Chapter-49: For Him, But Only With Him
(A/N: Okay so I was totally blank about this chapter. I have written literally 11 drafts for this and that too, from morning so out of them, this has turned out to be the best. ----------------
I was dressed in a red saree and a dull brown blouse, more of a bridal attire than a festive one.
I tied my loose curls into a bun, preparing sweets while observing Manik's latest actions, trying to apologize to him and explain to him in my way, that I was indeed really sorry. He was sometimes awkwardly lying on the couch, jobless, sometimes texting, sometimes playing. He just wanted to be around me without making it seem obvious that he cared.
Amma, Appa and Rishabh had come over to help me out and Manik, as a responsible son-in-law, offered to help a bit, here and there, despite our disputes and grudges.
He went into the room to change his clothes and I excused myself, to go deal with him my way. Amma gave me a naughty smile and why not, her daughter was being bold enough to deal with her husband ALONE. I ditched her smile and stormed inside, shutting the door and locking it behind me. I stumbled up to Manik who had taken his shirt off and wrapped my arms around his body, placing my hands on his chest, hugging him from behind.
He attempted to shrug me off without touching me but I snuggled closer to him making his attempts futile, and he gave in lovingly; but how could it be that he would just give in without trying to defending himself and making himself the victim.
"Kya hai?" He groaned half-heartedly, still enjoying my presence around him and I knew it, even if he didn't reflect so. I didn't need him to tell me things for me to understand what that childish soul would be thinking off. He was like a child and I loved to pamper him and also, be pampered by him.
"I love you." I whispered and placed a soft kiss on his back, as I hugged him and smiled closing my eyes.
"As if." He spat exasperatedly and I frowned. It hurt but probably he was more hurt than I was and if I get upset now, nobody will be able to deal with him. It's either his anger or mine.
"Kya?" He shook his head slowly, searching for clothes in his closet.
"Kuch nahi."
"Manik..." I called out as I realized it was time to apologize. He wouldn't let go so quick.
"Hmm..."
"I'm sorry." I spoke, genuinely meaning every word of it. If only he knew.
"Hmm..."
"Hmm kya hota hai? Either say 'okay' or scold me." I scowled and tracing his well-defined chest muscles and he inhaled deeply.
"Okay." It sounded more controlled than his usual tone and I knew it was turning him on.
"Okay?" I smirked as I ran my fingers downwards and he grabbed them helplessly.
"Okay." He spoke unintentionally seductively and I got upset.
"Just... okay?" I asked cutely and he let go of my hands and hummed along.
"Hmm..."
"Manik!" I nagged as I turned to face him. I wrapped my arms around his neck in an attempt to reveal a bit of my waist. His hands clenched into fists on both sides of him to control his urge to grip me, like he possessed me and it was true.
"Please gussa mat karo. Dekho, mera aisa koi matlab nahi tha. Main tumse bahut pyaar karti hu. I'm sorry." I pecked his nose and he closed his eyes momentarily, to feel me that close to him and then blinked them open.
"Hmm... so I am a sex-addict." He was clearly beyond hurt. He wasn't a man who took revenge and in that sense and in many other aspects, he was a true gentleman. The only reason he could possibly not accept my apology was because I'd hurt him.
"Come on, na? I'll do anything to make up for it. Please?" A tear welled up in one of my eyes and he melted instantly. Me crying was his weakness. No man likes to see his girl cry. It just wrenches his heart.
"Anything?" He spoke in a less crude tone and for some reason, I suddenly felt a blackout. It took me a moment to register he surroundings.
"Yeah..." I struggled to stand and clasped one of his vest straps in my hand. I felt the world slip under me and I fell into strong, protective arms.
"Nandini!" He shouted, almost petrified at the sight. He grabbed me into him and pat my cheek gently to wake me up. "Listen Nandini, if this is a joke, I swear, I'll never ever talk to you again. Ever." He held my cheeks between his palm and gaped at my ethereal face. He'd not looked at me for the entire day and he captured those minute details on my face, that made me look more charming. He glanced at the hand that gripped onto his clothes and it struck to him.
I hadn't eaten anything the entire day.
He swept me in his arms and put me on the bed. He grabbed the jug of water on our side table and poured some into a glass. He made me sip it and sprinkled some on my face.
