Chapter 65
Ishita's POV:
Stuffing chips in my mouth I switched between different web series and television shows at midnight. I have run out of Kdramas and now life is just boring because Armaan has strictly made the rules. I can't step out of the house and only work from home; he did arrange everything according to my liking including lots of food but with high security. Nothing feels exciting without him after that emergency meeting he's continuously busy with his work and returns home exhausted.
Sometimes he doesn't even come back home because either he's in another country or miles away. On the other hand, I'm stuck in a single home office handling work, I don't blame him for it because since Yusuf stepped into the market there are many ups and down including my company has faced numerous loses and gains. Armaan's working really hard to maintain his position because still people consider him a runaway Goel. I have heard many rumors about him that don't even make sense.
When the door creaked open, I turned behind and walked towards it. I could see Yash dragging a drunk Armaan inside the house. He also stumbled on the way, "What's going on?" I moved forward to check on Armaan. His body weight shifted on me, "Oh god..." almost lost my balance, but I managed to catch it on time. "Ishita... you didn't sleep yet... or I disturbed your sleep." Armaan cooed in my ears snuggling on my neck. "No... I was waiting for you but what happened? Did you stumble into a whiskey barrel?" I rubbed his back firmly. He chuckled on the crook of my neck, "Your funny... and I love you...".
My stomach did a flip leaving me speechless, I kissed his cheeks gently. Yash cleared his throat, "We were just celebrating our success with a couple of drinks but end up drinking a lot. Anyways... I think I should leave now." I asked him, "Are you going to drive back home in this condition?". He scratched his head, "Yeah... I think so because I'm not that drunk." Leaving a sigh I tapped on his shoulder, "You're talking to the wall since you entered... and definitely drunk." He shook his head vigorously. I asked a maid to get him a guest room and took Armaan with me upstairs to his room.
Removing his suit jacket, he throws it on the single couch and started removing his shoes. I placed some medicines and a glass of water on the nightstand. I was going to ask him to consume them but he was sitting on the edge of the bed with his head hung low. I cupped his jaw making him look at me "Do you want something?". He nodded, "I need a hug... a big one." Opening his arms wide he grinned madly. It made me laugh and I nodded agreeing with him climbing up on his lap. He placed his arms around me while hugging and twirling me on the bed. The soft mattress engulfed me, "Armaan..." I gasped looking up at him hovering over me he hummed in response peppering kisses on my cheeks.
Hitting his chest firmly I complained, "You're an asshole... I thought you asked for a hug." He grins widely and snuggled on my neck, "Yeah but I needed more than a hug because I missed you a lot." I raised my brows and listened to him babbling, "When I used to get ready in the morning for the office either you were sleeping or attending a video conferencing. When I came back home you might either be asleep or tired out of work so I didn't bother you much. You don't know how much I missed you even after being with you." My eyes glittered with tears of an unusual joy it made me feel like for the first time in my entire life someone has felt the same emotions as mine.
Armaan lifts his head examining me because my tears touched his cheeks. "Hey... did I crush your bone? Oh god... I'm so sorry you could have just kicked me off." He tried to get off me but I pulled him back cuddling with my legs tangled with his. He placed a soft kiss on my neck, "Ishita..." and caressed my cheek. I couldn't stop the urge and kissed his plum kissable lips. His musky cologne drove me insane and his lips did another kind of spell on me so I started unbuttoning his white shirt.
He broke the kiss tossing his shirt on the floor and lifted me onto his lap. With a sharp breath, we attached back to each other's lips, my hands roamed on his bare chest feeling his muscles. Slipping the strap of my nightgown his kisses moved down to my neck biting the soft flesh, I let out a loud moan when he found my sweet spot. Looking into my eyes he blinked twice admiring me and breathed out, "That's the sexiest voice I have ever heard..." biting my lower lips I looked down at ourselves shyly. His hand gripped the back of my neck and tossed me back on the bed.
