CRAZY FRIENDS

Happy reading.....

Bela Sharma walked inside the company 'Metro Events,' admiring the sleek and modern atmosphere that reflected its prestigious reputation. The lobby was a symphony of glass and steel, with elegant decor that exuded sophistication. The company’s name stood proudly on the wall, its bold letters a testament to its prominence in the event management industry.

She waited anxiously for her interview, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nerves. When the PA called her name, Bela stood up, smoothing down her dress, and walked confidently towards the interview room. As she entered, she saw a young man sitting behind a large mahogany desk. His frameless glasses framed his sharp, black eyes, and he wore a tailored suit that highlighted his handsome features.

"Good morning, Mr. Dhawan," Bela greeted, trying to steady her voice.

Aditya Dhawan looked up from his desk and smiled warmly, noticing her nervousness.

"Good morning, Bela. Please, have a seat," he said, gesturing to the chair opposite him.

Bela sat down, her hands clasped tightly in her lap. Aditya extended his hand for her profile, and she handed it over with a slight tremor in her fingers. He scanned her resume quickly, then looked up at her.

"Tell me about yourself, Bela," Aditya began, his tone encouraging.

"Well, I recently graduated and, although I don't have professional experience in event management, I've always been involved in organizing family functions and community events. I have a keen eye for detail and I learn quickly. I'm passionate about creating memorable experiences and I believe I can bring a fresh perspective to your team," Bela explained, gaining confidence as she spoke.

Aditya nodded thoughtfully. "It's impressive that you've taken initiative in organizing events on your own. Can you give me an example of an event you've managed?"

Bela smiled, recalling one of her favorite memories. "Last year, I organized my cousin's wedding. It was a large event with over 300 guests. I handled everything from coordinating with vendors to managing the guest list and ensuring that everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and I learned a lot about handling pressure and multitasking."

Aditya leaned back in his chair, clearly impressed. "That's quite an accomplishment, Bela. Event management requires a lot of skills, and it sounds like you have a good foundation. How do you handle unexpected challenges?"

"I believe in staying calm and thinking on my feet. During the wedding, one of the caterers cancelled at the last minute. I quickly contacted another vendor I had on standby and managed to resolve the issue without anyone noticing. It's all about being prepared and adaptable," Bela replied confidently.

Aditya smiled, satisfied with her answers. "You seem to have a natural talent for this field. I have one last question: what motivates you to work in event management?"

Bela paused, choosing her words carefully. "I love the idea of creating unforgettable moments for people. Seeing the joy and satisfaction on their faces when everything comes together perfectly is incredibly rewarding for me. I want to be part of those moments and make a positive impact through my work."

Aditya nodded appreciatively. "Thank you, Bela. That's all I needed to hear. You can relax now."

Bela waited with bated breath as Aditya reviewed her answers. After what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke.

"Congratulations, Bela. You've got the job," Aditya announced, a smile spreading across his face.

Bela's eyes widened in shock. "Really? Thank you so much!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement.

Aditya chuckled. "Yes, really. I believe you'll be a great addition to our team. Plus, Mahir spoke highly of you, so I have no doubts."

Bela's heart swelled with gratitude.

"Mahir did? He didn't mention anything to me." she whispered loud unknowingly then immediately apologizing for her behaviour.

"I am sorry Mr. Aditya."

Aditya smiled and nodded. "Don't. We both are like friends. He wanted to make sure you felt comfortable and supported. He seems to care a lot about your success."

Bela smiled, feeling a warm glow of appreciation for Mahir. "I'll have to thank him later."

Aditya picked up the intercom and pressed a button. "Anu, can you come to my office, please?"

A few minutes later, a young woman with short, stylish hair and a friendly smile entered the room. She wore a chic outfit that reflected her confident demeanor.

"Anu, this is Bela Sharma, our new team member. Bela, this is Anu Batra, one of our experienced event managers. She'll be showing you around and explaining your first assignment," Aditya introduced them.

She couldn't help but notice how Anu's eyes lingered on Aditya a bit deliberately and before shifting her focus on her.

