Third Person POV:
Last day of the trial case of Mr. Malhotra's murder, the last deponent in the case was Mrs. Malhotra herself. She stood in the dock to get her verdict recorded as the testimony for the case. Amir presented the various pieces of evidence that Mrs. Malhotra previously provided to turn the case revolving around Kashika. The judge mentioned, "Miss Kashika where's your lawyer? You need to have someone who will present you in the courtroom even if you're going to lose the case." Kashika stood up from her seat and bowed her head, "I apologize your honor but my lawyer in the middle of the execution denied to fight the case for me. I do believe it has something to do with Raj Kund."
Amir mocked her in front of the whole courtroom "Please Kashika... stop blaming others for your wrongdoings. When you found out that you're going to lose the case and can't pay the lawyer because half of your expenses throughout all these years was given by Raj sir as you used to blackmail him and entrapped in someone's murder." She lowered her head and choose to stay silent. "Excuse me..." a voice came from behind everyone's gaze turned towards the door. Ishita walked inside with her suit blazer in her arms, "I guess I'm late... did I miss something?" the judge scrunched his nose seeing her.
Raj stood up and laughed awkwardly, "I'm sorry... she's my spoilt daughter. You all can continue... Ishita..." he growled lowly motioning her to sit. The judge ignored her presence and asked Kashika, "Miss... are you going to fight your case on your own or have you managed any lawyer." Kashika was going to apologize but Ishita spoke in between, "Um... she does have a lawyer... well technically I brought her a lawyer and someone crucial related to this case." She pointed at the door. They peeped out Vikram with Ritika walked inside they bowed in front of the judge.
The judge was pissed off, "This is not your house that you will bring a guest without notice... Mr. Raj this is an extremely unacceptable behavior. She's not just embarrassing me but also violating the rules and regulations of the courtroom." A man approached the judge and passed him a notice. "What is this?" he asked his assistant, "Sir... this is the notice I missed collecting for the investigation office." The judge snatched the document from his hand and took a look at it. He glimpsed at Ishita standing with a wide grin, it was obvious that his assistant didn't forget the document but Ishita got him to say it by paying him some money.
Ishita mouthed the judge, "Eighty thousand..." he shook his head in disbelief and signed the paper continuing the hearing. Ritika took the place of Kashika's lawyer and Vikram took a seat for her. Raj knits his brows seeing it all Ishita winked at him and sits on the bench crossing her legs. Amir glimpsed at Ishita and he was well aware that she was up to something, he presented his closing argument statement "Your honor, summarizing everything that happened on the day of Mr. Malhotra's murder it insists that my client went to the crime site after the death of Mr. Malhotra. The death time mentioned in Mr. Malhotra's post-mortem report is eight twenty whereas the CCTV footage of the hotel provided shows that my client went, there at eight forty and exited the room at eight forty-five. So, theirs no way he would have murdered him and left the room within five minutes of the time span."
He motioned at Kashika, "Whereas Miss Kashika was present at his hotel suite from seven and left with my client after murdering Mr. Malhotra. My client mentioned that when he entered his suite Kashika was crying with blood on her hands and pulled Raj sir's collar threatening him that if he told anyone about it, she will turn the case making him lose everything and she did the same after all these years. My simple urge would be to revise the case with Mrs. Malhotra's verdict and let the jury punish the murderer." The judge nodded and write it down, Amir took the seat next to Ishita and mumbled "What are you trying to do Ishita? Do you have any idea that you're standing against your father helping a murderer?"
Ishita glimpsed at him, "Amir... I used to think that you're a brilliant lawyer who has the ability the turn the tables in any case. But as I found out that you're just my father's puppet, you only see what Raj wants you to see and do what he wants you to do." Amir let a long sigh and takes her hand in his, "Ishita... I know you have major issues with your father but it's about the family. I'm aware that your father made you marry the man you always hated but things are getting back right. You're divorcing him and I think... we can start from where we left off. I'll have a conversation with your father about us after this and..." Ishita looked up and down at him and pulled her hand back instantly, "Are you fucking out of your mind? You think I want to be with you... Amir, we end up for good because you were just interested in me back in time because of my father's wealth nothing else and you're anger issues are insane. So please don't be like you were in love with me."