"Maa...nik..." I called ever so softly and he couldn't take it. I was never that weak in front of him and it pained him to see me like that. He threw a shirt on and grabbed me in his arms, opening the door and taking me outside.
Amma and Appa were really worried seeing me clinging to Manik with my life and Manik helplessly sat next to me, convincing my parents to allow me to eat.
"No Manik, she can't consume anything until the moon comes out."
"Please Amma... she's doing this for my well-being na? See... I can't... live like this, seeing her like this... lying unconscious... I can't..." He spoke in broken sentences as he cried his best to control his emotions.
"Manik..." Amma tried to explain but Manik was already in tears. It was just too much for him. He was guilty for being angry at me. Somewhere he blamed himself for what happened.
"Amma, please."
"Manik..." I moaned in my sleep and he gathered me in his arms, cradling me like a baby, holding me close to himself to assure himself.
"Nandini..." He pecked my forehead a couple of times as he adjusted me in his broad strong arms.
"Gussa ho?" I murmured and he shook his head like a baby.
"No no. Please uth jao. Please meri jaan." He pleaded and I didn't have the energy to get up. I clung onto him and he lifted me in his arms while Amma gave me some water. I sipped the water and then clung back onto Manik, like a child who'd lost her parents in the supermarket for long and then found them. We were each other's everything. I buried my face into the crook of his neck and he protectively held me, rocking bath and forth to calm us down.
***
By evening, I was alright. I was still on my fast and though Manik insisted otherwise, it was a big 'no-no' for me. He even fought with me and proposed to not eat anything until I broke the fast but emotional blackmail doesn't work that well with me, the way it works with him. I didn't want him to do all this for me, but he was a difficult man to convince.
So basically, we were fasting or in other words, starving according to the ritual.
I didn't strain myself much for the rest of the day. Manik changed into a red kurta, pulling his full sleeves all the way up to his elbows. His disheveled hair made him look all the more attractive and there were many instances when he caught me staring at him. Amma and Appa left after I made all the sweets and Rishabh even ate some of them. Just as they left, Manik locked the door and pulled me onto him.
"Ab bolo... kya bol rahi thi... 'I'll do anything to make up for it', hai na!" He smirked as he closed me in against the wall. My bare back hit the cold wall and I locked eyes with Manik. He looked so happy, so attractive, if I said I wasn't wooed, I'd be lying.
Again, the bolder version of me overpowered the usual me and I found myself pulling him closer by his kurta. I gazed into his deep brown eyes, the way I would when he'd tease me; not letting me have what I wanted, during out love-making sessions.
"Kya chahiye mere Manik ko?" I addressed like I'd address a little one and I stood on my tip-toes, brushing his hair gently to style it the way I wanted.
"Phirse bolo." He breathed over my face and I slid my hands onto his chest, twirling the buttons with my fingers.
"Kya?"
"Mere Manik." He muttered and I smiled cheekily, in a rather embarrassed way. I fell onto him and he gripped me tight, making sure I don't fall.
"Mere Manik. Tum sirf mere ho. Humesha. Ab bolo, kya chahiye?" I poked his chest and pouted and acted even cuter than usual, just because I wanted to evoke the same fire in him, the one I had in me, because of him. His arms tightened around my waist, almost wrapping me entirely with just one arm.
"I want you, Nandini. Just you. Nobody else." He pushed me into the wall, grabbed one of my hands, entwined it with his and slammed it against the wall, just beside to my face. He leaned slowly into the crook of my neck, while I turned my face to give him access, with my other hand holding his waist. He planted a few kisses there and sucked the skin hard. Just then, the doorbell rang and both Manik and I were frustrated.
I quickly adjusted my pallu over my newly formed hickey and rushed to open the door, leaving a distressed Manik, panting and infuriating with the unexpected distraction.
"Hey Nandini, how's your first Karwa Chauth going?" They put vermillion on my forehead and blessed me as I touched their feet. Manik was just giving lame looks at them, hoping they'd leave.
"Yeah, pretty good." I said, breathing heavily and acting awkward, hoping they wouldn't get any ideas.
"Nice nice. Manik, here." One of the aunties brought a sweet close to his mouth and he jumped 2 steps behind to escape it.