This disease is called deluluism. Too much of watching dramas and reading fictions can actually turn anyone like this, Bela thought shaking her head

Anu extended her hand with a warm smile. "Nice to meet you, Bela. Welcome to Metro Events."

Bela shook her hand, feeling instantly at ease. "Nice to meet you too, Anu."

"Come on, I'll show you around and introduce you to the team," Anu said, leading Bela out of the office.

As they walked through the bustling office, Anu explained the upcoming event. "We have a big project coming up—a proposal event for a wealthy client. It's a surprise proposal, so everything has to be perfect. You'll be working with my team to make sure it all goes smoothly."

Bela listened attentively, absorbing every detail. "That sounds exciting and challenging. I'm looking forward to it."

Anu smiled. "You'll do great, Bela. We have a fantastic team, and I'm sure you'll fit right in. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or need help."

As they continued their tour, Bela felt a growing sense of excitement and anticipation. She was ready to take on this new challenge and make her mark in the world of event management. With supportive colleagues like Anu and the unexpected kindness from Mahir, she felt confident that she was on the right path.

Bela settled into her new job comfortably, quickly adapting to the bustling environment of Metro Events. When the lunch break rolled around, Anu approached her with a friendly smile.

"Hey, Bela! Want to join me at the office canteen for lunch?" Anu asked.

"I'd love to," Bela replied, glad for the company.

As they sat down after ordering their meals, Anu leaned in, her curiosity evident. "So, Bela, tell me about yourself. How are you finding everything so far?"

Bela smiled, feeling a bit more relaxed. "I'm loving it here. The atmosphere is so energetic, and everyone seems really supportive. It's a bit overwhelming, but in a good way."

Anu nodded approvingly. "That's great to hear. I like your enthusiasm. It’s refreshing. By the way, I didn't know Mahir had such a beautiful and cute friend. That idiot never told me, even though we’ve been working together for three years!"

Bela's eyes widened in surprise. "You’re friends with Mahir?"

Anu chuckled. "Yeah, we’ve known each other since he joined the company. He's like an annoying brother sometimes, but he’s a good guy."

Bela laughed, still processing the information. "I didn’t know he had friends here. He never mentioned it."

Anu leaned closer, clearly intrigued. "So, how did you two meet?"

Bela hesitated, then decided to share the story. "We met on a train. It was a bit of a dramatic encounter, actually. There was this girl who tried to... well, harm herself, and we stepped in to help. After that, Mahir offered me a place to stay since I was new to Mumbai and didn't have any other options."

Anu's jaw dropped. "He brought you to his home? That’s... unexpected. Mahir never told us about this."

Then, she whipped out her phone and immediately dialed Mahir’s number. Bela watched in amusement and curiosity as Anu’s expression turned stern.

"Mahir Sehgal! How dare you not tell me about Bela staying at your place?" Anu exclaimed, her voice loud enough to turn heads in the canteen.

Bela stifled a giggle, surprised at the ease with which Anu scolded Mahir.

"Calm down, Anu. I was going to tell you eventually," Mahir's voice crackled through the phone.

"Eventually? Really? You better take good care of her, or you'll answer to me," Anu retorted, rolling her eyes dramatically.

Mahir sighed on the other end. "Yes, yes, I'll take care of her. Just make sure she feels comfortable at work. Help her get used to everything."

Anu grinned, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "Don't worry, she's my friend now. We'll be just fine."

Bela smiled at their banter, a warm feeling of belonging washing over her. Yet, a tiny part of her felt a twinge of jealousy. Anu and Mahir talked so informally and effortlessly. She realized that she had never had a male best friend who could joke around with her like that, someone who would do anything for her without hesitation.

As she watched Anu put her phone away, Bela’s mind wandered. She had always seen characters in movies and dramas with those trustable, playful yet calm and composed friends. She wondered if she could ever have that kind of relationship with Mahir.

Anu noticed Bela's thoughtful expression and nudged her gently. "Hey, you okay? You seem lost in thought."

Bela snapped out of her reverie and smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking."

