At birth, every child is giving a pendant. That pendant has a special meaning to everyone. That pendant, once the one who wears it, has turned 22, will get warm when they are around the man or woman they are destined to be with. Once they come across their soulmate, it will get hot, and glow. Once they have found each other, they have to look into each others eyes, then they will know, like an instinct. Plus the burning piece of metal of their chest, that's gotta give it away too. And once you've found your soulmate, you'll be happy forever. That's how it's supposed to work at least. 

Today is Y/N's 22nd birthday, the day she was supposed to find her soulmate. 

(I'm going to write in first person okay? It's just easier!)

I woke up, grabbed fresh clothes and headed to the bathroom for a nice, long, refreshing shower. I turned on the water and stripped down as i waited for it to turn warm. I stepped in the shower and relished in the warm feeling, then it hit me. Today was the day, the day i finally meet my soulmate! All of my friends already had found theirs, so i was itching to find mine!

 Well, almost all my friends, my best friend since we were kids, Mark, he didn't have his soulmate. He moved away a few months ago, though. He moved to LA and i stayed in Cincinnati, all my family was here i wouldn't ever leave them. I still talk to Mark everyday, though! We video chat and call each other whenever there's a chance. 

After the shower, and i snapped out of my thoughts i got dressed, just casual. I'm not into girly, pink gross things. I put on a pair of jeans, mis-matched socks, a Twenty One Pilots shirt and a pair of converse. I went downstairs and saw my sister in the kitchen, she was talking to her boyfriend, or soulmate, whatever. "Hey sis!" I greeted, headed for the door to go and meet up with Bob, Wade and Sean at the game store. "Hey! Are you excited?" She asked. "Yes! But, at the same time not really....i don't know. But i gotta go! Bye!" I quickly said and left the house. I walked down the street, never feeling the necklace heat up or anything. Finally I reached the game store and Sean pounced on my and hugged me tight, same with Wade and Bob. 

After they finished attacking me we walked into the store, a thought came to mind."Is Mark coming home for my party?" I asked, they all shrugged. "Real helpful ya dim wits!" I said and went outside and called him. He didn't answer, "Must be busy" i said and shrugged walking back inside. I picked out a couple games and Bob insisted on buying them for me, since he forgot to buy me a gift earlier, i finally gave in and said fine. 

Sean bought me an ice cream and we started walking to the park, people bustling around and chatting, others sitting and soaking up the sun. I felt my pendant, nothing. Sean noticed and nudged me with his elbow. "You'll find him soon, lass!" He said and smiled. I smiled back and tousled his green hair. He moved here from Ireland with his family when he was 12, Me, Him and Mark were friends first, then we met Bob and Wade. 

We finished our ice creams and then walked to hair salon, i was finally getting my hair dyed! I was getting the tips of my H/C dyed F/C! Like an ombre'! So i sat in the chair and the woman asked what i wanted, i told her. They got to work. It took a couple of hours...but it was so worth it! My hair looked amazing! After that, the boys walked me home and made me go to my room. "Guys, i already know about the party!" I told them, "What? What party?" Wade said, attempting to be innocent. "Whatever. I'm going back out to...um, try and find my guys!" I said and left again. 

I grabbed my phone and called Mark again, "Hello?" He finally answered. "Hey Mark!" I greeted excitedly. "Oh, hey! Happy birthday, Y/N! Found your soulmate yet?" He asked, I giggled, "No. You? Oh, and a very Happy birthday to you, too, Mr.Fischbach!" I told him. "Thanks!" He laughed. 

I felt the pendant get warm, i brushed it off as nothing, the sun was bright and warm, it was most likely that. "Well, i gotta go....Have a good birthday and find yourself a hot man!" Mark joked and I smiled, "You go out and find a hot chick!" I giggled. "Buh-bye!" He sang and hung up. My pendant felt cold, ice cold. "That's odd.." I mumbled. I shrugged it off again and walked around for a bit, once i reached my house again Bob texted me and told me to get back here, well his exact words were:

Bob: Get your poor excuse for a butt back here! Stop huntin' for the man that your gonna bang for the rest of your life!

I couldn't help but laugh at that message, i walked inside, the lights were off. "Oh, how totally un-suspicious!" I said and then they all sprang up and yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I smiled and hugged them all. We had cake, shared laughs and i opened up the gifts. They were all amazing. I snuck upstairs to wrap Mark's gift, i was going to mail it to him tomorrow. I had weeved a bracelet together, and put charms on it. A symbol of our friendship. Today also marked the day I met Mark, 10 years! we've all know each other since we were 12. I gave it a once over and nodded, proud of my wrapping skills. I went back downstairs and it was only two o'clock! "Damn!" I said, Sean just looked at my with a brow raised. "Times going slow today.." I told him, he just nodded. "Well, i guess i'll go and hunt again.." I said. They all smiled and wished me luck! 

I looked at my watch, eight o'clock, six hours! "Six fucking hours!" I said and let out a huff. My phone vibrated, a text from Mark, seeing his name i felt my pendant heat up. I quickly looked up and around, no one was near. I sighed and read the message.

Markimoo: I just remembered! I'll send out your gift tomorrow! I really hope you'll like it! :)) 

Y/N: I need to send your out tomorrow too! And i'm sure it's wonderful, Markimoo! :)

Markimoo: Your gonna like mine the best! It's awesome! Because i'm awesome!!! :P

Y/N: Whatever, ya big goof! ;P

Markimoo: Gotta go :( We can Skype in a couple hours, okay? Say around....10? 

Y/N: Okey dokey! :) Buh-Bye!

Markimoo: Buh-bye!! 

I put me phone back into your pocket, the pendant went ice cold again. I looked at it, it was a blue color. I frowned and decided to call it a night. "Maybe i'll find my soulmate tomorrow, i'm going home and eating cake.." I mumbled. I went back inside the house, My friends were already gone and they went home themselves. I went to my room, got into my Fairy Tail pj's and flopped on my bed. I grabbed my laptop and phone. laying on my stomach, fuzzy socked feet on the headboard. I scrolled through Tumble, Twitter and Instagram. Absolutely nothing interesting. I saw a picture of Mark, i smiled and felt the pendant warm up a tad, i rolled my eyes, and brushed it off as nothing, again. 

Ten O'clock rolled around and my laptop rang, a Skype call, from Mark. Obviously. I answered it and saw Mark, "Hi!" I said happily, his hair was dyed red at the top. "Nice hair!" I said and smirked, "Same to you!" He said and smirked as well. "So, what's up?" He asked, "Not much, couldn't find my soulmate....guess i'll try tomorrow." I informed him. "Same here, not a single girl made my necklace heat up or glow..." He said. Our eyes met, i felt a warm sensation by my chest. He broke the eye contact when his dog had entered the room. "Oh! I wanna see Chica!" I yelled excitedly. He lifted her up, "Damn.." I thought. "Hi Chica!" I said she looked confused and licked the webcam. "Chica, no!" Mark said through laughter. "Aww! She loves me!" I said and giggled. 

We talked until one, then he had to go to bed, early morning recording stuff. "Goodnight Mark!" I said with a smile. "Night Night, Y/N!" He said with a smile and waved. I closed the laptop, got under the covers and tried to fall asleep. My pendant felt ice cold again, I looked down at it and saw something in it. I couldn't make it out though. I laid back down and tried to sleep, but images of Mark were running through my head. I opened my eyes and sat up with a jolt. "Oh my God! I know who my soulmate is!" I yelled. ~To Be Continued...
