Y/N really didn't know many littles. At least, from her experience in New York, it was rare when you'd actually see a caregiver with a little. She herself was a neutral. She was fine with this fact. She also didn't mind that she'd have to watch littles from time to time.

If anything, she was curious to get to know littles. But she was shocked to find out that her fellow co-worker, Maria Hill, was a little.
Nick Fury had Y/N stay behind for awhile after a meeting held at SHEILD. He pulled up her records and her classification, which made Y/N confused at that moment. But it started to make since to her when he explained.

"Y/N, do you know how to handle a little?"

The question had caught you off guard at first, but she simply responded,

"Well, I have taken care of one before for one of my friends. But that was a long time ago, why do you ask sir-"

"That's all the information I needed. It's short notice, and I'm sorry to drop this all on you, but I need to ask you a favor. I'm sure you know Maria Hill?"

"Yes, of course sir."

"She's a little. I'm her caregiver, for now until she can find one full time. What I need from you, is to watch her until I come back from a mission with Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. It's estimated to only be a day, but I trust that you'll be able to handle the job."

"N-no offense sir, but wouldn't there be someone else to be qualified for this..? Decides, my classification isn't that ideal and I've only watched a little once in my life-"

"Trust me, Y/N. Out of all the agents here you're one of the people I feel like I can trust. I wouldn't be asking you if I didn't trust you."

He stood up, walking towards the door,

"You know my number. If you're able to do it, call me as soon as you can."

Then just like that, he left the room.

And, that's how you ended up here right now. Sitting on the couch with little Maria Hill. Your first overall impression? You could tell that she was shy. Fury was in a rush to to leave for the mission so you were left with little to no information about what she was like in headspace. What did she like? What didn't she like? Was she comfortable with Y/N even watching her? What is her headspace age?

Y/N was basically going into this blind.
Suddenly, she could feel a small tug on her sleeve. Y/N turned around to see Maria looking at her with no clear expression.

"Yes?"

"Do 'ou know when bubby come back?"
She asked.

"Um, I think he'll be back in a day. But don't worry, we'll have plenty of fun here! We can do whatever you want."

Maria's eyes lit up, "Any'ting?"

"Anything." Y/N retorted, "Like, for starters.." she grabbed Maria's bag and opened it up. She grabbed out one of Maria's toys and placed it on the couch next to the both of them. She also grabbed another, then another, then another.
"How about we play with your toys? You got some pretty cool ones."

Maria didn't look amused. With a sigh she turned over to the other side of the couch,
"I no wan' play with toys. Bor'in."

"O-oh. Okay, well what would you like to do?"

"Can we do pway like pwincesses? I wan' to get a make over!"
Maria giggled and grabbed the bag away from Y/N's lap, deep down in the bag there was a brush, a play lip gloss kit, and a few rubber bands for hair.

"I snuck some stwuffs, bubby no like when I wear it when little. Bwut it okay!"

She smiled and laid out all of the things in front of the both of them. Y/N had an apprehensive look on her face, would Fury got mad if she allowed her to do this? But a sudden thought struck her mind, "He's not coming back until tomorrow.. how would he even know?"
Y/N sighed to herself, she's been anxious this whole time knowing that a little was in her care. But if someone trusted her enough to watch their little for them, she was clearly had to be right for the job right?

"Would you like me to help you look like a princess?"
You asked in a sudden enthusiastic tone, it made Maria squeal happily.

"Yes p'ease!" She grabbed some of the rubber bands, "Can ou put my hair in pretty bwaids? My bubby doesn't know how.. do you?"
She asked, with a small bit of hopefulness in her tone. Y/N gave her a smile then ruffled her hair, "Of course I can! We can watch some cartoons while I do your hair," she said getting off the couch to go find the remote, "What do you like to watch?"

"I like Power Puff Girls!!"
She giggled, bouncing slightly up and down on the couch. Y/N grabbed the remote and turned on the TV, going to Netflix.
It didn't take her long to find the show. She clicked on it then made her way back to the couch.

"Okay, let's get started."
Y/N took a deep breath before starting to grab pieces of Maria's hair, with a big of a struggle, she began to braid the little's hair.

