Chapter 14

Armaan's POV:

"If I asked you to get married and have a family that doesn't mean you will get a girl and control her life because why you like her, you want a wife for what reason Armaan Goel?" mom yelled at me. I silently kept looking down sitting on the couch my grandparents tried to calm her but she's a volcano only Abhimanyu Goel can calm.

Dad entered the living room, "Do you have her phone?" he asked me I nodded. "It was dead so I sent to fix it... why is she asking for her phone at this moment?" I asked him in disbelief, the audacity of this girl. Dad sighs, "Her family is searching for her... she hasn't come back since last night and no one knows where she is. Police tried to track her phone and the last location was the venue where the phone died maybe through her phone, they can track the location of her car and might find her...". Mom glared at me, "See what you did? If anything, bad happened with her... what if she committed..." her voice broke.

Dad calmed her rubbing her arms, "She's an intelligent girl she won't do anything like that... remove these negative thoughts from your mind... okay..." she sobbed and cried for the girl she never spoke with, these women. Ugh, but where's Ishita... what if she... no... no that can't happen. Why I didn't think about it? I thought she might try to kill me by sending some serial killer or might be some snipers or hire a truck driver to hit my car but she just vanished.

"Look at him, shameless... you love her right... go find her then... idiot..." Mom taunted me for sitting idle. I stood up and left inside my room, peeping down it was still morning she might come back till afternoon. I yawned and hopped on the bed, hitting the bed sleep took over me. Stretching on the bed I opened my phone it was silenced but no one called me.... strange. Looking outside it was a bright sunny afternoon, walking to the balcony this place was quite peaceful and filled with royalty.

Walking down the hall I got to the kitchen to grab some food, which the maids served, and left the kitchen. Dad glimpsed at me and then turned to leave when I asked him, "Are you still mad at me? you knew about it then why are you giving me those looks."I pointed at him stuffing food in my mouth, Dad stood in front of me blankly. He nods, "Yeah... I knew about it... but sorry I didn't stop you when I should have." I gulped the water.

"Don't be like that dad... it's business...." The next moment he busted, "A girl's life isn't business... her mother's tears aren't business... she hasn't returned yet Armaan..." my head felt heavy as I tried to stand up. This is not good, "What? the butler might have given you the phone and they would have tracked her car or maybe she would have driven back" the doorbell turned our attention towards it. A maid opened the door revealing Anjana Mehra in a plain silk saree looking devastated.

"Armaan... Beta... what do you talk with her about?" Anjana walked toward me and firmly holds my arms she sobbed. "Nothing much..." I replied avoiding her and pulled out my phone to call an investigation team. Anjana wiped her tears and my mother came to console her, she rubbed her back and uttered some soothing down. Squatting down on my knees I took Anjana's hand in my hand, "I will find her... this happened because of me... I will take full responsibility for it but I want you to convince your daughter to marry me. I promise she won't have any problem living with me." she nods wiping her tears.

Getting up I left outside within an hour we got to the location of her car parked which lazy policemen weren't able to find. Sitting in my car driver drove to the outskirts of Udaipur, after hours of driving nowhere we found her car parked on the side of the road.

Investigators searched with German Shepards across the rural areas asking some villagers. They told us she was here and pointed at the open ground where some children were playing. Walking close to them I saw her; barely recognizable she wore a cheap faded color salwar suit with leggings. She gave a high five to a thin girl shorter than her height and continue playing football with children and some girls close to her age.

Seeing the group of people approaching them the children stopped playing looking at us in horror. Ishita turned her face towards us and her eyes narrowed, I called her mother and informed her that we found her. Ishita rolled her eyes, "Why are you here?" fisting my hand I tried to calm myself, "Seriously... we dug the earth to find you and you here playing football with... how careless are you? Have you thought about your mother's condition?" she left a long sigh then turned to the children and bid them goodbye promising them she will meet them soon. Why does she differ from other women so much? No one but herself matters to her.

"Ishita...." Anjana hugged her, "Where were you? Why did you leave without telling me? I was so sacred; Esha was asking for you. Where were you?". I growled, "Playing with villager's children..." she glared at me then turned towards her father. "Rajkund... well-played... but don't you think I will give up so easily..." Raj smirked, "Now it's not between me and you, Armaan has always been a winner so give your best to lose...". Leaving inside, she glared at me with a touch of sass.

Ishita's POV:

I spent a day with the villagers and got to know about their problems which include drought, electricity shortage, and unusual rain that ruin their farming crop. I got my new business model, solar power plant, and greenhouse including Polly houses. The time I spent made me realize my worth and refreshed me with new ideas it was way better than a vacation in Bali. Armaan might have got the majority stakes in my company but he has no business experience in pharma. In real estate, I'm still a board member but I shouldn't take him for granted because he surely has potential but so am I, this is going to be a war.

