Part-77
'When you are shabbily dressed people remember your clothes but when you are elegantly dress people remember you.'
Clothes don't define you, your personality does. True.
But nobody can deny the fact that may be, a little pinch of our personality is defined by our clothes. Our style speaks a lot about oneself.
For past half and hour Randhir was trying to make Sanyukta understand this only. Of course he don't have any problems with her current wardrobe but little change in her wardrobe will not harm her either.
By no means he was asking her to discard all her clothes, in fact he is not asking to discard any, all he was asking her to do was add this few new once in addition to already what she has.
They are in goa. They are here for vacation and all he asking her was to enjoy.
"One needs a company to enjoy not clothes." She twitched her lips
"So what are you planning roaming all naked in goa?" He smirked.
"Ha ha.. That was so funny." She replied. Her voice dripping in sarcasm.
"Tell me one reason you don't want to wear all this." He asked in a serious tone now.
"Because I had never worn this type of clothes Randhir." She said eyeing the various dresses Randhir was holding. It included few sundress short pants crop top tank tops and many more. "I will not feel comfortable." She added to emphasis her point.
"How will you know you will feel comfortable or not if you will not try all this."
"Why are you so demanding?" She whispered yelled in irritation. "What is the problem with my current attire?" She asked indicating her kurti and jeans.
"Sir do you both need any help." The attendant asked ask the couple. She was observing both of them quarreling from long time.
"No." Randhir snapped without sparing the girl any glance, his whole attention was on his stubborn wife. "Why are you stubborn?" He growled.
"I'm not gonna try any of these." She declared crossing her arms. That was enough of the patience for Randhir. He only knew how is was keeping his anger in check. Why the hell he had to fall in love with a stubborn girl like her. Damn his stupid heart.
"You better go inside the trial room and try it your self or I will have to strip you here and make you try all this. Choice is yours and I hope you choose former one saving yourself from the embarrassment and my energy which I could use later."
In spite of their current situation Sanyukta can not help but blush at his last sentence.
"Of course you are not gonna do any such thing." She challenged, hiding the blush.
"Don't challenge me princess." He smirked. Hush! Things were little normal now. "I can do anything." He said as his one hand rested on the hem of her kurti.
"Want me to show." He huskily whispered in her ear.
"Fine I'll will try." She gave up because she knew he wasn't going to give up until he has his wish fulfilled. "But answer me one thing Randhir.."
"Are you ever out of questions?"
"No." She smiled cheekily.
"Ask."
"Why are you so adamant to make me try all these dresses. Are you ashamed to take me out like this," She gestured to her cloth. "In my boring look. Will it be embarrassing for you Randhir? If yes, I will gladly were all this for you. I only told you I will not wear because in my entire life I haven't. You know why, not because I never wanted to but because I wasn't allowed. My father was against all this and now even when you are asking me to wear I can't because now feel awkward."
For a second or so Randhir was numb to react to her confession. How can he forget that his princess is still a delicate doll with things still bothering her now and then. No matter how hard he try to make her forget those things but he know it is hard. This damn brain has habit of reminding of unpleasant memories when least required. Memories. Yeah right! All that must be hardly any memory for her.
"Sanyukta.." He made her sit on chair nearby and he himself kneeled in front of her. "Do you remember what I once said about being ashamed about you?" He asked kissing both her palms and then holding it in between his.
She simply nodded. How can she forget that day. They kissed for the very time time.
"So tell me again what did I said. I guess I don't remember."
"You said that you can never be ashamed of me." She replied without matching his gaze. She herself knew he can't. That came out just in spur of moment.
"So how can you think that. Again." He told her softly. "I love whatever you wear. In fact these days I'll prefer you without any of them." He winked making her smile a bit.
"I just asked you to try all this because I want you to experience everything. Just try them once. If you will be uncomfortable I'm not going to insist you to wear them. And moreover I'm with you, you have nothing to be worried about. A little change is refreshing. Be it in anything."
"Hmm." She nodded.
"Good girl." He lifted her chin and quickly pressed her lips with his for a brief kiss before she went to try all those clothes Randhir had selected.
--------------------
"Where we are heading now? Are we going to see your surprise?" She asked as Randhir put the shopping bags in the backseat.
After Randhir insistence Sanyukta did tried the the dresses and to his relief she was OK with them.
"Mm.." Randhir looked at his watch before answering. "It's quite late for surprise. I guess you have to now wait for tomorrow." He said with a sigh.
"So now what? Are we heading back to the house?" She asked with a little disappointment in her voice.
"Nope. So what we can't go for your surprise. I do have other things planned up my sleeves. We are going for some sight seeing. Yesterday you told me that you want to do all that with me so here I'm at your service ma'am." He smiled bowing a little."
