Chapter 8

Selva's POV:

           "I'm worried Alka. I'm going to check on Krisha today." I told my best friend Alka.

            "So... Mr.Selva is totally whipped." She teased me.

            "Yes Alka, I fell for Krisha the moment I saw her, there was some kind of connect between us. I could feel it. I knew she must be upset by now because of her daddy's condition. And it's a good chance for me to meet her dad. What do you think?" I asked Alka.

          "I'm so happy for you Selva, finally you found love in your life. Huh... Look at me... I'm still trying hard to get my Adith's attention but Zlich. " she replied longingly.

            "He is one egoistic jerk. Did you see the way he behaved with Krisha. Do your crush have an organ named heart?" I asked her controlling my anger.

         "Adith is a very good man by heart Selva, he do have some anger issues. But his heart is pure. I didn't know why he doesn't like Krisha?" She told me confused.

           "Whatever... Anyways I'm going to the hospital. Don't tell Krisha. I wanted to surprise her. " I told Alka and left for the hospital.

         "Excuse me, I'm here to visit a patient Aarav, he was recently admitted for an cardiac disability." I enquired the receptionist about Krisha's dad,  She told me such patient was discharged in the morning.

     Disheartened I decided to get back work but an idea popped my mind and made me drove to Krisha's house.

       After struggling for about two hours with the address I found her flat. An elderly women opened door for me, must be her mom.

      "Aunty... Bless me." I touched her foot instead of blessing me she started hitting me with a spatula.

        "I know you... You belong to that thief group isn't it? Who used loot in the houses where women stay alone. I'll not leave you today." She screamed and started hitting me badly.

       "Aunty... No... No. I'm not a thief... Please listen. Stop... Aarrg...!" I tried to stop her.

        "Krisha.... Come here fast... Call the police.. Call them immediately." Told that lady.

      That sick women! I highly doubted that how she gave birth to a soft natured girl like Krisha?

         "Mom.... What are you doing? Stop it." Came an angelic voice, it was Krisha.

          "Mom please stop, he's my colleague. I know him, he is Selva." Yelled Krisha and plucked the spatula from her hand.

       "Wha.. What are you saying?" Asked her mom with disbelief.

         "Accho I'm so sorry pa, I don't know. Actually I saw a thief  exactly like you in the news. I'm so sorry." She apologized.

           God! That pained like hell. She was one hulk of an aunty, I wonder about Krisha's this side. What if she had some genes of her mom?

    I was into big trouble.

       "I'm so sorry Selva. Please take your seat. " told Krisha and sat on the couch, the bouquet I bought for her dad was then crushed on the floor.

     "Thank you so much hulk aunty!" I thanked Krisha's mom in my mind and gave her a weak smile.

          "What are surprise Selva? Why are you here, what's the matter?" Krisha asked me.

        "Why Krisha shouldn't I visit you?" I asked her.

         "Ofcours you can my friend. What would you liked to have? Tea, Coffee or juice. " offered Krisha with a beautiful smile.

         "Just a glass of water.... I came to visit your dad Krisha. " I told her making both Krisha and her mom exchange looks. She might be thinking I wasn't that close to her to poke my nose in her family. That was true, but I wanted to get close with her.

      "Uh.... Actually I put him to sleep after giving his pills. He is resting Selva." Told Krisha.
 
        I didn't know the reason for her hesitation, I didn't force her and decided to leave. Simultaneously both of us got call from our office for an immediate meeting.

       I offered Krisha a drive and after thinking a lot she accepted it. Her mom apologized again while I gave her a smile.

         "But trust me Selva, he was exactly like you." Told her mom. "Mom please! " Krisha pleaded and we both left for our office.

Krisha's POV:

        I got down from Selva's car to only to meet Adith's deadly glare. Adith parked his car and walked towards us before he could talk to me Selva dragged me into the office.

       I could feel Adith's eyes on me increasing my heartbeat. "Are you okay, Krisha?" Asked Selva .

         "Uh..aa fine. I'm fine." I managed to bring out my words, in a moment I was yanked inside a room, my head hit the table hard and I saw Adith locking the door.

        "Where have you been?" Asked Adith gripping my shoulder which was rather painful.

           "Adith... It's paining leave me." I tried to wiggle out of his grip.  "First answer me." He roared, my eyes started watering enduring his tight handheld.

       At the same time we heard Selva " Krish are you okay? Tell me ..... Krisha answer me. Who's with you inside?"

           "Oh.... So you were with him. Enjoying life.... Wow... How stupid I'm. I should have guessed it." Adith mocked at me.

       "No... I... Adith... It...it was an medical emergency. It wa-" I tried to explain but Adith cut me off and screamed "Shut up.... Just shut the hell up you bloody women."

