"When did you get engaged, Ekantha?",her grandfather asked.

"I..I mean we are going to get engaged soon",she said looking at Abhimanyu.

"Kannu, why didn't we know about this?",her grandmother asked Kanyaka.

"Ammamma, its not like official yet! We are taking things slow",Ekantha said.

Abhimanyu, immediately bent to their feet to take their blessings and then looked up to find them with an impressive smile.

"Young man, we'll see you around again soon hopefully",her grandfather said patting his back to which Abhi just gave him a small smile.

Ekantha went to her room, it reminded her of all the memories of the days she spent here. All bitter-sweet memories came into her mind and a tear drop slipped from her eyes. Quickly wiping her tears, she looked around if there were any other important things that she left in her room. She packed them all, while her mother packed hers.

Once they were done, her grandfather's friend's car was waiting just outside the door and Abhimanyu helped them put their things into the car. He looked at Ekantha and blinked his eyes in assurance.

"Thatayya, we need to go to Vennela's home. We have been staying there, some of our things are there too and I can't just leave my job like that and its not even two days that I started doing my new job",Ekantha expressed her concern.

She couldn't leave all of them just like that and that would be very much unfair to the people who trusted her and gave her an opportunity.

"Let's think about it, We'll go to your friend's home first and then decide what to do",Her grandfather said to which she nodded.

"I'm going to go to Vennela's home too, Can Ekantha and me travel together, aunty?",Abhimanyu asked unsure if it was appropriate to ask something like that but he badly wanted to have a talk with her.

The elders exchanged a look and Kanyaka nodded.

"But reach there soon, yeah? I trust you both"Kanyaka said.

"You can trust me with her, aunty! We'll be there before you reach, don't worry",he said.

"Careful with my granddaughter, young man! Oh, what was your name again?",Ekantha's grandfather asked.

"Abhimnayu, thatayya! I'll keep that in mind",he said.

Ekantha took slow steps towards the car, while he followed her from behind and took long strides when they reached the car, and just like always he opened the door for her. She got into the car while he did too.

"Seatbelt",he said reminding her to put on the seat belt. She put on her seat belt and looked at him expecting him to say something.

He started the car and she looked behind to see her mother and grandparents looking at them with a smile on her face. She took a deep breathe and turned back looking at the road in front. The awkward silence was getting too much and she didn't know if she has to start the conversation or let him digest everything that she said.

"I..Ammu, did you just say yes to our wedding?",he asked still unsure if she said yes to them, for them to spend their life together? He just wanted to make sure he wasn't dreaming when she said it.

"I wanted to tell you about this, when I told you about my feelings itself Abhi, but I thought we'll take slow steps but I couldn't keep it to myself anymore. Today, out of all days I told it and I hope it didn't come out in a bad time",she said.

"No, no, it was a good time and even if it was not your words made it better than ever. Trust me, it still feels surreal I am really happy with the way we are going on. I promise you, we're in this together and I will never ever leave you alone to handle anything that comes in life even if its happiness or your lowest times. I love you, Ammu",he said taking her hand in his and entwining their hands together.

A red hue formed on her cheeks, while she felt butterflies in her tummy.

"I love you too, Abhi! Thank you for coming into my life",she said.

"That should be something that I should be saying. In a short span,of time you became a close part of my inner circle and I would never want to lose you ever, as much as cliche it sounds I'm glad you came into my life and made it better. If I had to make a list of the days that are super special to me, I would include all the days that I spent with you",he said and Ekantha covered her face with her hand feeling shy after hearing him.

"You know something, Abhi? I am starting to believe in this thing that after every dark tunnel comes the bright light, I just came back from work and didn't expect him to be there and then so much happened. Though everyone was there, I felt like running away from there and hide from everyone and everything. But then, you happened to be here, I've told you my big decision about our future and we're happy about the way we are progressing. After saying all this also, I don't have words to tell you how much you mean in my life",she said.

"I know and I'll never let you down",he said and glanced at her while still concentrating on the road.

Both of them just held their hands throughout the ride and before Kanyaka and her parents could reach there, they reached Vennela's home. They settled down on the couch together and Abhi was checking something on his phone,while Ekantha was talking to Vishalakshi.

Vishalakshi tried her best to divert her from the things that happened and they got immersed in talks. After around fifteen minutes, Kanyaka and her parents arrived there.

"Vennela and Prashanti garu(Vennela's mom), Thank you so much for letting us stay here even though we came uninformed. Truly you proved that there are still good people left in this society, we'll forever be indebted to you. I didn't go back to my parents till date because I didn't want to be a burden on their head but today when my father said he would have welcomed me home gladly with no questions asked, when all his torture started I got that I didn't understood my parents and now I will leave with them along with my daughter but I think Ekantha will have to stay for some more days since she signed up for two jobs at a time. Maybe till the month end she has to stay back",Kanyaka said and Prashanti just held her hands and gave her a small smile.

"I've told you before also, but I am telling you again you are family, Kanyaka and you don't need to thank me for it and let Ekantha stay how much ever long she has to. We wouldn't have any problem, she gives nobody trouble unlike my daughter who loves giving me heart attack once in a while by dropping sudden surprises",Prashanti said and Vennela looked at her with her mouth wide open.

"Amma, I give you heart attacks? That's very bad, trust me I am the best daughter anyone can get",Vennela said cheering up the mood.

"Ekantha, you stay back and concentrate on things for now till the month end. We have almost twenty more days to go and we will see what to do after that. Don't forget to visit village in the weekends. Also, did you tell about your decision to Vishalakshi garu?",Kanyaka asked.

"No maa, I.. Why don't you tell her about it?",Ekantha whispered bending her head low feeling shy.

"Vishalakshi garu, Ekantha finally said yes to the proposal after taking her sweet time,we'll visit your home as soon as possible",Kanyaka said in front of everyone. It came out as a sweet surprise to everyone around.

Anika and Dikshit squealed in happiness, while Vennela rushed to both of them removed nazar with her hands.

"I knew you both would make a pair, hayee I am so happy for you both",she said and hugged them both.

"By the way, when did this happen? And why are we the last ones to know about this?",Anika and Dixit said and pouted.

"Because we save the best for the last?",Abhimanyu said.

"There you go, he's not even giving us the chance to tease Ekantha oops not anymore, Ammu right?',Anika said and Ekantha hid behind Abhimanyu feeling embarassed.

"Anyways, Congratulations you both and you can come out now Miss soon to be Mrs",Dixit said and Ekantha slowly peeked still standing behind him.

"Now, we'll take your leave Prashanti garu",Kanyaka said.

Ekantha told them to take care of themselves and assured them that she would visit them in the weekend. They left from there followed by Anika and Dixit. Abhimanyu and Vishalakshi were the last ones to leave from there.

"Are we still meeting tomorrow?",Abhi asked as he was about to leave.

"Yeah, that important thing that I wanted to tell you is about the wedding that I said just sometime ago. Other than that there are a few things that I want to talk with you",Ekantha said.

"Share me the location, I'll try to wrap my work and meet you",he said and side hugged her.

"Good night, Ekantha! Hopefully we'll meet soon",Vishalakshi said patting her cheek gently.

Once everyone was gone, she went back to Vennela and her room. She was sitting their surfing something on her phone.

"Ekanthaaa, I am so happy for you! I was just going to tell you something today. Actually Arya called up and..
