Chapter 48
Armaan's POV:
Rubbing my eyes, I sit up on the bed hearing some noise from downstairs. Walking down Goel Staff members were there, I looked around to see if Ishita or Mom was there but can't find anyone. Vijay, my bodyguard walked close and bowed his head, "Good Evening Sir..." mumbling a good evening I asked him, "Where's Ishita?" he raised his brows then replied, "Sir Madam has left Goel Mansion three days ago and she might be in her office. Do you want me to contact her?" I shook my head.
After I announced my marriage with Veronica is valid Ishita didn't try to contact me. I wanted to explain to her why I did this but she just blocked all the contacts. Scratching my head, I motioned Vijay to leave and looked around the staff. Thank God I don't have to eat boiled eggs and instant noodles anymore. Walking upstairs I change into my office clothes and stepped inside the car, checking some emails time passed out and the car stopped in front of Pearls Entertainment.
Stepping outside the car I walked straight inside the private elevator opening on the floor of my office. "Good morning, Sir..." Kia my assistant gave me a sweet smile reaching her eyes. I hummed in response and forwarded my hand for the coffee she placed her hand in my palm. I slapped it away, "Coffee... duffer..." she gasped and scratched her head, "Oh I forgot it on my table... Sorry, sir...". I shook my head in disbelief, "Forget it... I will get one for myself where's DK?" she pouted her lips thinking, "You mean big boss..." scrunching my nose I really want to punch her face, "Yes Madam..." she cleared her throat awkwardly and shrugged "I don't know..." growling in anger I called out the other model in the company, "ASIN..." she came out of DK's office stumbling on her leg and saluted me then bowed.
"I want this pot head out of my office... who appointed her? Please get me the documents I asked DK to provide me last evening and get me a strong coffee." She nodded her head instantly and pulled Kia out. I took a deep breath and stepped into my office sitting back comfortably on my chair. Asin came back with the documents and my coffee, checking the documents DK walked inside, "Armaan... how are you? I can see working hard in the morning... try to enjoy your life a little. See we have so much glamour in our office..." he forwarded his hand gesturing Asin. She hesitantly placed her hand on his palm and smiled, he kissed the back of her hand.
I smirked, "You're working hard in the morning as well but differently. Not that I mind but currently I have a thing for Veronica she's definitely great in bed. You might also know it well..." he chuckled awkwardly, "I wouldn't deny it... because that time she wasn't your wife or I would have maintained the distance." I chuckled and stood up from my chair, "Don't be like that DK you're my friend, and what a friend I would be not taking care of your needs? Like the way you should take care of my needs..." I looked up and down at Asin. DK laughed out, "Of course... we both showed to have mutual feelings towards each other's as we are friends besides business partners..." I shook hands with him grinning widely he gave me an impressed look. He stood up and pushed Asin towards me she walked slowly wrapping her arms around my torso.
"Enjoy..." he waved leaving my office I passed him a smug smile. Looking down at Asin she felt uneasy under my gaze I motioned her to sit on my desk, "Sit here... then you can leave the office after 10 minutes." Her eyelashes fluttered fighting back the tears. She unknowingly hugged me and spoke between her sobbed, "Please don't tell him..." I nodded and sat back on my chair reviewing the documents that would be used in today's meeting.
Placing the file down I slipped my phone out calling Yash, "Everything ready...". He chuckled, "Yes Habibi..." with a small smile I ended the call. Staring at the window I took a deep breath and called Ishita, her number was still off. I called Ritika, and she answered it after the fifth ring, "Yes Armaan Sir..." clearing my throat I asked her, "Where's Ishita, and why her number is off?" she hesitantly replied, "Sir I have no idea as I'm on my leave. Maybe she's on some business trip..." I didn't say anything and ended the call.
Ishita's being so childish she didn't even give me time to explain myself. Someone knocked on the door "Come in..." Asin peeped inside, "Sir... everyone is waiting for you to start the investor's meeting." I hummed in response getting up from my seat adjusting my tie removing the cease on my Armani suit. Asin opened the door of the conference room and I walked inside with one hand in my pocket. They all stood up in respect I motioned them to sit, "Good afternoon gentlemen... should we start the meeting?" DK asked them. I took a seat next to an elderly man of the clothing brand.