         He twisted my arm back making me hoot out of pain and whispered in my ear " I told you to stay away from him. Am I or not?"

         On the other hand Selva was knocking the door really hard calling my name.

      "I warned you about that party am I or not Krisha? I asked you to not attend it and work on the file I gave you. But you left the file in the office and attended his party. Now coming up with a bullshit lie 'medical emergency' do you think I'm a fool?" He pressurized my twisted while talking to me.

        "Adith please.... Its paining a lot leave me. I swear, I didn't attend that party. Please trust me. I didn't go there." I pleaded.

       He pushed me onto the floor making me land with a loud thud. I rubbed my arm and tried to ease the pain but it was not helping.

          Adith took deep breaths and dishelved his hair. " Tell me one good reason to trust you Krisha. Tell me one reason. A word like trust shouldn't cone out of your mouth. If you say that word again I'll rip your tongue. I wouldn't have fell in love with you if I knew you will end up being such an whore." He uttered those words kneeling in front of me and looking straight into my eyes.

How could he?

       "My already damaged heart shatter into trillion pieces the pain my hand held right then was nothing comparing to my heart.

         My throat refused to gulp my own saliva and my lungs spurned breathing. What did I do to deserve such humiliating and hurtful words.

         Adith got up immediately and left blasting the door open, next second Selva rushed to me. "Krisha are you okay? My God, this marks on your hand.... Did he hurt you?"

             I couldn't answer him because I was busy handling my inner turmoil and consoling my heart.

    " Krisha...? " I was brought back to reality by Selva.

      "I will not leave him, I'll break his arms today. " Selva yelled and got up.

        Mustering every ounce of energy in me I stopped him " Selva, listen.... I want you to forget what happened here. I don't want you to talk about this matter anymore. Do you understand?" I asked him.

       "Are you crazy...? He just molasted you." He asked me unbelievably.

          "I'm telling you right. Don't talk about it. Promise me you will not tell this even to Alka. Promise." I constrained him to promise.

            "Definitely I will break his ribs one day Krisha. I'll show him hell. He is going to die in my arms." Yelled Selva which I couldn't bare.

        "Stop it Selva. Not another word about Adith. I'll not permit anyone to take lead in my life. I can handle my own problems, you know what, I don't want any help from you, just stay away from me." I yelled at him and got up with much difficulty to leave the place.

            "I know, I was being rude to Selva, but what can I do? Adith didn't like my friendship with me. I never did nor will do something he didn't like." I thought to myself and went into the restroom, as usual cried my heart out and came out after fixing my makeup as if nothing happened.

         The meeting went on and I avoided Selva to the fullest. Alka found out something was not right but chose to ignore it which I was totally glad about.

              The important part about the meeting was Srinivas uncle he came back to India yesterday and arranged the meetings to moniyer our projects, Manohar Sir was also present he gave me a warm smile which I returned back.

          Soon the meeting was over then Manohar sir called me and told  "I spoke to one of our investors Krisha he was interested in your research. He wanted to meet you in person, talk to him and start your work but don't forget about the current project you are working on. Am I clear?"

              "Thank you so much Sir. It was really a great help for me, I'm always thankful to you. And you can count on me I'll complete the current project I'm working on and complete it. Thanks again." I thanked him whole heartedly.

          "What do you think about the  girl Adith? I think she is perfect for you." I heard those words from Srinivas uncle stopping my world.

       "Your wish daddy, I'm ready to meet her. " told Adith looking at me and left the conference hall.

           Srinivas uncle came to me and spoke " I want you to stay away from my Son Krisha. I don't want to see him hurt anymore even though it's about work try to avoid situations and let my son live his life. I hope you have some respect for my words." I nodded my head in positively with few tears escaping my eyes.

          The walk from the conference room to my cabin felt miles away... My heart was heavy and cringed with the thought of another girl in my Adith's life.

           When I opened the of my cabin, I saw Alka sitting there crying badly, once she saw me she hugged me tight and told me "Krisha... Srini uncle wanted Adith to marry his friend's daughter. Adith was going to meet her tonight. What if Adith said Yes? I can't live without him Krisha... I love him so much." Cried Alka.

         I didn't hug her back because I was shocked by her words, she love my Adith.

        I laughed thinking about my life, what would I worry about?

        My own father in law who was trying to set my husband up with another girl when we were not even divorced in first place. 

Or

     My best fried confessing her love for my husband when I was being Adith's wife. Alka left my cabin and I sat there looking at the pictures where Adith and I snapped together.

      How would I prove my innocence to him? How would I make him understand? He might meet that girl, but I knew he would reject her. After all he still love me, that's why he was upset with the fact of Selva getting close to me.

   What would I do Adith? I still couldn't hate you. I love you and you are my world.