Adjusting some pillows, he laid me down comfortably and pecked on my lips shaking his head vigorously. I cupped his cheeks asking, "What happened?" he fluttered his eyelashes, "You... look... blurred..." and the next moment he passed out next to me on the bed. I left a soft chuckle caressing his jaw, "Yours so adorable..." and pulled him close to me ruffling his soft hair. I could feel his sleepy hot breaths on my neck making me lose my sanity, pecking on his forehead I whispered in his ears, "I love you..." and soon sleep took over me.
Third-person POV:
Ishita woke up early and was preparing breakfast because the maids took a day off from work as it was the festive season. She was making an omelet with a lot of concentration referring to the YouTube tutorial. Her phone buzzed on the kitchen counter she checked her phone from a distance it was Esha. "Hello dii..." she squeaked happily. Ishita hummed in response and Esha fired herself "Di... where are you? I'm at home... our home Mehra Mansion. I have seen your pictures blooming in the media. But I don't know why people are talking about Armaan's ex-girlfriend so much. Has something awful happened between you two lovely Chipmunks?"
Ishita took a deep breath checking the omelet on the pan, "Esha... calm down bullet train. And no... nothing bad or awful has happened between us. Tell me what's your ass doing at home... don't you have work to do." Esha huffed, "Di... I'm not a workaholic like you... always drowning in work. You even don't have time for your little sister. See... you're still talking on the phone when we both are in the same state. You're so mean..." Ishita ignores her and hummed dryly giving her all attention to the breakfast she was making for Armaan.
Esha faked a cry "I'll tell mom to disown you..." Rolling her eyes Ishita joked about her, "Use those skills in your upcoming nautanki..." Esha growled, "Di... it's called television drama..." with a chuckle she mocked her, "Same thing...". Ishita told her about the breakfast and Esha denied to accept it. "Your lying... you never cared to step in into the kitchen. Even mom gave up on it because once you put the rice in the cooker forget the water. The house nearly got blasted but Shina checked the cooker on time as black smoke was coming out of it. You and kitchen... no way..."
"Fine... I'll meet you at the Mehra Mansion. Bye..." she angrily ended the call and checked her omelet. With a gasp, she was trying to flip the pan as smoke was coming out of it. In haste, she touched the hot end of the pan while trying to remove it. Shrieking in pain she looked between her hand and the pan. Tears swelled up in her eyes staring at the pan, Armaan turned off the ignition keeping the pan on the kitchen counter. He pulled Ishita towards him checking on her hand she was sucking with her lips.
"Does it hurt too much? Come here... should we call a doctor?" Armaan pulled her hand and turned on the tap of the basin washing the burnt finger. Ishita shook her head slowly, "No... I'm fine... Esha distracted me by calling... I was so close to making the perfect breakfast for you." She sniffed complaining. He hugged her by her waist, "Hey... why are you crying? You could have asked for a maid's help..." she clenched his t-shirt tightly and told him about the festive holiday.
He left a long sigh, "Ishita... you could have ordered out something. What if I didn't come in time? You would have cried a river out of your eyes and gotten yourself hurt." She wiped her face, "I'm sorry..." Armaan was a bit shocked by her behavior. He lifted her chin making her look at him, "Ishita... Is something bothering you? You can tell me, love... Because it's unlike you either you're hiding something from me or trying to change yourself unnecessarily" She blinked her tears away and shook her head, "No... I'm fine... I... would check if the omelet is still edible or I'll just order something."
She walked past him checking on the pan, he noticed her strange behavior. They had their breakfast in complete silence, Armaan sensed her uneasiness and decided to drop the topic and make her feel comfortable. "Do you want to go out somewhere?" He asked her, she took a bite from her food and denied it. "I don't have any work right now as Yusuf has completely taken over and I have resigned from my position selling off my shares of the company. I'm thinking of either step into the real estate market or starting a construction business. But for that, I need to do a lot of research and work behind the curtains before stepping into the actual market." She just listened to him and nodded at everything he said having small talk.
