Krisha's POV :

        I quickly turned my alarm off, not because to prolong my sleep, it's been years since I had a peaceful sleep. I did it for my daddy, my son.

        People might wonder, why would I call my son as DADDY? I had a reason behind it, my son took after my dad Anand. Urmila ma said he took after my father in law. Few of our common friends said Aarav was looking like Adith. While Kabir told me that Aarav was a cocktail of our whole family. He has got every better traits from all our family members.

Genes...

                  I missed my dad Anand terribly, he was my everything, the first ever person close to my heart. But ironically he threw me out of his heart. So I started seeing my daddy in my son. I called him daddy and he called me baby.

      "Baby..." My son touched my cheek.

        "Go back to sleep love, there's still time. " I told hugging him close to my heart.

        "Baby... Chuchu..." He told me clutching his pants.

          I chuckled and carried him to the restroom, he did his business still sleeping and after that I brought him back to bed.

              Time for me to get ready for my office. I had so many works piled up to compensate my absence for these past few days, But I didn't wanted to leave my son. He would cry when he woke up to an empty bed, looking for me.

  My baby....

       I kissed his forehead and made him hug a pillow, he clutched it tight thinking it was me.

             After taking a warm shower, I wore my jeans and matched it up with a black kurti. Tying my hair loosly with a help of a clip I got ready after applying a little eyeliner to look presentable.

        Urmi ma was making coffee for me. She told me she was tried to prepare my lunch.

        "It's okay ma, I'll have something in the cafeteria. You take care. Daddy is still sleeping don't forget to give his medicines." I hugged her and left for my office.

          I reached office and greeted everyone, "How are you Alka?" I asked her. "Fine.." She told me with a straight face. I should not expect a warm welcome from her, after all, I disclosed the man she loves as my husband.

          It was definitely a bitter pill to swallow for anyone but I couldn't help it. Adith was my husband and he would always be.

            "Guys... We all are called out for an urgent meeting. Manohar sir is waiting in the conference hall. Hurry up." Told Selva flashing his million dollar smile to me.

        We all were assembled in the conference hall, I greeted Manohar sir and got just a curt nod in return, he looked tensed. 

              Then entered my king with his hard steady steps making all of us look at his direction. He looked fresh and handsome as usual. My breath hitched when his eyes settled on me for a fraction of second before landing it on Manohar Sir.

    My husband... He would never forget to make me drool.

         " Good morning sir. " Adith shook hands with Manohar sir.

           "Good morning Adith." He replied and Adith took his seat.

             "Do you all know why I called for this meeting?" He asked us annoyed then threw a file on the middle of the big table making all of us jerk back.

          "Look at this... This is the new thesis produced by our competitive space research center. They have found out a planet just seven light years away from earth and produced official evidences for that planet. So now they are standing equal to us in our field. We did found of a planet but what is the next step. What is the progress? When are we going to lounge our next rocket to space. I need answers. " yelled Manohar Sir.

        "Sir, we are working on it." told Adith where none of us dared to open our mouth.

       "And when is that Adith? I handed over the whole project to you. But I didn't expected it from him. You disappointed me. " Manohar sir slammed the desk but before Adith could reply I stood up.

      He couldn't talk like that to my Adith.

      "Excuse me sir. How could you blame him just like that. Do you think he is not working and wasting his time enjoying bossing around people. No sir he is not.

           I have read about the other space center project already. It was just a dwarf planet for example it has the atmospheric temperature of about -234 ° Celsius. Which is impossible for any traces of water or soil in that planet, and the atmosphere there is filled with methane not oxygen. Whereas the planet Adith found out was much more similar to earth with oxygen and water. The basic requirements for human existence. Please don't compare Adith's discovery with that planet. We are way more profitable than them. We just have to proceed and run few experiments before our rocket launch. That's it. " I practically yelled out of frustration.

     Manohar sir was taken aback along with all my team mates and Adith, he was looking at me with much more density which could vibrate my heart.

        Someone cleared their throat it happened to be Manohar Sir pulling us out of our own world.

        "In that case may I know what you guys were doing without running those experiments Krisha." He asked me. Then I was into trouble.

       "We are sir, I mean... We are almost done. I just have to draft the end result. I couldn't do any earlier because I was on my leave." I reasoned him.

       "And whose mistake was that?" He asked me straight.

        "Mine sir." I told hanging my head low. Before Manohar Sir could bash me Adith spoke. "One week sir, she will run all the test and produce the test results. Meantime we'll work on the rocket launch.''

           Soon they dismissed all of us and we were back into our cabin. My cabin door flew open and entered Adith "what the hell was that? " he asked getting closer to me.

      "Adi..Adith...actually." I stammered. He held me captive by clutching both my armrest, plastering me with my chair.

        "Stop taking my side and stop caring for me. Because I have had enough of your care. Care is something which defines love but your care is a sin. It's just a facade of fake love and false feelings. Cut it down. Next time I don't want you to interfere in my business. Am I clear?" He told me cruelly with rage erupting through his eyes.

           I held back the salt liquid formed in my eyes due to my weeping soul and weakened body. He left me and walked towards the door.

