Chapter 20.
Cameron's POV.
Cleo: It sounds great, except, I was planning on going to the adoption home, you know to check on the child. But I'll cancel. :)
I can't let her cancel, I'm glad she gave my advice a thought. I thought she'd shout at me for priding. She's so kind and strong, as far as I've known her, that is. Once I get to know her better, she'll be even better.
Me: NO! Don't cancel, please. I can't let you cancel something like that for me. I gave you that advice and you considered it and cancelling it isn't something I want you to do. Okay?
I put my phone away and lay back down on my bed. I stare at the roof as I let my thoughts run wild. She took my advice. I've only known her for almost two weeks now and she's taking my advice. I'm making progress in winning her heart. At first, I thought she would be easy, but she's really strong and she won't budge. Seeing as she's using my advice, it makes me the happiest guy alive.
Cleo has gone through so much in her life, I can tell. She went through so much and she's still so strong today. I don't know why I always talk like I know her completely like we're best friends or something near to that. I guess it's just a habit. I can't help myself.
"Ah. Here you are. Where were you today? I tried to call you and I tried calling May but none of you was answering." Comes the voice that I've avoided all day.
"Hey, Kevin. I was busy, very busy. Trust me. I've been too occupied to check any messages or missed calls or shit."I say, still looking at the roof and sigh.
Kevin, oh how I've missed him.
"Right," he sits on the edge of my bed and looks at me, I look at him then sit up before adjusting my t-shirt. "You need to loosen up, you always fixing your clothes like it's going to make a bad impact on you if your top is wrinkled." He shakes his head.
"It's not that. I just don't feel right when my top is up and sticking to my armpit." I say casually, trying to avoid eye contact.
"Uh-huh. Well, there's this party,"
"No."
"Why not? It's gonna be lit."
Kevin told me he wanted us to hang out. To have the brotherly bond we were supposed to have since I was born, but now he wants me to go to a party with him where he'll be taken away from me -- okay that sounds wrong -- where he'll be too occupied to spend time with me.
"No thank you. If you want us to hang out, we'll do it in your free time. I'm not going to your parties anymore." I say and hold my ground. No more parties, no more half-naked girls, no more getting slightly drunk. No more.
He just frowns and I sigh. I need to hold my ground, I'm still so pissed at him for not being a part of my family for 29 years. He leaves the room without a word. I'm not surprised, it's the behaviour I expected.
Today was such a long day and I'm super tired. I've got a headache, I've been having headaches frequently and I just want to rest. I need to rest. My mind wanders to a broken but beautiful brown haired girl as I drift off.
Cleo's POV.
"Of course I love you, babe." He holds my waist as he places small kisses on my neck and gets to my collarbone. A small moan leaves my lips and I wrap my hand around his neck. "God, you're so beautiful, love." His hands get to under my butt and I bite my bottom lip as he squeezes it.
My moans are more energetic as he leads me to the bed of his friend's house. We are at a party and people are starting to leave, making the house quieter. He gently pushes me down on the bed and he climbs on top of me, putting his hands on the side of me while leaning down to support his weight.
He lips capture mine and I feel that unfamiliar sting through my body. Not the bad kind of sting, it feels energetic and powerful. The kiss is greedy yet slow. His teeth get to my bottom lip and he bites it gently, making my bottoms go wet.
He pulls his zipper down before taking his private out. He lifts my skirt, pulling my panties down my thighs, throwing to the floor, next to the bed. He enters me and I gasp before a moan leaves my lips.
"I love you."
"I love you too." Is what I said before sitting up straight, my forehead sweating and my t-shirt sticking to my sweaty body. Mason isn't in bed and I check the time on my phone.
10:56 PM.
Is what I read and I lay back down, closing my eyes. A dream. It was just a dream. How can a dream feel so real? Yes, that happened before, but it felt like it all happened just now. I've been living a whole miserable year of those dreams. Why couldn't he be a loyal guy? Why not a loving guy? Why tell me he loves me but doesn't want to be with me? Used me for sex? I swear I don't want the answer to any of those questions.
