Meal #12 - Red-Flippered Prawns

It was a wonderful day at Kunugigaoka Middle School.

And by wonderful, it was really quite boring.

The Satellite campus where the Class E were every day was alive with Koro-sensei's shenanigans and his students trying to assassinate him.

And in the Main campus, it was exceedingly dull.

All there was going on was a painful chorus of scribbling pencils, annoying lecturing from snobby teachers, and the whiny voices of students too stuck up to give a damn about anything except for themselves.

And so, Loki-Roki the penguin was bored.

Her blank-slate of a face didn't show it as she waddled down the corridors, her shopping bag of food items dragging along the floor behind her.

There was absolutely nothing to do. She couldn't be bothered climbing up that mountain now that it was the middle of the school day, and hell if she was going to sit there turning class A's exam papers into origami cranes beneath the teachers desk again.

The death-glares she received non-stop from the Tangerine was enough to make things uncomfortable after being around for a week.

It was obvious he was planning something now that he could see her.

And she wasn't intent on finding out what that something was.

So, she thought she might as well make use of her other hiding place.

It had been a couple of weeks since she'd utilized it – The last time was when she wanted the code to the Tangerine's locker, so she snuck in and used the security camera's to obtain it.

He seemed to have gotten the code changed recently, so she needed to find the new code.

And what better place than the office belonging to the Tangerine's father?

The annoying voice belonging to one of the class D sheep with the rat-face came to Loki-Roki's notice as she passed by the door to his homeroom, causing the penguin to slow to a halt.

After a small moment of deliberation, Loki-Roki spared ten minutes to devour the weaselly guy's lunch right there under his desk, though she made a mental note to merely throw it out next time.

She had no idea whether or not he made the lunch himself, or it was someone else. But whoever made it really couldn't cook.

She was probably doing the bastard a favor, not inconveniencing him.

No matter, it meant he had to go buy his lunch, now.

With her mischief managed, Loki-Roki soon arrived at the rather intimidating door that opened up into the office of doom.

As always, considering the penguin's remarkably short stature and lack of opposable thumbs and fingers, she stood next to the door in wait for the very next instance that it would open.

The doorhandle was far too high, and she couldn't jump up to reach it.

People walked past, over and over.

And then, all of a sudden the door itself opened from the inside after she had waited half an hour or so.

Out walked the Tangerine's father, neatly dressed in his suit and tie, his sharp gaze ahead as he mulled over whatever evil things were on his mind.

She waited until he had stepped past before she waddled inside.

Just in time, too. If she was even a second slower, her bag of lunch would have been caught in the door.

The door shut behind the penguin with a click, locking her inside the overly dark and remarkably empty room.

It was almost like Gendo Ikari's office in Evangelion, with how empty it was, and the only light there was happened to be from the wall-lengthed window to the side.

Well, there's no point standing on ceremony.

The penguin hummed as she waddled her way over to the desk, clambering up onto the chair to help herself up onto the desk next.

Bag of food dragged up onto the surface, it was all Loki-Roki needed for a good expedition on Student Spying.

She pressed  the button on the top of the desk, lifting the monitor from its hiding place, pressing the power button on the bottom of the monitor to get it running, as she had done the last time she had come in.

After a few minutes, she had even gotten the program running, and everything was displayed over the screen.

With her mischief in the works, Loki-Roki was pleased.

'Kyukukuku~!' The Penguin sounded in enthusiasm, lifting a store bought seafood platter from her bag and popping the lid open.

With her rainbow-covered notebook set open on the desk in front of her, the Penguin munched away at her mass of tempura prawns first.

There wasn't anything particularly interesting at first, she found as she scrolled through the 102 camera's active throughout the main building. Creepy man, Asano Gakuho had the A classes all bookmarked, the camera's at the back of the classrooms more prominent than all the rest.

She wondered if he tended to look in and see just what the students were answering to questions in their notebooks before the teachers did.

Maybe that was why he was so eerily knowledgeable?

Come the start of the ten minute intermission between fifth and sixth period, things started getting rather interesting on the camera feeds. The shells from some prawns were discarded onto the desk – She'd clean them up later, when she was ready to leave.

While the Tangerine hadn't left his classroom yet in preference for scanning over his notes for the day, there were other instances that had caught the Penguin's attention.

A rather poorly disguised Octopus had wandered into the main campus, his ever-present grin across his face as he placed coin after coin in all of the vending machines and purchased all of the super-sweet drinks from the machines.

On a nearby Camera, an irate looking Karasuma was marching down the corridor, obviously to drag the secret-creature back up the mountain before anyone realized he wasn't human.

And, more amusingly still, Toadsworth looked like she was about to throw a fit in her particular classroom when she got snubbed by her current victim of emotional blackmail.

There was a lot that suited the Penguin's amusement, all of these factors were added into her journal as her last tempura prawn hung from her beak.

Until she heard the sounds of a rather intrigued humming.

All of a sudden, the air seemed to turn frigidly cold, alerting the penguin just a little too late to the presence standing over her.

The prawn fell from her beak as she froze in her place, the first true expression showing across her face.

It was one of undiluted fear.

'Hmmm, well this is quite interesting.' The voice belonging to Asano Gakuho spoke, the smallest hint of curiosity in his tone. 'I'd known something has been causing mischief in my school for quite a while now, but I didn't expect this.'

A hand reached past the penguin to press a few buttons on the keyboard, shifting the displayed image to one of the top of the principal's desk.

The image was a live feed, and it showed a little blue penguin sitting on the desk in amongst all the prawn shells.

'An invisible penguin that only becomes visible to those who acknowledge its existence... I've never heard of something like this before.' Gakuho spoke.

Damn it ... she was doomed.

She knew it for certain as she was grabbed by the flipper and turned around.

The terrifying principal sat down in his chair, leaning back as he seemed to observe Loki-Roki with piercing intensity.

It would be stupid to run away, now.

He could see her – There was no point in running now.

Within the few seconds since Gakuho had sat down, a menacing glint had appeared in his gaze as he seemed to come to a sudden thought.

'Considering that you managed to open up my desk and get my computer working, you're not just a typical penguin.' Gakuho surmised, linking his hands together as he stared Loki-Roki down. 'You have some form of intelligence, and I suspect you can understand what I'm saying much like any human in this school.'

Terrifying – This man was absolutely terrifying.

A chilling chuckle escaped Gakuho as he straightened up in his chair.

'This is quite auspicious. I can accomplish a lot by utilizing a creature with your particular technicalities.'

Evil laughter was all that rung through the office, as Loki-Roki resigned herself to her unfortunate fate.