"No, I don't want." He shook his head in disapproval but aunties, I tell you, they're difficult to deal with.
"It's prasad, you shouldn't say 'no'." She tried forcing him to eat it and I felt sad for him, though I would be glad if he did eat. He was such a foodie and this absurd fast must've been creating havoc in him.
"I don't like sweets. Nandini, bolo na?" He whined for me to save him and I jumped right in. If he didn't want it, then be it.
"Aunty, he's fasting today." I stood between the two, trying to protect my husband.
"Huh? But why?" They looked confused and Manik grabbed me next to him.
"Because she's fasting for me. She wants me to live long. I can't live without her. So I want her to live long 'with' me. That's why." He smirked as the aunties' jaws dropped and I felt so blessed to have a man like him in my life.
"Aww..." I blushed at their comment and yet again, they tried to cheat him and feed him but he grumped.
"No!"
"Aunty, force mat kijiye na?" I supported, standing with him, protecting him from the evil aunties and they gave us looks like what we were doing was a crime.
"Teek hai. Hum yahan rakh dete hai. Chand ko dekhne ke baad khaa lena." I nodded and rushed to provide them our sweets. I put them in a little box, along with savories and dishes we prepared that day. They were going to bless us and Manik was least interested. I literally had to pull him along and get him to take their blessings and yet, though he was so hostile, he was most loved.
He hated the world but the world loved him. He needed just the people he loved but he was returned with the love of people he didn't need. He was a blessing, to me and my family. I couldn't believe a man could love a woman so much, as much as him. If his anger was uncontrollable, his love was beyond.
"Bye beta. Thank you." They formally thanked him and he was more than happy to send them off as quickly as he could.
"Bye aunty. Haan, bye." He waved merrily and shut the door, pulling me back onto him.
"Next time se no distractions, just you and I." He bent to reach me and our lips touched, marking our possessions, marking our love.
(Time to answer some questions:
1. Why do they fight so much?
Well, new couples tend to seek the differences between them in the initial days and it mostly ends up in fights. In Manik's and Nandini's fights, the issues aren't major and are rather silly, so they strengthen the relationship.
2. So did they do it?
Umm... the thing is I don't wanna explicitly write whether they have sex because sex isn't the only thing in a relationship. They joke about it a lot, and young adults tend to do that. It's not necessary for them to consummate all the time, right? Take it in a lighter manner. :)
3. When will we get to read some steamy love-making sessions?
I'm thinking of it. You'll get more of humor though, in those updates, than details. ;)
Hope I answered all your questions. Feel free to drop any queries down below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Part-2:
It was about 9 in the night and I was starving, feeling exhausted with that jewelry that weighed like 20 kilograms. We were waiting for the moon but on that particular day, the moon never comes early.
I was sitting in the balcony, along with my mother-in-law and her sisters, in other words, some aunties, with makeup all done, looking probably pretty. Manik was standing on the other side of the balcony, leaning against the railings, with his head tipped back, was adoring me. I was giggling and joking around with the aunties and every time I blinked, or smiled, a small smile would play along his lips and wouldn't go unnoticed by me. I'd raise my eyebrows in question and he'd just smile warmly or cheekily at me, embarrassing himself and I'd blush. Just then, my phone pinged.
Manik: *Why do you look so beautiful all the time? 😍😍*
I gave him a stare, the look where you're annoyed because you know the truth and you don't like to be flattered. Yeah, that look.
Nandini: *I don't. 😒*
I peeked at his face through my eyebrows to see him gently rubbing his finger on his lips to hide his smile. Aww...
Manik: *Oh shut up... Nandini, I wanna be with you. 😥*
For some reason, he seemed so vulnerable, so adorable and I couldn't help but fall deeper in love with him. It was my turn to be responsible, sensible and understanding now.
Nandini: *You are with me, Manik. 😘*
Manik: *No! I wanna stand next to you, hold your hand, stand by your side always, just like a typical husband.*
I was smiling and Mom got the clue that he and I were conversing through text. She let us be as she observed her happy son.
Nandini: *Aww... you're so cute.*
Manik: *Make an excuse and scoot inside. Now.*
He sent the message and walked inside the house and I was left clueless. I had to make some lame excuse.
