8~ Already Sharing A Room?

N'DJAMENA, CHAD.

"Why not ask Ms. Khalid to help us with one of her bedrooms? I heard she has two bedrooms in her apartment. She won't mind us squatting there for the night huh?" His tone was serious making Sa'eed worried that his friend swallowed something poisonous. He is never serious during his first wife's burial.

"I don't think that is a good idea." He muttered stealing a glance at Suhayr who is busy staring at the photos of their wedding which one of her so called Uncles took earlier. If he doesn't know any better, he'd think she is fan girling inside.

"Why no- don't tell me you have killed her already?" The voice took another dramatic turn after the first sentence. That is what Sa'eed has been avoiding, the drama that always comes after he gets serious.

"Don't be stupid. I'll talk to her about it." He saw her perked up immediately after hearing that so she is indeed multitasking by hearing and seeing all at the same time. He shouldn't be surprised.

"What is it you want to talk to me about or is it not me you want to talk to?" She placed her always innocent act smile which he won't fall for so he kept his phone and continue to drive wanting to gather what to say.

He doesn't want to beg her and neither can he demand her to let them stay since it's clearly not his place yet, till she signs the papers. He hates begging for something, he was not raised to beg for anything as he has everything at his beck and call. There is no need for him to stand up to go get something when they are maids and guards at his disposal.

"Er, we don't have place to stay tonight and we can't leave just now since we have a lot to settle before dawn. So, can we, uh crash at your place?" He asked, his hands tightening on the steering wheel to not let his emotions get the best of him and he will end up in the streets that day.

"Sure, no problem." She shrugged looking all too nice but he doesn't have time to think about it some more since he knew she could be a great actor. He has witnessed one of her performance, all others are minor.

The remaining ride to the company went smoothly without any word exchange from the both of them. He didn't feel like striking a conversation neither does she looks like she has some more questions. He needs to call someone and tell them about his sudden marriage, even Mu'adh doesn't know about it dammit. Where is he to start talking about the whole wedding to Mu'adh who would not let him finish a word after he hears that.

"Send Mu'adh here. I'll call you when I'm done taking care of stuff." He said to her when she is about to leave the car.

"I don't have your number and I know you don't have mine. Let me type it down for you." She move her hand to him indicating that he give her his phone, he did.

Quickly typing away, she gave it back to him then left the car without a word. There is going to be so much trouble with this woman for her arrogance and confidence, he is the one with those not her. How can he cope with someone as hotheaded as him if not even more? The self assurance, over presumptuousness, overbearing attitude will definitely lead to her doom.

"Sup, buddy! What is it we have to do before spending the night at Ms. Khalid's?" Mu'adh played with his brows suggestively, a teasing grin spread across his lips. If Sa'eed is as dirty minded as his friend he would've gave him that same stinky stare.

"I'm married to Ms. Khalid." He dropped the bomb because the longer he kept the secret in him, the longer it will continue torturing him. Now he has let it all out, waiting patiently for his friend's reaction.

"Wait, this is my type of joke not yours so drop that way of acting humorous cause it's boring." Was what Mu'adh said but his face said otherwise seeing as his eyes are trying to search or even rehear the words he had spoken seconds ago.

"I'm not joking. I had to get married to her before she agreed to sign the papers. You know how important this is to me so I agreed to just marry her." He raked his hands through his buzz cut hair that has grown up in the past week due to stress of not getting the company, partly Suhayr's fault.

"And you just agreed to get married? Don't you know that is an enormous decision to make just by yourself? Marriage?! Your mother is going to flip out then cut away twenty servant heads for your mistake. How can you do that so stupidly?" Mu'adh raked his hands into his hair too in confusion and also irritation.

Sa'eed could swear that this man has never looked confused or annoyed with him and seeing him waving those emotions only stress him out some more. He thought Mu'adh could at least make it look like a joke to calm him down but he didn't instead brought that woman that could ruin his mood without trying to. She was dead of making him marry the woman of her choice so if she hears this, all hell will break loose which is why he won't tell her first.

He will tell his grandparents first, the Shehu and Queen of Borno State. He is much closer to those two people in the whole palace since they are not amongst those fighting for royalty up and down. They just watch as their children and their wives all try getting the attention from her. The woman loves him so much which is one of the reasons he wants to fulfill that wish. He had go to any stage to get what she wants if it is within his power to do so.

She brought him up with other little princes and princesses which is another reason why it annoyed him. He wanted to be the only one she loves and cares for but they had to push themselves into their lives. It was only him at first but when they found out about her love for him, all his Aunts send their children to her thinking he gets something out of ordinary. It was just that their blood and thoughts run the same way clashing them back together.

"I think we should tell, Grand mama?" He asked hopefully because even if he doesn't want to show Mu'adh how much he values his advises, he does. Now if Mu'adh asks him not to, then he knew it is best.

"Yes, you should do that right now before tomorrow. We are going back tomorrow and then seeing a foreign woman will cause trouble." Mu'adh nodded watching as his friend removed his phone from the car's cupholder to call his grandmother.

"I have been waiting for you all day, heard you are in Chad?" His Grand mama had said when she picked up the call. They don't exchange pleasantries only if he is sick, they understand each other that much.

"Yes, I am in Chad, Grand mama. Uh, I have something to tell you." He hesitated when he heard her taking a deep breath because whenever he hesitates, she knew it is something colossal.