Changing into a simple pink saree with chandelier earrings I joined my sister's reception party as I missed her Bidai ceremony. She was sitting on the stage next to Kartik happy cheering for her girl group's dance performances. I always wanted her happy and Kartik is her happiness, someone tapped on my shoulder it was Sana. She hugged me, "God, you scared me... but I was sure you will come back powerful..." I side-hugged her and she explained the way she threatened Armaan and saw him crying all well which seems to be a part of his drama. She asked, "Why is this Armaan so desperate to marry you?" I ordered a gin for myself and explained to her the conversation we had in that alley, she listened to me attentively.

"I suggest you marry him..." she said in a serious tone. Knitting my brows, I looked up and down, "You don't seem drunk to say something like that..." she rolled her eyes. "I'm not... seriously... marry him..." I shook my head in disapproval, "Never... and why should I. If necessary, I will reclaim the company even if it involves some illegitimate, unlawful, or borderline illegal mean..." she sighed "You will go to jail... I know it was on your bucket list in high school but on a serious note, he will get what he wants eventually, think logically Ishita. A leached dog without a master can be said independent...".

I gave her a look confused about what she meant, Sana placed her hand on mine, "Marry him... you will get a husband for society and control of the company as well. Because eventually in life you will need someone to settle down with if not him then someone else but you will have to, for getting rid of taunts of the society put the leach of marriage on your neck but don't let the master control you." I listened to her carefully and understood what her two-dollar brain-twisting riddle meant.

I argued back on her suggestion, "But what about the marriage bonds, and what if he starts controlling me?" she expressed, "No one cares about the bonds look at me, your mother what did this bond give us, mass destruction nothing else. Millions of boundaries, thousands of scarifies, and at last what we got. Your mother married the man she loved, who eventually took over your grandfather's assets and cheated on her even after having two beautiful daughters. I married a complete stranger, the priest matched us, and families supported this marriage. My father gave tons of cash as dowry even after marriage they asked for the money he gave them, for what a leach of marriage in her daughter's neck. I broke the bond and set free but still, people say that I should have adjusted with him."

Tears brimmed her eyes she wiped them, "You're strong and have the power to dominate, that's why I'm suggesting you be financially strong and not let him control you. Get a way out of this, his family is reputed and won't try anything with you and the rest about Armaan, he would take care of you, he's just blinded by the money your father has offered him. And you know how good a manipulator your father is but seeing tears in his eyes said a different story... I do believe he loves you even if he denies..." She sniffed as I wiped her face, he can fool Sana, not me. I strongly believe the tears he shed were part of his drama to keep him in my good graces.

My father's younger brother, Rajiv approached us, "Tsk... tsk... you started your sadist story here also... can't you see it's a reception of a girl starting her new life. In this happy environment, you're telling them about your misfortune... go check up on your daughter because of whom..." he stopped in between his sentence as my hand made contact with his cheek. Pulling his collar I hissed, "Say it again..." he mumbled, "I said she..." another slap made its way to his red cheek.

Relatives gathered around and some males of the family came forward to stop, "Ishita... don't create a scene..." someone said and a female who maybe is my father's sister said, "That's the only thing she knows best..." pulling her brother, Rajiv. I pushed him down and knocked him out hitting his face on the cemented pillar. He falls back unconsciously bleeding from his brow, mouth, and jaw. Everyone gasped and some men drag Rajiv out from my site, my mother came rushing towards me.

"God... your daughter is such a psychopath..." I narrowed my eyes at her, "If you know then why is your mouth working overtime..." she turned pale and mumbled something to herself incoherently. "Ishita... calm down... they are your relatives," Mom tried to convince me I wanted to add fake. Turning towards them I dictated, "From now onwards if any of you, crack heads tried to shame Sana for divorcing her husband. Don't forget to book yourself ward in the hospital and those wives bragging about how they managed their family and sacrificed will turn into widowers within seconds." They looked at me in utter shock. I yelled "Do you get that?" they nodded lowering their heads.

Mom gave me an hour of lecture for my misbehavior and asked me to apologize to the father's sister. She came inside my room trembling and I mumbled a sorry, she smiled awkwardly and then said some sweet words to lighten my mood but it just added to my headache. Taking permission from my mother I roamed around Udaipur and stopped in front of a drinking club written with neon light 'Vegas 69'.

What do you think why isn't Armaan happy even after getting what he wanted?

Ishita loves to show peoplw their places and now its Armaan's turn. What do you think she will do to make Armaan pay for whatever he did?