It's not hard being loyal or committed but people make it look it so hard. Like it's the end of the world if they stay with one girl and stay committed and dependable. Right now I'm being served with a pounding headache. I get out of bed and walk to the kitchen, my eyes are almost closed but open enough for me to see where I'm walking. When I get to the kitchen, I switch the light on before getting myself a glass in the upper cabinet, next to the fridge. Taking the 2L water from the fridge, I start pouring myself water. I put it down before bringing the cup to my lips, drinking the cold water which relaxes my body. It makes my throat feel numb from the dryness.
Walking out of the kitchen, I walk into the bathroom, opening the drawer next to the basin, I take pain killers, drop it on my tongue before chunking the water. I tip my head to the back, making sure the tablet's get's to it's home and heals my insanely, annoying headache.
I walk into the living room, switching all the lights off. I make myself comfortable on Netflix. I can't sleep and I don't want to sleep anyways. Taking my phone out of my pocket, I see I got three messages. Two from Mackenzie and the other from Cameron. Opening Mackenzie's contact I read her messages.
Mackenzie: Where the hell is you?! I'm worried sick, you made me wake up to an empty bed! Call me when you get this message!
Mackenzie: You still haven't called me! It's 14:34 Cleo, please just say hello, so I know you're okay, please! I miss you! I'm worried about you.
I don't know where it came from, but a few tears rolled down my cheeks. Not because I'm sad or angry but for the fact that I have someone who cares, other than family. Not including Cameron because we're dating and us dating has nothing to do with my devastation or anything near to that. Mackenzie has been someone I could trust when I'm feeling insecure. She's my best friend.
Me: *grins* You're worried about me? Well, that's at first. I'll call you tomorrow when I feel like talking about today.
I reply before entering Cameron's message box. Still smiling because of Mackenzie's message, I wipe away the tears that fell just a few seconds ago.
Cameron: NO! Don't cancel, please. I can't let you cancel something like that for me. I gave you that advice and you considered it and cancelling it isn't something I want you to do. Okay?
Cameron is so nice. He is so kind. I'm starting to like him and I'm very much not going to back away right now. I've had great past relationships. It lasted long and there were no lies until eventually, I got cheated on or they fell out of love, other than that, it was all so lovely.
If my relationship will last long with Cameron, dates, the night's out, no lies, maybe he can propose again. I giggle at thought of him going on his knees, again and proposing. Maybe next time, it will be an l proper, yes and we'll have a wedding and... I groan as I sit up straight. I'm always thinking like this! It's how I got myself into the situation of being in love with the wrong person.
Trust me, it's not always his fault. I knew for a fact that I couldn't change anything in him, even if we slept together frequently, I knew I couldn't change him for the better, but my stupid mind played tricks, and I lost. Not all guys are the same, not all guys will love you after meeting and having sex. Not all guys will love you like you want them to. I gave my heart to him but nothing happened, instead he threw it away. I advise you to not give your heart away until you know it's the right guy or girl.
Me: Okay. Can you come with me? I mean if you don't want to, it's okay. I can go alone, but if you want you can come.
Why am I asking him to come with me? I should be doing this, not him. Not us, ah, I'm so stupid! I need to stop myself!.
Me: No! Sorry, I don't know why I'm asking you to come with me to check on the child.
Will he still want to tag along? I doubt it, he'd think I'm crazy for asking him to come with me to check on a child which is my blood, but I still want him to come with me.
Me: if you want to come, you can tag along.
I hope he says yes because I'm pretty sure I'm being weird. If I continue to be weird, will he still want to go on that date? I doubt it, I'm sure he dates those formal girls, one's with much respect and always looking neat, even when they go to bed, they're neat as fuck. I find myself drifting again, I'm so tired, I can't stay awake, and...
(Double update!!!! I hope the double update will make up for the terrible way I've been updating in the past -- haha past -- double update for my lovely readers and voters and supporters.
