Chapter 29
A/N: Hii there my lovely readers I'm adding a new thing in my stories known as "DAILY TASK". It will be mentioned at the end of the chapter. Completing it would provide you with the next update. Don't worry it would be easy peasy.
Third-Person's POV:
Ishita slowly stretched in sleep her mattress felt warm and hard lifting her eyelids she gasped lightly. It wasn't the mattress she was sleeping on top of Armaan who himself was hugging her in sleep. They have been sleeping like this very often now but Armaan never forced her to do anything against her will. He cared for her and gave her space to adapt, Mehra Group and Goel Industries were formally business partners now. Armaan accepted her as his wife but Ishita was still struggling with the thought of that should she trust him or not.
She glimpsed at his handsome face and smiled unknowingly; her fingers trailed his jaw. Hitting reality, she tried to pull away from him but Armaan pulled her towards him and slowly lifts his eyelids. "Where are you going?" he mumbled in his husky morning voice. "Um... work... I have a business to run and you have work also." She smiled sheepishly as his hands roamed her back. "We have employees to work in our absence to whom we pay hefty amounts of salaries. Don't we?" he commented cuddling with her.
Ishita giggled, "You just find reasons to keep me with you." Armaan cupped her jaw, "And I will do it till my last breath." She lowered her head and smiled. "Okay, just five more minutes then I will leave because I have an important meeting with the fashion industry executive." Armaan hugged and kissed her hair ruffling it, with the mention of the fashion industry his mind drifted towards Veronica. He looked down at Ishita's smiling face and didn't want any slightest thing to harm her but Veronica could be dangerous for her.
"Armaan beta..." Nayantara walked inside his room and they sit up straight in bed. "Oh... I thought maybe you would have been awake but anyways I just wanted to remind you that you need to drop Ishita back at Mehra Mansion." He knits his brows, "Why?" Nayantara looked between them, "What do you mean by why? It's a ritual on the fourth day after marriage girl is needed to send back home." Armaan glimpsed at Ishita then back at his mother, "But for how long? Is it really necessary?". Ishita slapped his arm softly, "I will be fine and it's just for three days or a week. Maa... I will get ready he would drop me home first then I will leave for work." Nayantara nodded and left his room. "Ugh..." Armaan got up for his workout and Ishita stepped inside the bathroom to get dressed.
Getting ready she walked down the hall in a red saree with open hair, Armaan blinked twice as he couldn't take his eyes off her. In front of him, Ishita knitted her brows as he admired her affectionately while he was still lost in his world. "Chalo..." she broke his thought by snapping her fingers, he mumbled incoherently and opened the car door for her.
Starting the car engine Armaan drove in the busy streets occasionally glimpsing at Ishita who was doing some work on her phone. She looks up and catches him looking at her, "You took the wrong turn." He looked outside and froze, "Sorry... I guess that route was long and maybe I forgot the lane." Ishita turned her face and giggled lowly. Reaching Mehra Mansion Anjana and Sana welcomed them inside.
Armaan had a small talk with them and had to leave for work, kissing Ishita's forehead he drove back to work. Sana asked for all the juicy details but Ishita didn't have any, "Achha leave it... tell me what he gave you as a wedding gift?". Ishita thought for a while and mumbled, "Nothing..." Sana scrunches her nose, "What? he's not broke but then why he didn't give you any gift?" Ishita just shrugged as she doesn't know it but neither did, she cares to know because for her it was more than enough that she wasn't feeling pressured living with his family.
Anjana sits silently in front of her, Ishita felt her uneasiness "What's bothering you?". Anjana shook her head but Ishita insisted, "Mom please don't make me feel left out. Maa always indulged me in family affairs whether it concerned me or not." Anjana raises her brows, "Are you sitting here comparing your mothers?" she rolled her eyes, "That's not needed because Maa is the best." Anjana smiled shaking her head in disbelief. "Now tell me..." Anjana sighed, "I got a call from Esha the day before your wedding her marriage life isn't good. They have been quarreling more often about small things and Esha isn't cooperating with Kartik. She just has an excuse ready for everything and it's annoying Kartik but Antara is trying her best to keep up with her but Esha is being careless this time."
