Date Night
Months passed since Star was born. You and Mark were so busy and tired from all the work that parenting entailed that you hadn't spent time together in what felt like ages. You had been texting your best friend, Signe, telling her everything. You told her how you missed your old date nights and just cuddling on the couch watching TV with Mark. She comforted you as you vented.
Weeks passed since you had told Signe that. You and Mark were both on your nerve's end today. Star hadn't stopped crying since she woke up.
"(Y/N)?! THE BABY IS CRYING!" You heard Mark yell.
"Can you help her? I'm busy!" You called back as you loaded the washing machine.
"I'm in the middle of recording!"
"Can you just do something other than record for once?!" You yelled as you stomped through the house and up to Star's play pen. You picked her up and soothed her until she was fast asleep. You then took her into her room and laid her in the crib. You snatched up the baby monitor and stormed into Mark's room.
"Next time she crys, it's your turn!" You turned to walk out, but felt Mark grip your wrist.
"I can't have this in here while I record. Take it!" He yelled as he shoved the monitor at you.
You were infuriated. "MARK EDWARD FISCHBACH! LET GO OF MY WRIST!"
"NOT UNTIL YOU TAKE THE DAMN MONITOR!"
"JUST TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY FOR ONCE INSTEAD OF MAKING THOSE F*CKING VIDEOS!"
"TAKE CARE OF MY FAMILY?! WHAT DO YOU THINK I DO EVERYDAY? I'M THE ONE THAT CLEANS THE HOUSE AND MAKES MOST OF THE MONEY. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, GET OUT!"
Your mouth dropped open as his words sunk in. You ran out of the room as tears streamed down your cheeks. You snatched up your keys as you heard Mark apologize behind you.
"Maybe you should think before you speak, Mark," you whispered as you slammed the door.

As soon as I yelled those words, I immediately regretted it. I saw her cry as she ran away. My heart broke as I chased after her. She didn't even turn around before she slammed the door. I figured that it was best to let her go so she can clear her mind. I figured I should do the same. Maybe I should help out more with Star. I walked into her room and watched her sleep. She looked so peaceful. I thought that parenting was supposed to be easy. I never thought that it would make (Y/N) and I so angry at each other. We're both just tired and frustrated, that's all. I miss our old dates. I miss when we could play video games together. Although I love Star, I miss not having to worry about a child. I decided to call Jack and talk it out with him.

You drove around town as you thought about everything. You just wished everything would go back to normal. You eventually parked at a coffee shop and called Signe.
"Signe, I can't do this anymore. I'm not a good mother."
"Hey, don't say that! You're an amazing mother!"
"Mark and I got in a fight today."
"What was it about?"
"It was over taking care of Star. I'm just so tired. I wish Mark and I could go out on a date again. I miss the old days."
"How about Sean and I fly over there next weekend and take care of the baby for you two?"
"You'd really do that for me?"
"Of course I would!"
You smiled as you thanked Signe multiple times.
When you got home, you and Mark apologized to each other. You made up with a passionate kiss. You explained to Mark that Signe and Jack were coming over.
"Yes, I get to see my boo again!" Mark yelled, waking up Star.
You rolled your eyes at him as both of you went into her room to help her.

Signe and Jack arrived early Friday morning. You and Mark were both excited when you picked them up from the airport. You and Mark caught up with your best friends as you drove home. You got them settled in the house before you decided to make breakfast. You made pancakes and bacon. They all thanked you as you sat down at the table with Star in your arms. You gave her her bottle and talked with your guests as they ate.
Time flew by, and it was soon the afternoon. Signe and Jack made sure that you and Mark didn't have to take care of Star all day. Once you tried to feed her, but Signe kicked you out of the room. You and Mark didn't know what to do with the time that it gave you. Signe told you two to go on a date. It had been so long since you had gone on a date with Mark. You didn't even know what restaurant to go to. Jack helped Mark pick one out as you went to get ready. You picked out a cute red dress with black heels. You came out of the bathroom to find Mark half naked in your bedroom.
"Mark, you're supposed to be getting ready!" You said as blush flushed your cheeks as you saw he was only in boxers.
"Aw, c'mon. You know you like it," Mark said as he twerked a little.
You giggled and shoved him aside. You waited outside of the room until Mark came out dressed in a nice shirt and pants. He offered his arm to you, and you linked yours with his, giggling in the process. You both thanked Signe and Jack a thousand times before heading out the door.

Dinner was amazing with Mark. You had forgotten how much fun a date with Mark could be. You two screamed lyrics in the car as you headed home. When you got home, you changed into sweat pants and one of Mark's shirts. Mark changed into basketball shorts and a shirt. He smiled when he saw you had his shirt on. You collapsed on the couch, and after he pulled a movie up, Mark joined you. He swung his arm around you, and you snuggled up to him. Soon, you two were fast asleep, cuddling under the covers. Jack walked around the living room with Star, rocking her to sleep. He and Signe smiled at you two.
"I'm so glad we could help them," Signe said as she rested her head on Jack's shoulder.