The first braid was done by now, it was a fairly large braid! You grabbed some pieces of the braid to make it looser, and make it look more messy almost like a "mermaid tail" type of style.
Now it was time to start on the other half, Y/N hummed a song while braiding this time.

Maria felt calm and safe, like she was with her papa. It hasn't been long since she's known Y/N, but her heart was beginning to gain trust in her. The way Y/N was so calm while gingerly braiding Maria's hair made her feel so relaxed.

"And, done. There we go," Y/N pulled out her phone to show Maria her hair, "What do you think?"

"I love it! They both so pretty!"
She turned around and wrapped her arms tightly around Y/N, "Thank you, thank you!"
Y/N didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around the little as well.
"No problem, would you like to use your lipgloss kit now?

"Yes please! I wan' the prettiest color ever!"
She giggled while opening the kit, there were multiple colors on the pallet board, similar to an eyeshadow palette. There were a small shades of pinks, reds, and blues.

"I wan' ou to choose one for me!"

A small smirk was formed on Y/N's face, she couldn't help but chuckle at the little's request.
"Of course, how about.."
She traced her finger around the pallet, then stopped at a red shade that caught her eye. The shade was called, "Maraschino Cherry"

"This one. I think you'd look amazing in it! Perfect for a princess."

"You're right! Haha, it's perfect!"
She grabbed a small, thin brush that was along side of the kit. She handed it to Y/N with a smile, "You use this to put it on!"

Y/N tapped the brush gently into the lip gloss, it was very sticky. There were small bits of glitter in the mixture, and it has a slight scent of cherries. It made Y/N wonder if all the lip glosses had their own scents.

"Okay, ready?"

Maria nodded her head, closing her eyes.

It didn't take long for Y/N to apply to lipgloss on her lips, she didn't want to put too much since it was sticky, she really didn't want Maria to rub her face against something.. that would stain terribly!
"All done! You look beautiful."

"Thank you so much! I can't wait to tell papa you made my hair pretty! Can you pwease teach him?"

Y/N laughed,
"I can try! Maybe tomorrow I'll talk about it with him."
You picked up your phone to show Maria her lip gloss, but you noticed how late it was getting. Maria didn't look like she was ready to sleep at all, but Y/N didn't want her to be cranky for Fury tomorrow.

"Well.. this was really fun, but it's getting late Maria. How about we go to bed?"

A small frown appeared on her face, she didn't look to happy about Y/N's suggestion. None the less, she nodded. She stood up from the couch and grabbed one of the few stuffed animals on the couch, a small panda.

"Thank you, how about you go brush your teeth and I'll get the bed ready for you."

Maria nodded again and searched for her tooth brush in the bag, alongside with some bubblegum toothpaste.
"I have my own too'paste. It's bubblegum!"

"Ooo, that's nice. I love that flavor."

Maria giggled before making her way to your bathroom. Y/N sighed at the thought of having to sleep on the couch. Of course she was willing to give her bed up for her guests, it was the polite thing to do of course. But it still was a pain to some extent.
Regardless, she brought a couple of pillows on one side of the couch, along with two blankets that hung over the couch. One on the cushions, and one for her to get comfy in.

"I all done!"
Maria announced, her lipgloss seemed to have washed away by now.

"Okay, let's get you tucked in sweetheart."

The two of them walked into Y/N's room, Maria politely waited for Y/N to get the bed situated for her, after that was done, she jumped right in and started to get comfortable.

"Thank you Miss Y/N for takin' good care of me."

"O-oh! It's no problem, sweetie. You don't have to thank me at all."
Y/N was met with a pair of arms being wrapped around her again, she could hear small giggles coming from Maria. "I love 'ou Auntie Y/N. Can 'ou hang out with mwe again.. soon?"

Y/N's heart felt like it skipped a beat. She truly couldn't believe that she'd be able to do this. It amazed her how she was so nervous and anxious.. yet now she was calm and felt at ease. Maybe it was wrong to be question herself so much, sometimes you have to go into things head on, for better or for worse.

Y/N ruffled the top of Maria's head gently, careful to not ruin Maria's braids.

"Of course Maria, I promise to see you very soon. I-I love you more, honey."
