"Come on, little man, I've got to get you to school."

George Garraway smiled at the little human in front of him that was his little brother as he entered his bedroom, watching the young boy immediately jump up out of his bed in order to dress himself.

"Is mummy not back yet?"

Charles Garraway spoke with a frown upon his face, a slight pout making his bottom lip protrude out sadly.

The young boy ran towards his small wardrobe to grab his school uniform, pulling his white shirt over his head whilst his arms flopped around, causing George to step closer to him to pull the shirt all the way down.

Charles had the best bedroom by a landslide, but George understood.

Charles was the youngest and he had the most toys that he always wanted to play with, sometimes inviting his big brother to come and play dinosaurs with him since he knew that George was very good at a dinosaur roar.

George's room was much smaller, but he also knew that it wasn't the smallest bedroom in the house, no, that room was his mother's. His mother had a single bedroom, barely big enough for a bed and a wardrobe, but she was determined that her sons would get the bigger bedrooms.

"No, she's working overtime again so she asked me to take you to school again." George bent down in order to help his seven year old brother put his trousers on, since the young boy always struggled to do so.

George helped his brother get dressed and ready with his school bag before they came to stop in the family kitchen, of which was a very small room with barely any room to navigate more than one person.

The eldest of the two boys moved around the kitchen quickly, grabbing things that his brother would eat for breakfast whilst also grabbing things so that his brother had a packed lunch.

His light eyes fell upon the fruit bowl that only held one apple, releasing a deep sigh as he grabbed a hold of it and cutting it in to small pieces before adding it to the lunch box that his brother had.

A Paw Patrol one.

He placed the bowl of cereal down for his brother to eat before adding what was the last of the milk in to the bowl so that his brother would have a nice breakfast before school.

He had originally planned to just have an apple for himself, but since it was the last one, he gave it to Charles. It was what he always did.

"Go brush your teeth." George patted the young Garraway boys head once he had finished eating, hearing the frantic footsteps of the seven year old as he ran towards the bathroom.

The eldest of the two then began to pack his own school bag, since he would be walking to his brothers school to drop him off, then going to the shop in order to buy some groceries so that his mum didn't have to worry for that day and bringing them home, only for him to have to go back out of the house again to head towards his own school.

His school weren't happy that he was always late, usually arriving ten minutes in to the first lesson of the day, but they knew the circumstances as to why, so they cut him some slack.

Charles ran rapidly towards him with his hands in the air to show that he was ready to go, his shoes on his feet and his jacket zipped up, which he had done all by himself.

The two brothers walked out of the house together, Charles clinging to his brothers hand since their mum had taught them to stay together.

George always said that he hated it when his brother held his hand, but Charles knew different.

Charles knew that his brother would do anything to make him happy, even playing dinosaurs.

"Georgie!"

Charles Garraway grinned in happiness as he noticed his brother waiting outside of his school ready to pick him up from his after school club, his teacher waiting beside him to make sure that the young boy was picked up by somebody who he knew.

"Is your mother not here again?"

Charles' teacher spoke to the eldest sibling, a condescending look upon their face, making Charles stare up at his teacher in sadness and George to glare at the adult.

"No, she's working hard to make sure Charles gets to go to this club, which by the way, helps keep you in work." George practically spat at the man before him, seeing him taken aback from his tone.

"Is that true, Charles?"

"Yes sir! Mummy is a superhero! She's out saving the world and then she's always there to make my dinner and tuck me in to bed with a story!" Charles grinned as he grabbed a hold of his brothers hand, who accepted it hastily, obviously wanting to get away from the teacher glaring at him.

"Very well, I hope to see her at least once this month." The man stared down at the eldest Garraway child as they began to walk away, though he did not fail to notice the middle finger aimed at him from that very same boy.

The duo began to walk back to their home, with Charles seemingly in a giddy mood though he did eventually calm down enough to stare at his brother with a confused look upon his face.

"Are you going to your job once we get home?"

Charles asked as his brother nodded his head, the blonde curls upon George's head moving as he did so, making the youngest release a sad huff of air from his lips.

Their mother didn't know that George had managed to get a little job after school where he could get pocket money in order to help take some pressure of their mum so that they could see her more.

Charles had been sworn to secrecy by a pinky promise so he knew that he could never tell his mother that George was working at a shop stacking shelves and cleaning every Thursday and Friday after picking him up from school to get money.

They walked through the front door of their home rather quickly, getting used to their mum not being there for another night and for their babysitter to be there, only to hear the very distinct singing voice of somebody very different.

She was home.

The two boys immediately ran full speed towards the voice, dropping their bags and jackets on the floor in the process. The person who was singing turned their body around at the sound of the frantic footsteps, finding four arms wrap around her, two at her shoulders and two at her waist.

"Hey! Easy on the old lady!"

Camille Garraway smiled happily at her two sons, her dark brown hair squashed by the arms of her eldest son, soft and light giggles leaving her soft pink lips as she relished in the love that she was getting from her boys.

The five foot five woman gently rubbed at the heads of her sons as they began to release their hold on her, with the woman bending down in order to press a soft kiss to the forehead of her youngest, Charles.

She stood straight back up and let a grin light up her face, moving towards her teenage son in order to do the same with him, albeit knowing that she wouldn't be able to, laughing loudly as George pushed her away, a light grimace upon his young face.

"I've made your favorite!"

The two boys grinned in happiness as their eyes fell upon their favorite food, that of homemade pizza with stuffed crust which their mother was always great at making, sometimes getting them to help with the toppings, though this time, she had done it all herself.

The pizza was already cut in to pieces, with the two boys charging towards the plates where it sat in order to grab it, each of them immediately eating the food as quick as they could, since they had missed their favorite food made by their favorite person.

Camille watched with a slight sparkle in her dark eyes as her sons were quiet as they ate, gratitude within her that she was able to have the evening off to spend time with her children, though she had made a deal with her boss that she would go back to work once Charles had gone to sleep and be there until the morning.

She just did whatever hours that she could, and she hoped that her boys wouldn't hate her for it.

All that she wanted to do was to give her sons the lives that they deserved, so if it meant that she had to push her body to its limits and be exhausted all of the time, then that would be what she did.

She was their mother.

And they were her everything.
