Part-82
"So this was the reason why Vidhushi asked me to tell you to contact her, that she can go the hospital with you." Randhir concluded as Sanyukta finished with her tale about Vidhushi.
They were sitting in a diner waiting for their lunch while discussing about the events happened from morning till then. It was one of their favorite time, sitting with each other doing nothing and talking about all the random stuffs with least of the worries about the surrounding.
"Uh-hmm." She nodded, looking around her surrounding and drinking the beauty of the place.
It was a small diner situated few streets down the road from the office. The place was neither crowed nor completely vacant. Just was filled with right amount of people to keep Sanyukta at ease. Thank god it wasn't crowed because truthfully she wasn't a big fan of crowds, it make her feel suffocated.
"Loved the place?" Randhir asked as he saw her admiring the place.
"Yes." She agreed shifting her attention back to the man sitting in front of her. "Had you been here before?" She asked.
"This place is quite old, around 50-60 years. I first came here with dad when I was 10 and since then I'm in love with this place. Dad told me this diner was very famous in 80s and 90s. Even mom and dad had their first date here." Randhir narrated the things he knew.
"Really?" Sanyukta asked. Her amazed tone was clear indication how much she was loving this new information.
"Yup." He smiled.
"It looks like not many people now a days consider coming here."
"The new trends of dining in a five star hotel, going to pubs and clubs and preferring quick meals of pizza and burger over something what this place serve are some of the reason it isn't much crowed."
"You are in no position to judge other people Randhir because you are no different. In fact we are one of them."
"Don't get me wrong, baby, I'm not judging anyone. I'm just stating the fact. Yes, I'm like the person I had described a moment ago but it doesn't harm me to come to this place once in while."
"May be not many people these days know about this place. This could also be a reason. Like I was unaware of this place until you told me." She explained.
"May be." He shrugged.
"Why haven't you brought me here before?"
"I don't know. May be because I thought you will not like it as it is quite old and nothing fancy, but today I thought to give it a try." He shrugged again.
"This place is relaxing. The interior gives kind of a cozy feeling."
"I know. I had been a lot here during my college days and before I met you. This was my escape from all the commotion and hustle bustle going in my life."
"Thank you for letting me know about the important parts of your life." She said grabbing his palm and giving it a light squeeze. She was glad that he was opening about the little things of his past and letting her in.
"You are my escape now." He said bring her palm to his lips and kissing her knuckles softly. "I don't need anything except you in my life."
Their conversation came to a halt as the lunch they had ordered appeared in front of them.
"Thank you." Randhir said to the waiter.
"So Randhir tell me how does it feel to be proven wrong." Sanyukta raised her brows with a smirk plastered on her delightful lips.
"Huh!" Randhir dropped his fork and looked at her in confusion.
"You were so sure that Vidhushi wanna meet me so that she can have a little inside scoop of our much talked holidays in Goa but it seems like we had other matters in our hand." Sanyukta chuckled as finished her sentence.
The atmosphere somehow had become too serious and she was trying to bring back the normality. This lunch was not meant for some serious talk.
"Please Sanyukta." Randhir rolled his eyes and picked up his fork again before replying to her. "Don't act as if my sister was some saint and the topic was never brought up during the whole meet. I'm sure she was persistent enough to make you spill something. May be not all but might be few things."
"What do you mean Randhir?" She frowned. "Do you think I'm not capable enough to keep a little secret?"
"I'm not referring to you in particular, sweetheart." Oh! That sweetheart was anything but sweet. He was mocking her, without a doubt. "Hasn't in you woman clan have something with keeping secrets, especially about the things which you are asked not to tell. Women can't keep secrets. That's a fact." He laughed.
For the very first time she was not liking the sound of his laugh. This annoying self-centric jerk of her husband. All she wanted was to punch him hard. God! Now she was being violent too. Huh! She was not the one to believe in physical harm but this man has not left her with any other option.
"You are being extremely rude." She huffed crossing her arms.
"People often call truth as rude too. Synonyms you see." He winked before another fit of laughter erupted from his mouth.
"Okay I understand Randhir that you don't think very highly of us women when it comes to keeping secret." Sanyukta breathed before continuing further. Calming herself down, telling why her husband doesn't deserve a punch on his face. Just because it will ruined his handsome face for a while. Enough said. "But there is a difference between telling secrets, spreading gossip and talking about a very intimate moment with somebody else."
"Um.. You wanna say that like other women you don't want to tell your friends or other close female about that erotic experience of yours or how beautiful your vacation was or, or better how caring and loving your husband was throughout to make them envy you." He smirked.
"Are we going all stereotype and assume things? Huh!" She rolled her eyes in response.
"You tell me." He shrugged.
"You know it's not about making other women jealous." Randhir raised his brow at her statement. "Not always." She glared him.
"Fine continue." He waved his hand.
"May be some women tell others about their intimate relationship to make them jealous but it could also be one of the reason that they want to share their feelings with someone close to them. And just for your information I'm none of the type."
"I know." Randhir said as his thumb drew random patterns on the back of her palm.
"I don't like sharing my personal stuffs with others. I don't want their opinions. I don't need other 'oh my good' or 'how romantic' from some other woman to tell me that. I'm well aware that what was oh my god and what was extremely romantic." She said. "Or may be I never had a best friend before to share things with her and therefore I'm like this." She chuckled.
"You have me now."
"I know.
Randhir was about to say something when his cellphone buzzed with a call.
"Hello." Randhir answered.
"OK no problem. I hope everything is fine." Randhir added before disconnecting the call.
"Anything important?" Sanyukta asked.
"Nah! Parth that was. He was just telling me Vidhushi has asked him to reach home quickly so he asked me to attend the next meeting." Randhir explained.
"Seems like Vidhushi is ready with her surprise." Sanyukta grinned.
"We Shekhawat's are giving to much surprises to our beloved these days." He mocked.
"You want something else?" Randhir asked Sanyukta after they were done with the lunch.
"Ice cream." She said excitedly.
"Are these the signs of some craving Sanyukta? Are we also expecting something or I should say someone princess?" He said as he leaned forward.
"Sorry to break the bubble Randhir but I guess this doesn't work so quickly. We just started getting intimate a week back." She said.
"I know princess I was just joking." He cracked his breath taking smile. She too knew he was joking but something in his eyes was telling her that he wish it could be true.
"And as much as I remember none of our protection were forged." She winked making him amazed again because of her bold statement.
"I really like this side of yours."
"This side is just for you."
"Good, because I don't like to share." He smirked.
