Bright's POV
My father was not kidding when he said running the company was not easy. I know what I signed up for but even though he didn't force me, I wanted to be part of the business world.
My door knocked as I was interrupted from my virtual meeting. It's not a big deal thought because it was just wrapping up for the day.
"Mr. Vachirawit-" Mrs. London began to say put I stopped her.
"No need to worry Mr. Atthaphan, you will have my full support. We will talk soon." I ended the call as I shut my laptop. "Yes, Mrs. London" I pat my attention to her.
"Sir, you have a someone here to see you." She said.
"It is Win?" I asked her.
"No, It's....Mr. Kanawat." She told me.
"Bring him in." I told her.
"Okay Kha." She said as she excuses herself. I saw Gulf walking in.
"It's been a long time P'bright. When are you planning to take me out to dinner?" Gulf questions and I smirk at him.
"Does this ring on my finger not apply to you that I am not allowed to take no other man on a date" I told him and Gulf chuckles.
"Oooh, I heard about your unexpected marriage between you and the son of Metawin Cooperations. I also heard they're hotel was about to shut down but you saved it." Gulf mentioned as I shook my head.
"The marriage was unexpected but it wasn't an accident or a mistake. I simply wanted to marry Win." I admit to him.
"I'm glad to hear but I miss you at school Phi." Gulf said.
"I'll be back tomorrow actually." I told him and I saw a huge smile on his face.
"Thank god and also, you heard about the annual banquet, right? A bunch of higher power business groups are throwing this huge ass party. My family was invited and my father is forcing me to go." Gulf mentioned and I guess I do recall about some party.
"Isn't it this Friday?" I asked and Gulf nodded.
"You should definitely come and it would be quite unfortunate is the billionaire Son of Bangkok doesn't show up." Gulf tries to bate me and I know what he's doing.
"It's not like I have a choice. I'll just use the party as a way to talk to some on my investors." I told Gulf.
"And you're bringing your husband, right?" He smirked at me.
"It's up to Win if he wants to. I can just go alone." I admit to him.
"It doesn't really matter if he comes are not. Just make sure you keep your word about coming. I'll see you tomorrow at school." Gulf admitted as he excuses himself out of my office.
Now this business banquet has me wondering who will show up. Will my parents be there or maybe The Tontawan family might as well. I guess it doesn't matter if Tu's parents show. Tu is overseas and she's not coming back.
***********
I wrap this things up quickly with work and finally went down to eat dinner. I already see Win at the table. I took a seat in front of him as we face each other. The food was placed center of the table as the aroma of the food hit my nose.
It's not a mistake that Mrs. London's cooking is the best.
"How was school?" I started the conversation.
"Same as always."I admit to him.
"You should probably transfer to mine. I'd like to see you more." I admit to him and I heard a scoff coming from Win's mouth.
"Schools the only place I get my freedom, Bright. Do you really want to take that away from me too?" He questioned me.
"Of course not but it's not a big deal." I told him.
"It is! I'm not changing schools. End of discussion." He stated as began to eat his food. I did the same.
"Since you refuse to switch schools, at least be my date this Friday at the Annual banquet." I suggested.
"Banquet? Is it for business?" Win asked me and I nodded. "It sounds more like an invitation. It would be embarrassing if Metawin Cooperations don't attend." He said and it sounds like he is agreeing to come with me.
"So you'll go?" I asked. Just to make sure.
"Sure." Win agreed.
9:03pm
Win has avoided my attempts to seduce him. It seems that he is cautious around me and he is not the same guys that I use to know. Being five years apart really changes peoples. I finished my shower and had a towel around my torso. I saw Win already in bed just scrolling through his phone.
I walked towards him as I await to see if he notices me.
"You need something?" Win looked up at me.
"Pass me my underwear that is beside you." I told him.
"No, you get it yourself." Win refuses and I thought he might say that.
"If you insist." I said as I purposely reach over to grab it while my entire body is practically on top of him.