"I know you've done something wrong but nothing your Grand mama can't help you with, tell me." She encouraged, that was enough for him to spill his guts.

"I got married." He broke the ice then sighed before he continued, "I had to get married to her because she wouldn't give me the remains of the block. I can't build the school without buying her properties since it's in the middle. You know we want to finish this before Grandpapa's birthday and she is taking too long to agree then we made agreement..." He trailed off hearing her laughter from the other end.

That was enough to calm him down, a little.

"She forced you to marry you? I hope she knows what she is getting herself into. This is terrible and if your mother hears about this? I don't want to think of what she will do but I can help if you will agree with my conditions." She bargained eliciting a groan from Sa'eed. Whenever his Grand mama set out conditions, he never liked them.

"Yes, sure, whatever."

"Drop that attitude or I leave you on your own. Anyways, we have to take each and every tradition from tomorrow. I can't have my first grandson getting married when he eloped. The traditions will take place like always, it starts tomorrow." There was this finality in her voice that he can't even argue.

She used that powerful royal voice of hers that makes maids shake like leafs.

"Do I even have a say?" He grumbled out thinking of ways to make Ms. Khalid understand his tradition, even he knows it is overbearing.

"No, I should go now. I have a lot of work to do now because of your last minute plans... Jakadiya-" She hung up the phone since she is full on getting their tradition carried out.

Oh well!

"That went well, now I have to think of mother." He shook his head while Mu'adh grinned mischievously.

"I knew Ms. Khalid is beautiful but I didn't know you couldn't keep it in your pants and had to get married so soon." He commented making Sa'eed see red and he launch at him but stopped seeing he could cause accident, he is driving.

"Shut up." He went back to making phone calls so the papers can be signed before he leaves tomorrow. He needs to make sure people have already started moving so he can build fast. He needs to get it done in six months.

"Who could this be?" Suhayr grumbled while making her way to the door.

She came back some hours earlier and crash back on her bed. She was so tired and the thought of being married really makes her anxious and tired so she let sleep take her anywhere she won't think about marriage. She wanted to call Tasneem and tell her but then again, she won't believe her so she will go there tomorrow to break the news to her best friend. There is so much for her to do, she can't sleep if she thinks about it.

"Oh hey! I forgot you are coming." She commented opening the door wider for Mr. El-Kanemi and his friend Mr. Mannir.

"Thanks for letting us stay, Ms. Khalid." Mu'adh appreciated with a small smile not wanting to look like the clown he is.

"Don't mention, Mr. Mannir and please call me Suhayr." She grinned then move aside for them to come in alongside their small suitcase.

"Call me Mu'adh too." He made his way inside assessing the place with his eyes then gave her a questioning look. She understood what he is enunciating so she pointed go the left door, the guest room.

"Have you had dinner yet?" She inclined her head at Mu'adh before he could trudge into the room. She is about to become a billionaire so the thought of what to cook the next month or if the food stuff she has will be enough didn't cross her mind. She is married to a rich man after all.

"No but we've ordered pizza if you don't mind." He smiled again much wider then strut into the room to get changed so they can have their dinner and sleep. It might've been a long day for them.

She also made her way to her room to change into something more comfortable before the dinner which happens to be a set of pink sweats. Her hair is in one of those tight caps that she uses to sleep because she is too lazy to tie any veil. Besides, who is she going to impress? None of them, not even her new groom. It doesn't even feel like she is married, she still feels like Suhayr Imraan Khalid not Mrs. El-Kanemi.

The men came out in their grey sweatpants and white shirts. Why are they even matching like some girls? She rolled her eyes and watch Mu'adh making his way to the door probably to get the pizza from the delivery man that just rang the doorbell. She's prayed ishā so she opened her stomach to the widest to push more food into her mouth. Her heart leaped when she saw two boxes of pizza, yum.

"You guys are now married which means I'm going to use the room alone while you share the other." Mu'adh commented after swallowing a whole slice of pizza then push down some coco cola soda down his throat.

"Are you crazy? We are only 'married' but not fully." Suhayr put emphasis on the married part while glaring hotly at Mu'adh.

"Exactly." Sa'eed commented so that she won't think he wants to sleep with her too. The girl is still childish and anything he does will make her think of something different.

"Aww, they are already ganging up on me because they are 'married', how cute. But please think about it this way. I sleep all over the bed and I will not sleep on the floor so it's really your choice to save your husband's ass." He shrugged, pushing more pizza into his mouth.

"I don't care what happens to him or if he dies. All I know is, he won't sleep in my room." She drank down her sprite in one go then opened another one.

"Why do you mind us sleeping in the same room now? You said you won't let me touch you, are you afraid now?" Sa'eed mocked making Suhayr see red, her face flushing red in anger but she swallowed hard.

"I don't mind but I don't trust men. Like I said, I'm full package. Who knows where your hands will land in your sleep?" She grinned mischievously when he narrowed his eyes before he chuckled like he's accepted a challenge.

"And I told you there is nothing that can take away my mental focus in your body so keep calm and help me save myself from that animal." He pointed his fork at Mu'adh, yes, he eats damn pizza with a fork.

"I will get back at you for this, Mr. El-Kanemi." She gritted out. She is a woman after all, she will feel hurt after being named something close to an object. She will make him regret crossing her path, they are now married.