Anu raised an eyebrow. "About Mahir?"

Bela laughed softly. "Maybe a little. I was just wondering if he’ll ever be comfortable enough to talk to me like that, without any filter. Or if he’ll just find me annoying with my silly antics."

Anu could really see Bela's an unfiltered yet innocent nature through her talks. She leaned back, her expression softening.

"Mahir's a great guy, Bela. He might take a while to open up completely, but once he does, he’s a friend for life. Give it time. You’ve already made an impression on him, trust me. Otherwise he's not someone who can care about a woman who's just met. This shows he really treats you as his one of those closed ones in his life "

Bela nodded, feeling a bit more amazed at the newfound information.
She thought he could befriend anybody just like with that cool personality of his.

Anu smiled, patting Bela's hand. "Don't think about it took much. You aren't alone here anymore. You have me and the rest of the team to lean on. We’re all here for you."

Bela felt a surge of gratitude for Anu's kindness and the unexpected bond they were forming. As they finished their lunch and headed back to the office, she couldn't help but feel hopeful about the new friendships and possibilities awaiting her.

Office hours finally ended, and Anu approached Bela with a friendly offer. "Need a lift home? I can drop you off."

Bela smiled but shook her head. "Thanks, Anu, but our directions are opposite. Besides, Mahir is coming to pick me up."

Anu winked, a teasing glint in her eyes. "Ah, I see how it is. Well, have fun! Bye for now."

Bela blushed slightly as Anu walked away, waving goodbye. She stood outside the office building, waiting for Mahir. When he finally arrived, she noticed a large bag filled with boxes and covers in his hand.

"What's all this?" Bela asked, eyeing the bag curiously.

"Booze for the party tonight," Mahir said with a grin. "My friends would kill me if I showed up empty-handed."

Bela's eyes widened in shock. "Booze? I haven't touched alcohol since my college days, and even then, it was just a secret sip with my peers. My father banned me and my sister from drinking. He said we could only drink when we had partners."

Mahir chuckled. "Well, tonight might be an exception. Let's get going."

They reached Mahir's place, and Bela climbed down from the bike to help carry the bag. As Mahir parked the bike, a sudden sound startled both of them.

"Surprise!" A chorus of voices shouted as a bunch of young people threw confetti into the air.

But instead of the expected reaction, the group froze, staring in surprise at Bela.

Mahir, carrying the bag, walked up and found his friends gawking at Bela. "Hey, don't scare her like that!"

Tanya, a badass girl with an edgy haircut and leather jacket, stepped forward. "Well, well, Mahir. Who’s the lovely lady?"

Bela blushed under their collective gaze.

Mahir sighed, "Everyone, this is Bela, my new housemate. Bela, meet my friends: Tanya, Daksh, Pratham, Raima, and Ruhaan."

Daksh, a playful guy with a mischievous glint in his eyes, stepped forward, giving a mock bow. "At your service, m'lady."

Raima, usually silent but with a twinkle of mischief, smiled warmly at Bela. "Nice to meet you, Bela."

Tanya, the badass of the group, gave Bela an approving nod. "Welcome to the madhouse."

Pratham, the responsible one, offered a polite handshake. "Good to have you here, Bela. If you need anything, just let us know."

Ruhaan, known for his endless tricks, grinned widely. "Don't let them scare you off. We’re not as crazy as we seem. Well, most of us."

Bela laughed, feeling more at ease with their friendly banter. "Nice to meet you all."

Mahir set down the bag of booze with a thud. "Now, who's ready to party?"

Raima raised an eyebrow. "Party? I thought we were here for a quiet night of chatting and a movie night."

Ruhaan burst out laughing. "Speak for yourself, Raima. I'm here for the booze and fun."

As the friends bantered back and forth, Mahir led Bela inside. "Make yourself at home, Bela. These guys might seem crazy, but they're good people."

Bela smiled, feeling a sense of warmth and belonging. "Thanks, Mahir. I think I’m going to like it here."

With that, the group settled in for a night of fun, laughter, and new friendships, as Bela found herself feeling more at home than she ever expected.