"Come on then. Follow me." She giggled settling herself on the passengers seat.
-------------------------------
The day was eventful. After shopping they went for sight seeing. Randhir making sure she has the fullest experience of the place. The beam in her eyes when she saw those magnificent and breath taking church or those smiles she had on her lips when they visited the beach.
After a hectic and tiring day they were now sitting in one of the popular food joint in goa, gobbling some mouth watering goan cuisine. Who can deny a goan cuisine. None unless the person don't love eating.
"This place is my favourite." Randhir said. "They serve the best food here."
"Without a doubt." Sanyukta said as she was finished eating.
"Dessert time." Randhir rubbed his palms together and called the waiter.
"Two plates bebinca."
"I'm full. I can't eat anything now." She protested.
"It is a must eat thing Sanyukta. You just can't deny this. This dessert is Goa's speciality."
Whole day Sanyukta noticed the spark in his eyes when he use to tell something about the place. It felt like it was his duty to make her feel ecstatic about the place. Just like he feels. He wanted to make her experience everything whatever he had experienced.
"Eat." Randhir said forwarding the plate in her direction. "It taste heavenly."
"If you say so." She smiled digging her spoon in the dessert and then putting it in her mouth.
"Mm.." She moaned in satisfaction as taste of milk butter and jaggery melts in her mouth. "This is awesome."
"Told you." He smiled.
------------------------------
"How much time it will take us to reach back our home if we walk?" Sanyukta asked.
"Hmm.. Around thirty minutes." He replied.
"Can we just walk.. If you don't mind." "Of course I won't."
"But car?"
"I'll ask someone to pick it up later."
The night was calm with mild breeze blowing thus making the weather more beautiful. Randhir and Sanyukta were walking side by side with Randhir holding her hands and entwined their fingers. It was complete silence and for once they were enjoying the silence. All they could hear was click of their shoes and may be beats of the their hearts.
"I never met your friends Randhir." She asked breaking the silence.
"You have. Parth is my friend and yesterday only you met ragini." He answered nonchalantly.
"Do you have just like three friends. Ragini told me you had many." Randhir not spending time with other people apart from her was not something Sanyukta was liking. He has full right to spend time with his friend and other people who are important to him.
"I never met your friends either so we are equal."
"Don't change the topic Randhir. You can't always ignore or divert the topics. Tell me Randhir why don't you like normal man go out with your friends once in a while and party. You should go out with your friends meet them hang out with them. You can do things that don't involve me. You can spend time with other people. Marrying me should not hamper you as an individual."
"There is nothing to tell Sanyukta. Yes I had to quite lot of friends in college but keeping contacts with everybody wasn't important because they weren't of much importance. I'm in touch with people I find important." He said. "You can't be in touch with everybody. Life goes on and so do we. I'm glad they were part of my life once and I'm glad now they are not. With time the person important to you only should matter." He said. "We are grown up people now. We have responsibilities. Karan keep on travelling from city to city country to country. Parth and I too have lot of work Sanyukta. We are not more college going boys. We are men with responsibilities." By now they both were standing on the middle of the road.
"Men don't party. They don't hang out with their friends. That's all nonsense and excuse. Hanging out with your friends once in while to distress yourself from work load is not a crime."
"I don't know about other but I don't party anymore. I'm happy the way I'm now. I have you and that's all I want. End of decision." He grabbed her hand so that they can continue walking.
"Ragini told me, during college time you were intelligent and handsome but she never mentioned about your Casanova images. Has all this hatred you have for partying is because it has something to with you becoming a Casanova." She bluntly asked. There was no reason to shoot behind the bush.
"I.."
"You can tell me Randhir. I will be the last one to judge you. Past don't matter to me any more. I love you regardless." She cupped his face joining their foreheads.
"If past don't matter why are you so bothered to know about it."
"So that you don't have any burden." She whispered.
"After completing my post graduation, I started helping dad in business and since I was new and there wasn't much for me to do so I started partying with some of my college friends on regular basis. They were not best of the companies I tell you." He chuckled. "Dad was very lenient. He always use to say I will learn my responsibilities with time. His attitude made me more reckless. I would party every night get high on drink and sleep with don't know which girl. After month or two and Parth came to knew about this he tried to set me back on tracks but I was far gone. Still like a best friend he did his best to make me old Randhir and he somewhat succeeded too. Those people were not my company anymore. I started taking business seriously and made sure i keep my self involved in it but as said bad habits die hard..."
"Old habits die hard." She corrected.
"Bad too Sanyukta.. Bad ones too." He sadly smiled before continuing. "Alcohol and girls became one of my habits until I met you and the rest is history." He completed closing his eyes.
"I love you." Was all she replied.
"I love you too princess. You make me a better person. Your love makes me a better person."
