28- Sirius Meets The McKinnons

"Lenie, he'll be here soon," yelled Sarah up the stairs to her daughter.

Over a year had passed since Sirius and Marlene had begun dating, and David and Sarah had yet to meet the boy, therefore, they had insisted upon Marlene inviting Sirius to spend the last week before they returned to Hogwarts for the Seventh and final year.

Marlene pushed herself off her bed, fiddling with the small silver chain that hung around her neck. A present from her parents on her Seventeenth birthday.

"You're not going to put something else on?" David raised an eyebrow at Marlene's scruffy attire.

"Why would I do that?" Marlene rolled her eyes.

"Um, perhaps because your boyfriend is coming?" He suggested.

"He's seen me in pyjamas dad," laughed Marlene, "it's not like he cares."

David's face turned completely white, "why has he seen you in pyjamas?"

"Perhaps because they live in the same dormatry," suggested Erica as she breezed past.

"See, Erica understands," Marlene said cheerfully. At that very moment, the doorbell rang and Marlene heard her mother scrambling to open the door.

Marlene grinned at her dad, and walked towards the front door, where Sirius was taking off a leather jacket and greeting Sarah with a large smile.

"Give Erica your coat, she can hang it up for you," Sarah told him, "and Lenie can take your trunk upstairs."

Marlene shot Sirius a grin before drawing her wand, "wingardium leviosar." She murmured. Sirius's large school trunk floated upwards and Marlene hurried off to place it in the guest bedroom.

When she returned downstairs, it was to see David continuing to cook dinner as Sarah happily chatted away to Sirius, who was sitting opposite her at the polished kitchen table, smiling politely.

Marlene suppressed a laugh at the expression on Sirius's face. She had never seen him regarding anyone with such politeness.

She strode over to the table and took a seat beside Sirius, "right, who on earth are you, and what have you done with Sirius Black?" Marlene demanded of him, with a smile.

"I have no idea what you're talking about Lenie," Sirius gave her an innocent smile. Marlene sighed and shook her head.

Sarah was looking back and forth between the two, with quite a large grin on her face.

"Oh aren't you two just adorable together," Sarah said, "David, aren't they adorable?" David grunted, not looking up from his cooking.

Marlene felt herself blush, and Sirius snorted in laughter at how red her face had gone.

"Grubs up!" David said, placing the dinner on the table.

"Leave the door open!" David yelled at the retreating figures of Marlene and Sirius as they made their way up the stairs after dinner.

"Yeah!" Marlene yelled back as she closed her bedroom door behind her and Sirius.

The two collapsed down on Marlene's bed and stared at the ceiling.

"Have you had a good summer?" Marlene asked.

"Yeah," replied Sirius, "Prongs and Wormtail helped me move most of my stuff into my new flat, and I finally bought myself a motor cycle."

"Dad will be thrilled to hear about that!" Marlene laughed, "he hates motor cycles."

Sirius laughed and threw his arm around Marlene, pulling her in close.

"I missed you," Sirius kissed her forehead.

"You missed," grinned Marlene.

Sirius simply rolled his eyes and kissed her. A proper kiss.

"I love you Sirius Black," Marlene murmured.

"I love you too Marlene McKinnon."
