowers that looked unfamiliar. Y/N put his anxiety aside and took the spoon, putting it in his mouth to taste.

He was surprised to find out that it tasted similar to mint tea, just way more strong.
"This is pretty good! Loki will love it."

"I'm glad. Me and Loki used to have this all the time when we were children. Our mother would make it for us anytime we weren't feeling up to par."
He grabbed a near by cup and scooped the liquid into the cup, "Give this to Loki. We don't want him to be sick any longer, do we?"
He chuckled, you nodded in agreement.

"Thank you Thor. You can stay the night if you'd want?"

"No, no. This was only a short trip, I still have boring business to do in Asgard. But don't worry, I'll be back soon enough."
He grabbed some of the leftover ingredients in his bag and started to make his way to the door, "Let me know when Loki feels better!"
He said, then the door closed.

Y/N held the cup in his hands,
"Tea after a bath sounds really good. Maybe I'll get myself a cup."

Shortly after Thor left, Y/N got Loki out of the tub and dressed him in pajamas.
The two of them sat in bed together with warm tea, Y/N's in a coffee cup, Loki's in a sippy cup.
Despite Loki insisting that he wanted a coffee cup like Y/N, Y/N didn't want to risk any spills on the bed.

"Make sure you drink it all, baby. This will help you feel better."

"Super gwood, papa. I wove it."
He muttered while drinking more tea. Y/N smiled and pressed a kiss on Loki's cheek, "I'm so glad, baby. We'll have to thank your brother by getting him something nice."

"I wanna make hwim a drawing!"

"That's perfect! Good thinking, sweetie."

Shortly after tea, Y/N and Loki fell asleep again. But this time, much more peaceful.

Loki was all better by the morning !
