Swara.

I went to meet at Sahil. Now, he was my supporting system. Never I thought, he would become a brother to me. When I investigated him, I came to know, he was my senior. That time, my world was small. Even though, I was the queen bee-- I wasn't interested in boys. So I don't remember anyone out of my class.

I'm not leaving Bali. I'm not running away. Sahil was right. Till how much I would run away. I haven't seen Sanskar till now. I don't care. If I'm disturbing his life, okay-- I will stay away. If he doesn't want to see even my face, okay-- I won't let him see it. I won't say, it's not hurting me. But, I'm getting used to it.

I slept on the bed. I badly need sleep. I want to fight. I can't keep avoiding my health. I hope, tomorrow will be a good day. I kept an alarm on the phone and closed my eyes.

Like always, I got up early in the morning. I had a bath and changed my dress. After ordering my favourite coffee and sandwich, I took my mobile phone for calling my mom. I haven't called her since I reached here.

"Mom!" I chirped.

"Shona, how are you?" Mom was concerned about me. Why not, I have motion sickness. She would be definitely worried.

"Mom, I'm well. How's dad?" I acted normal. I don't want to get caught.

"Papa ki bacchi! You won't change." She stated. Yeah! I love my father very much. And my mother India was always jealous of that.

"He is good. Yesterday night, he called Sanskar. And when Shekhar asked for you, he said, you were sleeping." Great! Sanskar lied about me. Good to hear.

"Yes, mom. Yesterday, I was tired as fuck!" I said and she scolded me for using bad language.

"Shona, don't behave like a child. We know, Sanskar loves you so much. When he came with this proposal, he said, he was waiting for this moment to happen. So don't make him regret his decision. Not everyone will get a partner who loves them." I covered my mouth with my hand. How manipulative he was. My dad and mom think he loves me. Little did they know--yes, he loves to hate me. He loves to torture me. He loves to call me as a bitch. I felt like to vomit.

"Mom, Sanskar is calling me." I lied and ended the call. I can't take it. I gulped down my tears. Why can't my life be a little happier? Is that too much to ask. Maybe, I don't deserve happiness.

I was my dad's Princess. No one has ever abused and harmed me. My dad had always protected me from every evil eye. But now-- I closed my eyes and sighed.

I came from the bathroom after washing my face. I heard a knock on the door. I went and opened it. It was the receptionist.

"Mrs Maheshwari, we have organised a party for every couple. Hope you won't mind taking part in it." I faked a smile and nodded my head.

No one can leave me at peace. What am I supposed to do at the party, which was organised for couples? Urg! Who knows, Sanskra would even come or not.

At night, I changed my dress and went to the party hall. I saw Sanskar there. He was talking with a girl, who happened to wear a very short dress. Sanskar was laughing with her. Woah! What a sight! my mind sarcastically said.

"Welcome Mrs Maheshwari, we are pleased to have you today." The same girl, who was talking to Sanskar came and said. I faked a smile. Pleased, my foot!

I was so bored. Sanskar was continuously making calls. I know, he was avoiding me. Even when he can't tolerate my single presence, why the hell he married me. I was angry.

"Now, I welcome Mrs Maheshwari to sing a melodious song." I came out of my trance when the anchor announced that. I was shocked. In this foreign country, who knows, I'm a singer? I was confused.

I ascended to the stage. I could see everyone looking at me. Even though I'm not a playback singer, I had always trusted my vocal skills.

I sang what came into my mind. I could feel Sanskar's heated glare at me. My eyes were reddish. The whole crowd clapped and I smiled. Earlier, I used to get excited while hearing the claps. But now, I just needed to be alone. I just wanted to run away.

I descended the steps and came back to my place. Everyone was congratulating me. I thanked them all politely. I searched for Sanskar. He wasn't anywhere.

"It was amazing, Swara." I saw Sahil approaching me like wind and hugging me. I reciprocated the hug with a smile.

"When did you came here?" Seeing him all of a sudden confused me. All these while, I was sitting here bored. If he were with me, I wouldn't have felt that bored.

"Now, I welcome Mr Sengutpa, the organiser of this party to have a speech." The anchor said and now I know the whole story.

I saw him climbing the stage. I was astonished. So it was his plan, to cheer me up. He would have known, I forget my sorrows while singing.

I looked at him with a confused expression. He moved his lips and said, for you! I stood there without any motion. I felt happy, respected, loved, admired. I felt like living again. This stranger was doing so much for me. My father--I felt his replica on Sahil. Caring and loving me, I felt blessed.