Amir was infuriated, "Fuck yourself... it's nothing like that and even if it was Armaan didn't marry you because he was in love with you. Don't show me that nasty attitude of yours..." Ishita chuckled and glared at him, "If you weren't in a courtroom then by now, I would have twisted your neck but don't worry Armaan will do it once you step out of this place. Yeah... we are back together you can die with the thought of getting back together." He stood up and left taking the seat next to a furious Raj Kund.
Ritika presented her closing argument, "Thank you for your attention, ladies, and gentlemen of the jury, on this very important case. As you look over to the trial table, you'll notice that after Mrs. Malhotra's verdict every aspect of the case has been changed. Ms. Kashika once mentioned in her testimony that she didn't have good relations with Mrs. Malhotra nor did Mr. Malhotra because she's a high-living woman whose world revolves around money. Mr. Malhotra had many affairs besides his marriage but Mrs. Malhotra never seems to bother except when Kashika had an affair with his husband." She pulled out a file and passed it to the judge's assistant, "Your honor... this is the draft of Mr. Malhotra's desired will before he died. It has Kashika's name on it... she's mentioned Kashika Malhotra because they had a valid marriage license."
Amir stood up, "What do you want to prove with it? That a wife killed her husband for money." Ritika shrugged, "It's money anyone can drop their pants for it and when it's about a hundred crores we should consider it linked with the money." The judge looked through the documents and asked Amir, "Why weren't it brought to the court?" he lowered his head and mumbled, "I apologize but I didn't consider it because Mrs. Malhotra never mentioned about it when we asked her to be a witness." Ritika raised her brows amusingly, "You didn't consider her sudden intrigue in this case..." he pointed a finger at her fuming in anger, "Don't make it personal... or else I have many things to reveal but I do value your privacy."
Ritika glimpsed at Ishita, she motioned her to be calm "Fine... Your honor I would like to ask Mrs. Malhotra some questions regarding this case as she does have some involvement in this case." The judge nodded and wrote it down, "Granted..." Ritika grinned widely and approached Mrs. Malhotra, "Ma'am will you like to reveal the amount of money you received after Mr. Malhotra's death including the insurance money?" she glimpsed at Amir, and he nodded his head letting her answer it.
"Roughly around five hundred crores..." she mumbled lowly. Ritika gave her an impressive look, "Don't you think it's a lot to murder someone..." she glared at her, "I didn't murder my husband... I loved him why would I..." Ritika snapped her finger, "As you mentioned you loved him I would like to know why did he ask his lawyer to draft a will which had less than five percent of his wealth? Did your love vanish with time?" Mrs. Malhotra snapped her brows, "He was a womanizer... his interest was in many women but I stayed dedicated to him and always loved him." Ritika hummed in response, "Didn't it bother you?" she shook her head, "No... and please don't make me say rude things for him. May his soul rest in peace..."
Ritika chuckled, "You never said rude things to him..." she shook her head, "No... never..." she smirked and mentioned, "Your honor whatever Mrs. Malhotra said is a complete lie because the butler of the Malhotra family who has been working for more than eleven years mentioned about their constant fights. Which is also one of the reasons Mrs. Malhotra's son Vikram Malhotra has broken all the connections with his family." Amir stood up, "It's a baseless accusation you're making on Mrs. Malhotra who has nothing to do with the case. Your honor, Miss Ritika is just vacillating the whole situation temporizing Kashika's blunder which she made while falsely incriminating my client. Miss Ritika I would like to know from you... do you have any valid evidence to prove your point?".
Ritika glimpsed at Vikram before saying, "I certainly have a witness who can describe the whole incident of that day. Unfortunately, the evidence collected from the crime scene is not up to the mark. As this case is very old in time it's not quite possible to provide proper evidence. I believe the jury would provide flexibility and consider it with the same amount of solemnity so that justice could be served." The courtroom bloomed with soft murmurs of people discussing the witness who could possibly bring the actual murderer to light.
