A friend
Mark. That name. It sounds so familiar. I've never met anyone named mark in my life. Why do I feel...a connection with him? Its like we have met before.
"Um, Y/N? Are you ok?
Shoot, I forgot he was there.
"Oh, sorry. I was just spacing out," I laughed nervously.
"I was wondering if maybe we could maybe get lunch sometime or something," he asked, "Don't take this the wrong way. I know we just met, but I was just...like a friend lunch."
I gave him a happy look and said,"I would love to!"
"Great! 12:00ish maybe?"
"Sure," I responded,"what day?
"Saturday."
"Deal."
The day went by and I came back from work. I finally made a new friend! After moving into this apartment I've been lonely. I lied down on my couch, staring at the half empty boxes of my stuff on the floor. I sighed. Might as well put all this stuff away.
About half an hour later after i put everything away, I cooked myself some food and then took a nap. I woke up and it was tomorrow. Woah. I slept in! I gotta go! I got dressed and went to my car. I turned the key but it wasn't turning in. I punched the horn and got out. Then I started running my way to work in high heels. I was running until I heard a honk! I looked around and saw Mark rolling down the window and saying, "Need a ride?"
I got in the car and said,"Thankyou. Pant pant im late to work. Can you drive me?"
"Sure. Where is it," he responded. Then I pointed to the giant building that looks like it could fall down any second," Over there."
"The book company? You write books?"
"Yeah. I've written a few."
"I would love to read them," he responded.
"Really? Ok. I'll send you some."
We pulled up to the building and he said," Cant wait to read this books!"
I got out the car and said bye. Then he drove away. I felt some sort of passion for that man. Why? The gleam in his eyes. The kindness. The long glossy hair. I realized that I was daydreaming when one of my fellow workers came out and poked me on my shoulder. "Huh? Oh! Sorry im late!," I said.
"You better be. Boss isn't going to be happy when he figures out you were staring into plain nothingness this whole time," she said. Was I really staring for five whole minutes? I need to get it together. But there was something about him. I just couldn't figure it out.