"Mom, I think I forgot something. I'll be right back." I smiled as I stood up, holding my saree.
"But Nandini..." She held my hand and tried to stop me but I struggled out and shot a assuring smile.
"I'll be back." I hopped into the house and looked from side to side. Before I could realize, I was pulled along, to an indentation in one of the walls, to conceal us from being directly spotted. I was about to say something but Manik put a finger on my lip, shaking negatively to not utter a word, as his gaze shifted to my sleek hands. He held one of my hands carefully, placing his fingers under mine, brushing the pad of his thumb along my ring finger that held his ring. He admired it and I smiled.
"Kya hai?" I whispered softly against his finger, seeing him acting so cute.
"Bola na, I wanna be with you..." He nagged and entwined his fingers in between the spaces in my hand. His gaze was focussed on our hands. "...tumhare saath... humesha." He brushed it again and observed my face, as a few strands blocked him from having a proper look at me. He blew them softly and cupped my face in his hands.
Just then, I heard an aunty's voice and I came out of my lala-land.
"Abhi waqt hai romance ki? Choddo. Sab wait kar rahe hai." I struggled out and he frowned at me.
"Nanduuu... please?" He pushed his body onto me, forcing me against the wall with one of his hands in mine and the other against the wall, blocking me from moving and also, supporting himself. "I came here to give you something." He proclaimed and I got excited.
"What is it?" My eyes gleamed in joy. Surprises always made me happy and my surprise wedding, now, made me happier than ever.
"Tadaa..." He pulled out a wrapped gift and handed it over to me. I gaped and it, then at Manik and ripped the wrapper apart. Inside the package were two phone cases with two cute words carved on them.
"Acchha laga?" I looked at him and then hugged him real tight.
"This is so cute. I'll keep the 'hubby' one." I pressed the cover to my chest and he chuckled in a rather mocking way.
"What? No, the 'wifey' one is for you. I am the husband in our relationship." He asserted his rights in our relationship and I crossed my arms angrily.
"But, hubby sounds cute." I pouted and gave him pathetic looks at his not-so-compromising character.
"Nandini..." He fussed and I imitated him.
"Manik..."
"Fine. Keep the hubby one. Let everyone make fun of us. Let me pretend like I'm a fool in public." He flapped and gave me a dejected look and I sighed.
"Fine. Sorry."
"Acchha baby... Oye... You'll do anything for me na?" He pulled me back and breathed on my shoulder and I shuddered uncontrollably at the chill air. I moaned and he look it as a yes. "Toh phir ek kissie do." He giggled and stepped back, gleeing in joy.
"Kiss?" I was startled and he smiled adorably.
"Haan ek yahan aur ek yahan... chalo chalo, jaldi do." He pointed at his cheek and then his lip and then leaned in to me, closing his eyes, asking for it. I gaped at him and his brainy ideas and flushed.
"Manik..." I hit his chest playfully, and he whined.
"Teek hai. Main hun bhi kaun, hai na? Chala jaata hu main." He faked his sadness and walked away and I pulled him to me by the waist, slamming myself onto the wall behind.
"Acchha baba, ruko." I stepped on my tip-toes and kissed his cheek and then pecked his lip swiftly, for I knew if I took any longer, it would lead to a passionate encounter and we'd embarrass ourselves in front of the aunties. "Teek?" I spoke and he smiled still closing his eyes. He opened his eyes to see me standing a little away from him and that was it for him.
"Ek matlab SIRF ek dogi?" He complained and made exasperated faces, expressing his extreme sorrow and I grimaced.
"Aur kya?" He sighed.
"Oh. It's okay. I expected this. It's fine. Mujhe laga Nandini mujhe bahut pyaar karti hai and all..." He clicked his lips in hopelessness and I pressed my lips in irritation.
"Tum na, yeh vrath-vrath mat rakho. Tumse nahi hota. You become so moody and clingy." I complained and after a moment of realization, he held his ears and pouted.
"Sorry." My face instantly lit up and I pressed my lips onto his cheek again.
"After everyone leaves, I'll give you whatever you want." I assured and his eyes widened in surprise. He was nothing less than a toddler deprived of his mother's love. As much as I shouldn't compare my love to his mother's, as a wife, I have to care for him just like a mother would; and love him just like a woman would love her man.