Picking up a black tank top with a denim jacket and black sneakers Ishita was getting ready to visit Esha. Doing her makeup, she checked her neck which had a lot of love bites. With a shy grin, she concealed it and walked downstairs. Armaan was sitting on the couch checking his phone, he smiled looking at her. "You look ravishing hot..." she passed him a small smile and pecked his cheek. "I'll be back till evening... you can call me whenever you want..." he nodded agreeing with her, "Okay... be safe." She nodded and jumped in her Ferrari.
Racing on the highways she felt refreshed to drive with an open roof and the dark cloudy weather just added to it. Parking inside the Mehra Mansion the guard bowed low and mentioned his regards. Ishita had a few words with him since he's been working with them for twenty years and they shared a good bonding. Esha came downstairs chirping happily and was going to hug Ishita but was stopped by Anjana. She inquired her, "Esha... you shouldn't run like that."
Ishita looked between them confused, Esha bites her lower lip and hugged her lovingly "Di... I missed you." Ishita faked a gag, "For what?" she scrunched her nose and takes her hand in her palm. "I want to tell you something..." Ishita raised my brows, she revealed "You are going to be a badass Masi because I'm pregnant...". Ishita gasped, "You're going to get fat..." she looked up and down at her with a scowl, "Seriously... that's what you're going to tell me..." clearing her throat she mentioned her heart-warm statements. "Congratulations... I hope the consequences of having sex be good for you."
Anjana slapped her forehead, "I was expecting something like that from your mouth..." Esha nodded agreeing with her mother. Ishita slipped out a five hundred rupees bundle and passed it to Esha, "Accept my congratulation is cash..." Anjana shook her head in disbelief, "Ishita... come with me. When someone gets pregnant, we need to pray in the temple and seek god's love. For both the baby and mother to be healthy..." Esha took the bundle from my hand, "We can do it but this is much better..." Anjana let a long sigh, "Fine... just keep your newborn far away from Ishita. I can't handle two psychopaths in one house."
She left inside stomping her feet, cursing her life and all that Asian moms have scripted. Esha chuckled and took Ishita to her room, "Mom hasn't changed even a bit neither have you." Ishita made her sit on the bed and she took her hand placing it on her belly, "I never asked much from you but I do want you to bless my child so that he or she could be strong and confident like you..." Ishita passed her a small smile and nodded. They chatted about random things and Esha asked "What about you and Armaan? How far have you both reached? At first, I thought you might give me the good news of having children." Ishita rolled her eyes, "Not so soon... and I don't think I can ever be a good parent."
Esha knits her brows, "Why would you say that? You would be a great mother... haven't you talked about it with Armaan. What does he think about a child? Or you guys are stuck in the friend zone." Ishita left a soft chuckle, "Something like that... friendzone marriage..." she raised her brows and asked in a low voice, "Seriously... you both aren't looking for anything more in your relationship." Ishita shook my head, "Nothing more than happy..." Esha placed her hand on her shoulder, "Di... I can understand that you're just close to your first anniversary and a lot has happened. But see the good side of it and don't let a cheapskate model break off your lovely marriage" Ishita nodded drowsing back in her deep thoughts.
Her heart was in a mess fighting back the feeling of getting attached to Armaan. She looked up at her sister and decided to keep her insecurity to herself. "Leave all this and tell me what you want to do as fun. Do you crave anything... I can get it for you." Esha chirped happily and nodded, "Yeah... I want to try a lot of cheesy dishes." Ishita ordered a variety of food items for Esha and they enjoyed it in the living room. Until Raj Kund stepped inside the house and growled in anger glaring at Ishita. He walked towards her, "If you can't help me then don't even try to complicate things for me."
