Story 2 - Chapter 6
Story 2
The Gentleman Who Stole My Heart
Chapter 6
I fidgeted with the edge of my dupatta as we walked up the stairs. His mansion was beautiful. The details were intricately beautiful piece of craft. From the marble to the railings everything was perfect. He showed me around the upper living hall, home theater and terrace garden. Then he led me to a room. 'This is my room." he said. Pity that he did not stay in this beautiful room.
"Well, it's cleaner than usual." He said grinning sheepishly. I smiled. Why was he telling me that?
" The interiors of this room are lovelier than the ones out." I said looking at the beautiful wallpaper behind his bed.
"I designed my room, so obviously." He said proudly.
"Oh!" I said smiling.
"Well I must say, I have underestimated simplicity for too long!" He tilted his head over to my side and said in a husky voice. I cocked my head to his side. Our eyes met. That glowing grin on his face. I smiled formally, and turned back to the wallpaper.
"You make simplicity more beautiful!" He added as I walked ahead to the huge balcony.
I smiled and looked at the sky.
"Are you always like this?'
" like what?" I asked immediately.
He smiled at my sudden response, "like...silent, like. umm...like this!" He shrugged.
I blinked baffled. "No.No. I talk a lot, that's what they say...ask my Daadi she will tell you!" I grinned looking away.
"Hmm..interesting. So you are Daadi's girl!" He said placing his hands on the railing. His left hand touching my right.
I gave a smug smile. If only he knew the wars we had. "Nope. Mom!"
"Hmm.. You?" I asked out of curiosity.
"S.H!" He grinned.
Evident! My guess was right. He loved his grandmother.
"So..?" He asked turning to me.
I shrugged not understanding, what he meant.
He smiled yet again. His eyes made me shy. But Why?
"Thank you!" He whispered in my ears. I stiffened at the proximity. Thank you for what?
"For?" I asked looking confused.
He held my hand immediately and slipped his fingers into the grooves between mine. Raising my hand in his hold he kissed it. Right the ring! His ring– that I took extra care to wear. I wore rings on fingers of both hands. Four in total. So that no one knows. He spotted it. Sherlock! Amazing observing power. He kissed me...not that he hasn't done that before.
I smiled. His lips over my hand. I was in a fix. Our eyes locked. Damn. He was moving closer. Second kiss? Already? Was I ready? Wasn't I expecting it? No I wasn't! Maybe halfway. I mean he was interrupted yesterday. So it was balance outstanding.Shoot! No banker head.
"So shall we?" He asked.
Permission to kiss? And him? Did he just order some chivalry online - less than twenty four hours delivery?
"Umm.." How do I answer that? Isn't he a little too fast? Right, two years ,indeed fast. Hey but for me it's not even a week. But those lips. Shit no!
He was interestingly looking straight into my eyes.
"Arjun.." What was I saying? Yeah, it's a little too early.
"Hmm!" He said waiting. "It's early isn't it?"
He looked amused. Did I crack some really good joke?
"We have been here for more then ten minutes. I don't mind if you'd want to stay longer. Umm..but I guess the others are waiting for us downstairs. " he sort of looked baffled.
Time machine please. I need to go back and change my words. Shit! What was I even thinking? On no! Did he understand? Please, I hope not. This was embarrassing. Not my fault. On first meeting a kiss and on third a miss. What else should I expect? To add I had never been in a relationship before, so how on earth was I supposed to understand the complicity of everything?
"No we should go." I said quickly and started walking with him behind me.

Woah. Was Panditji a little crazy? Week - one week? That was the first option in the Shaadi Date Menu. Thankfully, the ladies on both sides protested. Twelve days was the next. Luckily enough mom turned to me and we had a little chat, courtesy our eyes. She asked for the next. Two weeks. She had looked at me yet again. I protested again. She asked for the next. Seven months. His 'Sweetheart ' immediately panicked. So two weeks was decided. Two weeks and I would be married to Arjun . I would live with him. I would not be living at home. Tonight I was sure I was going to cry on mom's lap. This isn't fair. Can't Arjun come to our home? Why does the girl have to go every time?
The Pooja happened in the blink of an eye. I was so lost thinking about how my life would change that I did not realise when two hours passed and we were at the dinner table.
Dinner went still faster. The elders did the talking. I was occasionally adding a few words to the conversation among Arjun , his cousin Karan and me.
While everyone settled in the garden for a after dinner talk and desert. I asked the maid to show me the they washroom. His family was quite modern in thinking and traditional in practices. Nice people.
I stepped out of the washroom, of what I guessed was the guest room. I was about to move out when a figure walked in. Arjun. He quickly shut the door. What!
I looked at him taken aback and slightly scared. "Arjun?"
He stared at me.
Okay don't creep me out say something.
"I wanted to talk. You okay with the wedding and engagement dates right?"
I nodded, a positive.
"Nisha, you aren't forced right?" He asked concerned.
"No. " I smiled.
He smiled. "I can't wait!"
Okay. This made my cheeks warm. He hugged me. I was surprised - he held me so carefully yet so desperately. Like he knew me since ages. It was alike the hug I gave my mother. I couldn't respond in anyway. So I simply stood.
"Are you okay?" I asked as he pulled apart.
"Yeah!" His voice sounded low.
I simply smiled." Okay. " I looked at the door, proceeding slowly towards it. Before I could understand something propelled me back. I blinked. I was in his arms. He had pulled me by my wrist and his hand was around my waist. He had quickly made my hands rest on his kurta. I looked at his eyes unable to think of anything but feel the proximity.
"So...shall we?" He said playfully. I couldn't continue looking into those eyes. They put me at discomfort. Not the kind you avoid. The kind that makes you feel mushy. I understood what he was hinting at. And this time I knew I wasn't wrong.
"Nisha!" He said gazing down at me. I looked up slowly. This was all so new and profoundly enchanting and captivating.
"Is it still early ? " He had a smug smile on his charming face.
"Arjun." I was blushing like never below. That smile wasn't ready to leave my face.
"That's a yes!" He said impressed.
I gaped. "No."
"So it's a no?" He asked baffled. Not early?
"No." I blinked. What was the yes for? Early? Not? Or kiss?
He looked at me bemused. His eyes dilated. "Let's quit!" He said. Oh, so we weren't, ...umm..kissing.
But the next moment his lips pressed against mine. Oh, it meant quit the talk I guess. A 'oh' escaped my lips but it wasn't heard. His lips moved over my lower, then the upper and finally I felt his tongue in my mouth. His hands moving back and forth my waist and back. Oh was I capable of melting? Shit! Could humans melt?
Soon my hands moved to his neck. My neck tilted and I was mimicking his acts. I was kissing him back! He was contagious! His kisses were too!
I need your POV , of what you feel so far! LoL this story is very far from reality that I know. 😂