"Sacchhi?"
"Nandini promise." I smiled and the aunties disturbed us with their sudden entry. We awkwardly broke apart and pretended to be doing different tasks but the situation was so hilarious, anyone could tell what was happening in that room.
I was led back to the balcony and made to see the moon through a sieve. We offered water to the moon in those small earthen pots and then I was made to see Manik through the sieve. He made me sip some water and I did that to him too, signaling we broke the fast. We fed each other sweets and prasad then got back inside the house.
***
We had a nice feast and Manik and I clicked some pictures together. He impatiently waited for the aunties to leave and it was quite hilarious. The faces Manik made, the comments he passed, were really funny and cute too.
After everything was done, I quickly changed into a white tank and grey pants. I tied my hair into a messy bun and headed to the living room, where Manik was busy watching television. I walked towards him to have a seat next to him but he pulled me into himself, wrapping me securely in his strong arms. His lips began planting small, soft kisses on the rear side of my head and I ran my fingers through his hair.
"Manik... kya kar rahe ho?" I merely breathed and he began placing his moist lip imprints onto my skin.
"I missed you." He whispered into my ear as he slowly withdrew to look at me. I locked eyes with him and squirmed into his body, sitting on his lap, clinging onto him. I kissed his chin softly and shoved my head in the space between his head, neck and shoulder.
We sat together, cuddling and Manik wrapped his arms around me, setting the notifications off before me.
"Tonight, you're all mine." He giggled wickedly and I gasped. In general, he was obsessed with making love, okay, in the good sense and passing these comments made me a little worried.
"Manik, kal college jaana hai. You know na?" My tone shuddered and he smirked, gripping my thigh, drawing small circles on it.
"Haan haan, don't worry... I'll ensure... you won't even be able... to walk." He leaned dangerously close to me, his lips centimeters away from mine and placing my hands on his chest, I pushed him back.
"Haaww... Manik... so bad haan? Main jaa rahi hu." I tried jumping off but he pulled me, his lips brushing mine.
"Kahan?" He looked at me dreamily and I gawked at him. "You think I'll let you? Itna pareshaan kiya tumne pura din. Ab meri baari hai." He tilted his head high with attitude and I squirmed to escape. He pulled me into his arms, holding me under his controlling body and leaned towards my lips.
"M-Ma... Manik, main na... bathroom jaake aaun?" I placed my hand over his lips in an attempt to stop him but for some reason, he was so determined and it freaked me out. Okay, now don't get me wrong. I'm not SCARED of him. It's just... the intimacy we share might rise up a notch leaving me embarrassed or needy, wanting more.
"Chalo, main bhi chalta hu. Come come." He got up with me in his arms and now I looked like a toddler in his arms. Yeah, that was the way he was carrying me. My legs were dangling, trying to loosen his grip on me and he smirked. "Kyun? Kya hua... scared?" He gave me a deadly look and I flushed.
"N-no-noo... sc-scared? Why... why will I be... scared? Poof..." I flapped my hands, rolled my eyes and shook my head in indifference and his smirk grew wider, marking me his prey.
"Are you sure... Mrs. Malhotra? Aaj aap bahut stammer kar rahi ho, you know, so unlike the Nandini I know... I didn't know my words would have such an effect on you..." He chuckled devilishly and I frowned.
"Kya effect?"
"You know, if I knew na, day one se yeh formula apply karta." He raised his eyebrows in an attempt to creep me out and I actually did.
"Manik, please mujhe choddo." I placed my hands over his shoulders, gently pressing them. Though I knew he wouldn't do anything against me, and though I trusted him, I was a little worried only because the way he was behaving was absurd.
"No no no... dekho, we're ALONE now." He whispered the 'alone' word in a spooky tone and my eyes bulged out of their sockets. He howled into my face and I hugged him tightly.
"Mujhe darao mat." I whined and he giggled, securely holding me and that's one thing I love about him. The way he holds me, it makes me feel so safe. As long as he's with me, nobody in this world can cause me any harm.
"Darr gayi..." He began laughing and I gripped him tight. "Nandini... tum mujhse darti ho?" He spoke with humor clear in his voice. He probably found it hilarious but no, I was freaked out, not because of him, but his actions. I tilted back to see him and grumped.