"Hurry up Bright. You're suffocating me." Win whined while I am still on top of him.
"I got it." I finally got off him.
"Pfft! Annoying." I heard Win muttering. I smirked as I walked to my full length mirror.
I slowly unwrap my towel off me as I stood fully naked in the mirror. From the the corner of my eye, I peak through the mirror and saw Win staring at my reflection. He looked up to my first as we made eye contact. His eyes expanded as he covered his entire head under the sheets.
"It's okay to look. Everything about me is yours. That includes my body." I told him but Win's head as still covered.
I walked towards him and removed the sheet from over his head. Win was scrunched up like a ball. "Don't be afraid to look at me. I'm your husband." I stated.
"I'm not afraid. I just want to give you privacy." Win said.
"I want no privacy between me and you." I stated once again as I push Win completely on the bed. I climbed on top of him and I moved a piece of his hair out of his face. "When will you forgive me? I have my reasons but through it all, I still choose you." I admit to him.
"Why did you cheat on me?" Was I really a bad boyfriend?" Win questioned me. I saw the sadness in his eyes and I know he always wondered why.
I sighed and climbed off him and and put on my underwear. I sat back down on the bed and looked deeply into Win's eyes.
"I was an arranged marriage with the daughter of Tontawan Empire. It was strictly a business relationship at the time but her family really wanted me to be their son. They invested billions into
our company and we were working together. Then Tu wanted to finish her school overseas in the UK and the engagement was officially called off." I explained the whole truth to Win.
"Then you married me?" Win asked.
"I married you because I love you. My feelings for you never changed." I admit to him. I rest my hand onto his cheek bone as my thumb caress it.
I leaned myself close to his lips as I shut my eyes to kiss him but I felt a pinch gripping my lips together.
"I'm not that easy Bright. You got engaged without telling me and you cheated. I can't forgive you that easily." Win said to me.
"But I didn't have a choice. It was-"
"You should have told me sooner instead of dodging me over and over and humiliating me on our anniversary. You can't be forgiving that easily." I saw the seriousness in Win's eyes.
He really is a different person from before. He's more mature, determined, and straightforward. I grab ahold onto Win's wrist as I prepare for what I am going to say next.
"Let me make it up to you. I want to prove to you that you are the only person in my eyes." I stated.
Win's face was turning a dark shade of red as I saw the blush appearing on his cheeks. I smirked as I pinched his cheek a little with my thumb.
"I'm- tired. I would like to go to bed." Win said rather quickly as he wrapped himself in the sheets. I leaned down towards his and kissed his forehead.
"Goodnight." I pet his head.
I finished putting on my sleep clothing and was ready to join Win to bed, but my phone buzzed on the nightstand and I looked to see it was my mother calling. I decided to take the call into the bathroom while Win sleeps peacefully.
"Hello Ma, why are you calling me so late?" I questioned her.
"I hope you're going to the banquet this Friday. You have to present us since me and your father won't make it this year." My mother told me.
"Don't worry Ma, I will be there." I assured her.
"Did I disturbed you and your.....husband? You got married and didn't tell us. We had to find out from the media and news. You know I respect your decision but I would like to know before everyone else Vachirawit." She said.
"I apologize for keeping you in the dark but I promised I married for the right reason. I love him Ma." I admit to her.
"I never liked the idea of you getting engaged to Tu. You two wouldn't have worked out." My mom said to me.
"I wish Dad had the same mind set as you." I admit to her.
"Don't worry about him. Your dad has a narrow mind. You're an adult. Now, I will let you get some rest. Don't forget the Banquet." My mother reminds me.
"Yes, yes I won't forget. Goodnight." I hung up on her. I walked out of the bathroom as already saw Win fast asleep.
His faint snore is the most satisfying sound. I walked up to him and moved a bit of his messy hair from his face.
"I can't wait for the day for you to love me again." I whispered as I kissed his forehead gently.