"We have Mr. Yusuf Sheikh with us today who is a well-known name in the hotelier's business across the world. Armaan Goel our new business partner has recommended him to invest in our business in which Mr. Yusuf got interested." I looked up at Yusuf and people's impressive look, rolling my eyes I sit back comfortably till the meeting ended. Yusuf Sheikh as usual made amazing investments and DK was head over heels as most of the profits he's going to suck from this deal and I also want that to happen.
Walking out of the office I shook hands with Yusuf and mumbled, "Thanks for coming here sir... we are more than grateful. Come I will show you out..." DK nodded and gestured for me to help him out. On the way, Yusuf mumbled under his breath but quite audible, "Was it nice Habibi?". I smirked, "Shut up Yash... and yeah you were great just stick to the plan." He faked an Arabic accent compliment about the company and achievements. I rolled my eyes at his overacting, he always wanted to be an actor but ended up in business. I just gave him chance to make his acting dream come true but he's doing more than necessary.
Getting back home I stood under the running shower water calming my tensed muscles. Changing into comfortable clothes I stepped inside my study room when I saw Yash sitting on the couch with his hands on his head sadly. "What happened? I thought you were happy after becoming Yusuf Sheikh." He passed a weak smile and picked up the brown envelope lying on the center table and passed it towards me, "I don't know what to say or how to say?". My brows knit together in confusion looking down I pulled out the papers inside the envelope. I felt a deep thud in my heart when reality hit me like a thousand bricks.
My hands trembled to review the divorce papers that Ishita already signed. "Why would she do that?" it came out of my mouth in a whisper. Yash lowered his head uttering, "Armaan, I told you to let her know... she couldn't face it we both were aware of it." I sighed keeping the paper back in the envelope, "Yash you know well we are working at risk our plan could backfire us anytime. I'm trying hard to get rid of Veronica so that Ishita and I can have a peaceful life ahead but she's acting like a child. I'm doing all this for our future together but she just couldn't believe in me and sent these shitty papers. She didn't even hesitate to sign it or even cared to discuss it with me. She used to be so understanding but I don't know what has happened to her that she does reckless things without caring that she's hurting the other person in the process..." my head felt heavy I couldn't take it anymore my brain said sign those papers and get rid of her but my heart dragged me back reminding that I can't live without her. She can be the worst thing in the world but I'll still want her no matter what she's my peace, my strength, and everything that I would ever want.
Yash slapped his forehead, "You both are unbelievable... Armaan you still don't know what happened to her? She has fallen in love with you moron that's why she's doing childish things." I looked up at him, "You're just making things up in your mind. If she loved me, she would have tried to talk to me or rather bust on me for accepting the marriage with Veronica. She wouldn't have sat back silently and sent these divorce papers finding the right time to get herself out of the marriage alliance she made for her profit."
He glared at me, "You also agreed to this marriage for your profit don't just blame her and tell me if she hasn't contacted you have you ever tried to? No Armaan... you're being overprotective keeping things from her which is hurting her as well. Remember when Aadesh Bhai used to do things behind your back you were furious thinking he was lying to you. The same way Ishita's feeling betrayed as well because you're keeping things from her." I huffed furiously, "Can't she just believe in me? Isn't it important to trust each other for a relationship to work well?" he sighed shaking his head, "Have you ever tried to remove her insecurities for you? Why did I bring Mayra here that day? To remove her insecure thought from her mind so that she can keep believing in me and I have to take the responsibility of never breaking her trust. With Trust comes insecurities understand this simple concept, Armaan."
I looked away from him because everything he was saying is true, I was never in a serious relationship with anyone even with Veronica it was mostly sexual. She never showed me those feeling and I never came to know them. It's hard for me to understand Ishita's love. I just want to take care of her and keep her close to my heart because she warms it and that's love for me. Her developed feelings are complicated and I have no idea how to handle them with care. Yash stood up and placed his hand on my shoulder, "If you can love her then only think about it or sign these papers freeing both the lives. Ishita is like a spoilt sister to me and you're my best friend I would only wish the best for both of you." With that, he left.
Resting my head back on the couch I closed my eyes my mind drifted to the day we got married. I promised myself to be with her no matter what but I forgot that it was me who was making that promise to myself. I never asked Ishita what she wanted from this marriage and then we could have made that promise together. Everything about her was so perfect that I couldn't control myself from falling in love with her. The downsides of her cold, heartless personality were all we could talk about, but she did not ask me what I liked about her, nor did I ever tell her I loved everything about her, even her coldness. Taking a pen from the pen holder I walked towards my desk holding the divorce papers in front of my eyes as our marriage alliance was falling apart.