"Today you're behaving so weird." I slapped him lightly on his cheek and he laughed louder seeing me all pissed off.
"I like it, Mrs. Malhotra." He smirked and I scowled. This Manik was so irritating.
"Manik... please, be normal." I pleaded and he pressed his body into me, kissing the rear end of my cheek.
"I was just fooling around. Are you hurt?" He inspected and I nodded disappointedly.
"Sowwieee... I did all this to woo you to the bedroom." He gleed and closed his eyes, shrinking his facial muscles as he stuck his tongue out adorably in failure. "I had a surprise for you but tum darr gayi." He sighed in a rather upset tone and I adjusted my face to make him happy.
"Main darti nahi hu tumse." I laughed cheekily and he lifted me to match his height.
"Acchha?" He teased and I hid my face in his.
"Haan..."
"What if that surprise is a halloween ghost?" He made a horrifying face and tried to pester me and I slapped him on his chest.
"Manik!" He giggled and fluttered a kiss on my forehead.
"Baby love..." He whispered in a trance and I pecked his lip.
"I love you." I pecked it a couple more times and rested in his arms in bliss.
"I love you so so much. Now do you wanna see your surprise?" He cheered and I nodded excitedly. He covered my eyes with his hands. I placed my hands on his, for assurance and he led me to the room. He opened my eyes and flicked the light switch on. On our bedside table was an envelope.
Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra.
I gave a merry look at Manik, in an attempt to analyze what was in it but he just smiled, leaning against the wall with his hands in his pockets. I tore the envelope open and slid the piece of paper out, which was supposedly a letter about our package and along with it were two little tickets. Tickets for our honeymoon.y eyes welled up in happiness and I turned to Manik. He looked so serene, watching me. I hopped onto him and clung onto him, crying terribly.
"Manik! I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you!" I kissed him on the lip gently and he responded gracefully.
"I love you more baby girl." He pressed his forehead against mine, protectively holding me in his arms. We stood like that for a while, while I soaked his t-shirt with my happy tears.
I was such a blessed girl. I'd been through many failures in life, in love, in friendship but Manik made up for it all. He was my guardian angel. I was a messed up soul, faltering every now and then but he was just perfect for me. My flaws fit perfectly in his strengths. We were two halves of one soul. We sacrificed for each other, made each other priorities and almost always, he had a greater responsibility in our relationship yet he never complained or even brought it to my notice. We were imperfectly perfect and that made us stand out from the rest of the couples.
As a man, it's their tendency to treat a girl with lots of goodies and gifts. All they need is their girl to be happy. Their girlfriends' smiles can warm their hearts more than any materialistic thing could. Given, Manik was more matured than me, in not just age but in terms of experience too, he took it upon himself to care for me like nobody else. We fought, we fought a lot, probably the word 'lot' would also not suffice, but we loved more. We never stopped teasing each other, complaining, irritating; lightening our relationship but when time came, stood for each other too, protecting and caring, making them feel like the luckiest person in the planet and honestly, he did that to me more than I did.
"So... ahem... Shall we... start preparing?" He signaled a running race motion with his arms and I beamed at him.
"Matlab?"
"Like... let's rehearse our sessions." His hands slid under my waist, onto my butt, putting his fingers into my back pockets. For some reason, his action seemed so seductive, I blushed.
"Manik!" I hit him and bit my lip, giggling. He pulled me onto him with his hands in my pockets and I placed my arms around his neck.
"Excited na? Come come." He lifted me effortlessly by my waist and shoved me on the bed.
"Don't be too hard." I whispered though I knew he wouldn't. He probably knew my intentions were not doubting him and he smiled, as he hovered onto me.
"Do you trust me?" I jerked my head up and down, unable to do so because my head was shoved into the pillow behind. "100%?" He asked suspiciously and I smiled.
"200%."
"You know I won't do anything you don't want me to, right?" I hummed and pecked his lip. "Keep that in mind, always..." He smiled as he pulled his shirt off his body. He grabbed my face roughly in between his fingers, forcing me to look into his eyes. "...and don't fear me." He said with a warm smile as I ran my fingers into his hair and licked my lips, prepping myself for a wonderful night, with him.