"But... she doesn't call me now and whenever I do, she just makes up that she's busy with her shoot," Ishita complained as Esha was giving her cold shoulders and didn't attend her wedding. Anjana nodded restlessly, "I don't know what to do and what not to. Because you both are adults, I can't take decisions on your side it will be unfair to you both. And Kashika just walked in here threatening me to give up the house or she will frame Raj in a murder case. That's so lame." Ishita nodded but something built up in her mind did Raj really commit such a thing? because he can do anything for his profit.
Ishita did some work and, in the evening, she came back to Mehra Mansion. Feeling a bit tired she falls back on the bed thinking about Esha as she never thought that her sister's marriage will turn out this way in just a few months after marriage. Hearing some noises from the hall her sleep evaporated and she walked downstairs. Esha was sitting on the couch surrounded by Sana and Anjana. "Esha..." Ishita called her name walking towards her, a smile crept on her face "Di... you're here. I'm sorry I wasn't able to come to your wedding. You married in such haste that half the media thinks you're pregnant with a child." She giggles at her own jokes and made Ishita sit next to her.
Anjana glared at Esha angrily, "I asked you something..." she looks up at her with an annoyed look, "Mom, please... Kartik will come later to take me back home. I was just feeling exhausted from attending his business meeting." Anjana yelled at her, "Wasn't you the one who wanted to go everywhere he does? because you can't trust him with anyone. Now when he gave you what you wanted now, you're feeling exhaustive. What's wrong with you?" Ishita looked between them.
Esha stood up and left inside her room, Ishita glimpsed at the luggage she brought it was more like she left the house. Anjana sits back on the couch holding her head, Sana passed her a glass of water, "Aunty please don't take so much stress maybe she's just agitated and not thinking straight." Ishita stood up and walked towards Esha's room, she was sitting in front of the dresser removing her jewelry and wiping off her makeup. "Di... now please don't you start with your lecture. I couldn't take it anymore."
Ishita shook her head, "No... I'm here to know what happened on the last trip of your honeymoon." Esha flinched with the tone Ishita used, she lowered her head avoiding her cleaned up her makeup. "You contacted the tour guide..." she asked throwing cotton in the dustbin. Ishita smirks and sits back comfortably, "Well... he contacted me to book my honeymoon but told me something more interesting." Esha opens the cupboard and pulled out the vodka bottle, "Ah... I kept it hidden from Mom before the marriage." She smiled and passed pouring a glass for Ishita.
Taking a deep breath Esha confessed, "Her ex-girlfriend came cover meeting him in the cafeteria of the hotel we were staying. He left early that morning telling me that he had an important business meeting so I got downstairs to get breakfast for him but got something more than bowled eggs." Ishita took a sip, "Were they doing something?" she shook her head, "Thankfully not in front of me but when I got there, she mentioned that they ran into each other the night before and she had a mental breakdown to which Kartik was taking care of her. The only thing that's bothering me is his lies if he would have told me about it. I would have accompanied him or just wouldn't get a heart attack seeing my husband with his ex on our honeymoon."
Ishita sighed, "Well your issue sounds genuine but your actions don't." Esha rolled her eyes, "Seriously what do you want me to do? Let him lie on my face if he's doing it right now at the first month of the wedding then he won't hesitate to do it rest of his life." Ishita gulped the whole glass, "By your actions I meant creating a scene, I want you to get a seat and talk with him without arguing. Keep it calm and subtle listen to his side if it still makes you feel like a bunch of his lies, divorce him. I have good contacts with attorneys so it won't be a problem." Esha's face drained with the mention of divorce because she loved Kartik more than anything. She wouldn't have demanded else than loyalty and Kartik's lies were making it hard for her to believe in him.
"Fine... I will and hey sorry for not attending your wedding it was just a breakdown and I didn't want it to affect your big day. How's your life going?" she looked up at Ishita. "If it would have been great then I might not have accompanied you for drinks." Esha chuckled at her comment, "Armaan looks like a nice guy and you were all... muah... muah with him." she made a kissing face taunting Ishita. She smiled, "It would have been better if we would just date a little knowing each other then jump into this marriage thing. It all feels like a daydream getting married and sleeping together but it's not that bad." Esha wiggles her brow, "All sexy time..." Ishita gagged, "Not that... please I still can't trust him to remember he was my business rival. But I wouldn't lie he's cute, caring, and quite understanding but his anger, ego, and self-obsession just covers all his good deeds." Esha bust laughing at her sister's scrunched face.