        "And one more thing... You have to submit me all the results drafted properly within this week. So you have to take up over time. You should stay in the penthouse at the top of this building and you have only five hours to rest. Practically you should work day and night and complete the experiments.

                Not only you, Ms. Anjana, Alka, that guy Selva, Ms. Nirosha all of you are going to work on this. Get ready. And celebrate, you had the nerve to talk back Manohar sir, now face the consequences.

        Remember Krisha. Seven days." He told showing me his seven fingers and left my cabin.

       God! I had to stay in my office for almost a week. How would I leave my daddy alone? That too for a week. Aarav would definately cry and make a mess without me. I held my head and cursed my pathetic life.

Third person's POV:

                Krisha convinced Aarav and told him that she would be back in a week but Aarav was one sweet little delicate soul wasn't ready to leave his mom for a whole week. Who would put him to sleep and tell him bet time stories if not Krisha. He didn't like the idea of sending his mom because he was already upset with the fact that she leaves him alone in the house with his granny for her office.

             Aarav was all alone from the time of his birth the only family he had was his mother and granny, should would the little poor baby do.

        "Mommy... No go." He wiped his tears and started shoving Krisha's cloths out of her briefcase.

            "Daddy.... Listen it's just a matter of a week. Just a week. Mommy will be back soon and I promise. I'll take leave and spend time with you. If you cry like this then I cannot leave. Then mommy will loose the job we have to get back to our old house. " Krisha tried convincing Aarav.

          "No... No.. No old houcse. I wiull not cry." Aarav wiped his tears and sat on the bed with pink face and sniffing nose.

           "My baby...." Krisha pulled Aarav to her chest and soothed him. She was also breaking inside that she should leave her son alone. She never left him like this from his birth. It was equally difficult for her but she wasn't left with any choice.

          Soon Aarav drifted off to sleep and she stepped out of her room to meet Urmila. On the other hand Urmila was sick and was having a fever that was Krisha's biggest fear, how could she leave Aarav with her sick mother in law and trouble her. But it was a straight order from Manohar so she couldn't deny it.

            "Maa... Are you alright? " she asked Urmila.

          "I'm fine Krisha... At least I will be soon. I'm feeling better now, comparing to yesterday. Don't worry about Aarav and me. You go and handle your work.I will take care of your Son. " told Urmila feeling a slight temperature and COLD.

               "Take care ma... If you want anything don't hesitate call me immediately I will make arrangements." She told Urmila looking at the raining clouds and roaring winds.

              "I have stuffed the fridge will all the essentials so you don't have to go out for anything. Do let daddy to go out and play in the park, the weather is not good. I have bought many Disney movies and also recharged the kids pack in the television. Make sure he takes his pills on time ma. And....I'm sorry for troubling you so much. " she apologized to Urmila. 

           "What are you talking Krisha, Aarav is my grandson how on earth I would consider him a trouble? You take care dear." She told and kissed Krisha's forehead.

             With no heart, Krisha left for office kissing the sleeping Aarav and herself crying like a baby.

           Back in Space Life Center work was hectic as expected, it had been two days Krisha didn't had time to even breath, she was so much engrossed in work along with others.

          Alka wasn't herself to Krisha, she was showing a hard face towards Krisha. Well what else she could expect.

          "What's the commotion over there? " Krisha asked her fellow scientist Nirosha.

          "Yeah... That was from the meteorological department. We are expecting a Strom." Told Nirosha.

       "What? A Strom? " Krisha asked shocked. She hurriedly called home and spoke to Urmila.

           "Mom... We are expecting a Strom take care okay, how is Aarav?" She enquired.

           Urmila said Aarav was fine and they would take care of themselves that she shouldn't worry about them.

         Krisha wasn't satisfied after hearing Urmila cough. She decided to call Kabir.

        "Hey Krisha... How are you?" Greeted Kabir.

       "Hi Kabir, I'm fine, how are you?" She greeted him back after few sets of conversations Krisha asked him " Kabir, I need a help. Since we are expecting a Strom I don't want to leave mom and daddy alone can you please go and stay in my house for the next few days? " she asked him.

           "Hey wait... Daddy?" Asked kabir confused.

           "I mean Aarav... Please." Krisha pleaded.

               "Who would deny the chance to stay with that handsome prince. I will start today kri... You don't worry and concentrate in your work." Assured Kabir, Krisha thanked him and cut the call.

              "Krisha... It's predicted to be a very heavy storm so there won't be electricity and our mobile phone wouldn't work for another two days. Thank God, we are staying here, if not I couldn't imagine. " told Nirosha.

              "But your family?" She asked Nirosha.  "I stay in a hostel here dear. My family is back in Delhi." That was Nirosha's reply.

          Krisha was relived when she got a call from Kabir that he reached her house safely. He informed Urmila and told Aarav she wouldn't be able to call for next two days.

         Aarav was utterly disappointed but a little convinced to see Kabir, Aarav loves his mom's best friend and rejoice spending time with Kabir.

    Adith's POV:

          I held Aarav close to my chest and stroked his delicate fibrils. It gave me a strange satisfaction.

     That little boy lifted his head and told me " Adth ouncle, tomovrrow, I wivll go home. I wivll miss youv. " he hugged me tight. I would definitely miss this boy. I didn't know what connection I share with him.