Ishita stood up looking at her father sternly, "So what did you want me to do? Let you destroy another woman's life. Do you have some sort of obsession with controlling a person's life?". Anjana steps out of her room racing towards them, "Raj... control yourself." He glimpsed at her, "Then tell her to leave this house because I can't stand a backstabbing bitch inside my house. No wonder her husband dropped his pants in front of a cheap ass hoe to get rid of her." Anjana stepped in front of Raj, "She's your daughter... you can't say such things to her." Raj gripped her arms furiously, "Kashika ruined our lives and your daughter is saving her. I wanted her to be behind bars even after knowing she was innocent. Kashika used me as a shield to save herself from Mrs. Malhotra. But in all this, I lost everything my family, business, and you Anjana. Still, you think your daughter is right..."
Anjana turned to glimpse Ishita, "What he's talking about? Are you helping her?" Ishita nodded. Anjana snapped, "What? Why Ishita? That woman ruined us... she ruined your childhood as well. I lost everything because of her... still you're helping her." Ishita knits her brows, "Mom... are you hearing yourself? You want an innocent person to be in jail. Just because you hate her and no, she didn't ruin us. Raj didn't have the balls to tell you the truth... tell me Mom did he ever trust you with his secrets."
Raj hissed in anger, "You have lost your mind..." Ishita rolled her eyes at him, "I know you hate to be the wrong Dad but I think you should get used to it." He huffed looking away. Anjana sits on the couch holding her head and started wiping, "This house has become a zoo... you too can't stand each other's presence and chase hungrily. I'm sick of it...". Esha placed her hand on her shoulder and glimpsed at her father, "Dad... it's not right. You're letting your frustration take over your head and doing a reckless thing. It's not good for your health or the family. Whatever that woman has done let it be in the past and start over again on good terms." Raj glimpsed at Ishita but she looked away from him picking up her belongings. "Ishita..." he called out her name, "Screw you, Dad..." she announced walking out of the living room.
Stepping inside the car she drove off from the place, her phone was constantly banging with Ritika's call. She answered, "Ishita... I need you to tell me one thing straight." Ritika questioned her coldly. Ishita was already in a bad mood she asked her in an annoyed tone, "What?". Ritika took a deep breath before replying, "I went to collect some important papers from the courtroom and got informed that... Armaan submitted the divorce papers." Ishita applied her car's brakes, "What!" other cars honked behind her because they were nearly going to crash but she didn't care.
Ritika confirmed, "Yes... he submitted the divorce papers long before but because of some complications they sent it to get it reviewed by you before finalizing. This mostly happens when either one of the partners denies on some terms or wants to add some points to them. I don't know what Armaan has done but as far as I'm concerned, those papers are in your office." Ishita felt a chilled breeze touch her skin, "Why would he do that? I thought... we were good." Ritika sighed before asking, "That's what I'm trying to ask you Ishita... what do you want from it? Do you want to divorce him or stay with him?".
She mumbled incoherently, "I don't know..." Ritika deduced, "Ishita... you have to know because this will be your life-changing decision. But I do suggest you think about him also because it's not just about you this would affect him as well." She ended the call staring blankly. Her mind stopped working she put her head down on the steering wheel thinking about everything. A wave of sudden anger built inside her for being so naïve in his love that she growled and hit the wheel several times.
Taking a U-turn she drove towards her office stepping inside the private elevator she stopped at her floor. She was approached by her secretary, "Ma'am... Good evening... how can..." Ishita walked past her, "Get out of my way..." she stepped aside and followed Ishita. Opening the door of her cabin she searched for the divorce paper on her desk. "Where are those legal documents Ritika put on my desk a day before?" she searched for them and passed a brown envelope to Ishita. "You can leave now..." Ishita announced tearing the seal of the envelope.
With shaky hands, she pulled out the documents and ran her eyes over them. Flipping through pages she checks her signature and then glimpsed at the side Armaan was required to sign. She shivered and falls to the ground hitting her knee and breaking down in tears.