"I would suggest making things work out with what you have instead of thinking if it would have been like that then it would be better. Accept the fate and see where it goes and when it comes to love, you never know for who you fall for." Esha smiled and hugged her sister, "Thank you... I feel so comfortable after sharing my heart out with you." Ishita rolled her eyes, "You're my sister who else will take care of your ass except me because mom has given up on you long before".
Ishita walked inside her bedroom when her phone buzzed with Armaan's call, she picks it up feeling a bit tipsy. "Miss me, hubby..." Armaan checks his phone, "Can I talk with Ishita?" she scrunches her nose, "This is me... you dumbass." He chuckled, "Oh I thought someone else picked up your phone and called me hubby. I don't mind being called sweetheart." She faked a laugh, "Some people can't just digest generosity." Armaan grins widely, "Okay... tell me how was your day." To which Ishita told him everything including Esha's trouble in paradise.
"When will you come back?" he asked out of the blue Ishita turned silent for a while and smiled shyly. "Can I know why are you insisting so much to come back?" Armaan grins and utters, "I just feel alone... like all these years I have been like that but now after you, things have changed." She smiled, "Okay... I will come back the day after tomorrow but you have to pick me up." Armaan cheered, "Yes... I will book a table for us in a restaurant for dinner."
They chatted for a while Ishita yawned and ends the call with a good night. Armaan tried to sleep but he couldn't without her she was a drug to him and within a short period, he was addicted. The next morning Ishita accompanied Esha to meet Kartik, he was waiting in a cafeteria. As soon as Esha arrived, he stood up pulling the chair for her they just looked at each other for a while and no one uttered a single word and kept their head low.
Ishita glimpsed at them, "I think the café owner has brought the most expensive Italian marble because that could be a reason you both can't take your eyes off them." Esha nudged her to shut up, Kartik smiled and glanced at Esha. Ishita ordered some snacks then talked with the manager and got interested to buy the place. Esha huffed at her sister's action, "I doubt she will buy the world someday."
Kartik silently holds her hand, "I'm sorry... I was a fool letting her come in between us." Esha avoided looking at his eyes because her vision was getting blurred with tears swelling her eyes. "Kartik please..." she left a breath as he tightened his grip, "I'm not saying this so you would forgive me and I would lie to you again. You can punish me for that reason but before you make up anything in your mind, I just want to tell you that I only love you no one from the past or future can change the fact."
Esha sniffed, "I trust you Kartik but your lies are making it hard for me and the worst thing is I don't want to mistrust you. Because with a lot of courage I took the step for marriage and want this to work out but..." busting into tears her body shivered with pain and suffering that she was feeling in her heart. Kartik moved forward and hugged her, "Esha... you don't have to and you're not the only one wanting it to work out. I'm giving my hundred percent just one my stupid mistake made you question it. I just felt pity and wanted to stand for her but I didn't know she would have said you so much and made you feel uncomfortable."
Esha turned to his side and hugged sobbing in his arms, "I love you Kartik and I promise I would trust you even more but promise me that you will never break it.". Kartik hides his face on her shoulder, "I would never sweetie.... I love you too...". They hugged each other and promised to be with each other. Ishita walks inside with a coffee cup in her hand, "I guess you guys have kissed and made up." She did a little swirl around the place. Esha grins and hugged Kartik, "We could have spent some more private time if you wouldn't appear."
Ishita faked a gasp, "That hurts because an hour ago you dragged me here... but don't worry we can place some chairs around the pool area and have a little brunch party for ourselves." Esha looked outside the private pool area of the cafeteria, "Umm... we could have but I don't think they would allow us to do so. It's against their policy as it's private property" Ishita shrugged with a smug face, "Don't be ridiculous I bought the place new owner new rules." Kartik and Esha looked at each other as Ishita picked up her handbag walking outside, staff helped them arrange their brunch.
Esha and Kartik made love around the pool area while Ishita took a long nice nap with some foot massages and spa treatment provided by the salon. Esha looked down at her buzzing phone it was a call from Raj Kund, "Hello Dad... Okay... we are coming home... yeah Ishita is with us." Esha shakes Ishita's sleepy body, "What?" she mumbles in her sleep. "Dad's calling us back home..." she sits up "Why? Is he dying?" Esha slapped her forehead and pulled her out, "I don't know let's head back and see."
