Oceans, Chapter Thirty Five - Gekido [激怒]
The arrival at the modest Inn was uneventful, filled with nothing but griping from students towards Koro-sensei, who at that point was afflicted with motion-sickness as he remarked that he was going to make a dash back to Tokyo just for his personal pillow.
The accommodation provided to Class-E was two large rooms, one for the female students to sleep in, one for the male students. Teachers got their own rooms of course. There was a lot of excited chattering amongst the students for the larger part of the night, speckled with small moments of chaos where they'd try to assassinate a wandering Koro-sensei, or bicker with others.
Amaya had spent the conscious part of her evening reading, the futon allocated to her unused in the corner of the room a decent part away from the other girls own futons. She merely sat upon it - nothing more.
Sleeping in the classroom was one thing, because one way or another there was always someone she trusted around when she was passed out like that. But here in a shared room with all the other girls?
Amaya didn't have anywhere near enough trust for the girls of her class to let that part of her defenses down.
And the only person who would ever get her to admit that to anyone would be Karma, of course.
Amaya spent the night while everyone was asleep curled up in a sitting position with her knees pulled up to her chest, her ears trained for any sounds of disturbances amongst her classmates. She could even hear some of the boys snoring away in the room next door, because her futon was propped up next to the wall that separated the two rooms, and the walls were thin enough for conversation to be heard from either side if one knew what to listen for.
Come sometime just before sunrise, Amaya had lifted herself from her futon and folded it away, careful to not disturb any of the other girls in the room. She got changed into one of her clean sets of uniform, unhooked her charged phone from the wall, and recovered her particularly important possessions before stashing her bag beneath the folded futon, out of prying view.
It wasn't functional to wander around with a larger-than-normal messenger bag, after all.
Her Ocarina stayed in her bag, purely because she didn't want to carry it around when she could easily get pulled into a fight against meat-slabs she wasn't familiar with. Having it on her back in Tokyo would be fine, because she was familiar with the strengths and habits of those punching-bags, as well as all necessary escape-routes in case something went wrong.
Amaya wandered through the near-silent Inn, her headphones in place and her gaze tracing the darkness-filled expanses all around her.
It was otherworldly at this time in the morning. Empty, yet oddly suffocating at the same time.
Much like a little tank filled with artificial water, the darkness-filled Inn stirred up a primordial sense of discomfort within her.
She ended up setting herself in the common room of the inn, tucking herself into the corner of one of the couches while she listened to her music.
Erratic piano scores were the soundtrack to the darkness that surrounded her, just enough to draw her attention from the stifling air. It drew her into a state where she lost herself to thought right up until the sun had risen, and the teachers were waking everyone up.
It was the sudden appearance of another on the couch with her that finally jerked her out of her thoughts, however.
Slouched back into the couch lazily with his eyes drooping shut, Karma took up the space next to her with no more than a few inches between them. He looked tired, almost as if he hadn't slept yet.
Though Amaya knew for a fact that he had.
'Having trouble waking up, again?' Amaya asked the red-head as she turned her head away from him.
Her question had earned an unappreciative groan from him, along with a couple mumbled curse words.
She didn't take his mumbled curse of 'Sadistic Cat' all that seriously, since Karma was almost never a happy person first thing in the morning.
Amaya often felt sorry for his alarm-clock. There was no knowing how many he had killed over time, but Amaya was more than certain it would be a nightmare to have to wake the grumpy boy up every morning.
A fate worse than death, perhaps?
Amaya cast a glance at Karma, to find that his eyes were closed, and it appeared he'd nodded back to sleep.
In fact, she was pretty certain that he was actually intending to.
'Karma.' Amaya spoke in a rather matter-of-fact tone of voice, earning no response from the boy in mention.
However she did notice his brow twitch ever so slightly.
'If you go back to sleep, I'm going to do something horrible to you.'
'Like what ...?' He mumbled back.
'I'll draw on your face with a marker.' Amaya deadpanned.
There was no response at first, however after what felt like a minute, Karma opened his eyes and turned his head to fix her with a frown.
Had that done the trick?
'You do that, and I'll make your life miserable.'
'Good luck with that.' Amaya retorted with a sigh as she sunk into the couch. It wasn't like it was sunshine and rainbows right now, anyway.
No words met her remark, however.
'Katsuragi-san.' A bouncy, jovial voice spoke up from the doorway that lead to the corridors of the Inn.
Amaya felt a twitch escape her as she recognized the voice to belong to none other than Koro-sensei.
Bitterly, Amaya turned on the couch in order to look at the teacher, to find him already in his disguise, and he was looking at her with that ever-prominent grin of his.
'Sensei's made changes to the plans for today.' Koro-sensei began, his cloth-covered tentacles wriggling around him as he spoke. 'Please disregard my decision for you to accompany Irina-sensei and Karasuma-sensei today - You will accompany me, instead.'
Amaya was silent at first, struggling to keep a straight face as Koro-sensei's words sunk in on her.
She had to spend the whole day with Koro-sensei?
Following him around, not being able to do anything but watch everyone else try and assassinate him?
This wasn't a punishment for something she didn't know she did, anymore - this was undeniable torture.
'I refuse.' Amaya spoke in a blunt, emotionless manner, reflecting the look that she desperately kept across her face.
'Arrangements have already been made with Irina-sensei and Karasuma-sensei - this is not up for negotiation.' The disguised creature remarked, his tone still jovial and bouncy. 'Please listen to Sensei and behave yourself today.'
And with that, Koro-sensei turned on his tentacles and began to make his way back into the other parts of the Inn.
Not up for negotiation?
He told her to behave herself!?
Just what the hell did he mean by that?!
What right did the asshole who'd separated her from everyone like she'd done something wrong have to tell her to behave herself?!
She'd done nothing but sit on the train and read her god-damn book! She only moved to another seat when he prodded too much at her!
It wasn't even her fault that he had to just sit there and invade her personal space like that!
'Amay.' Karma spoke up all of a sudden, snapping Amaya out of her spiraling train of thought.
She turned her head towards him, to find that he was crouched down on the floor in front of her, a particularly sharp look in his eyes. Something seemed to be bothering him, though for the life of her she didn't really know what it could be.
'Sorry? Did you say something?'
He didn't answer her at first, instead electing to maintain his gaze with hers like he was picking apart her very disposition.
'There's no point getting angry, now.' He told her, his tone uncharacteristically serious as he watched Amaya's confused expression. 'All that's gonna do is tell him that he's getting to you.'
A small sigh escaped Amaya as she finally understood what he was getting at.
'What am I supposed to do then?'
'What you've been doing, already.' Karma responded, a smirk slowly creeping across his face as Amaya stared at him. 'If Karasuma-sensei hadn't made a point of forcing Koro-sensei to stay away from you yesterday, he probably would have cracked before we even got here.'
Amaya blinked in surprise at that, however she eventually nodded her head slightly.
'... Okay.' She gave in.
'Karma-kun!' Came Nagisa's voice all of a sudden, just as Karma had opened his mouth to say something, causing both to turn their heads towards the suddenly present boy.
The blue-clad boy was walking over with a particularly huge book in red bindings under one arm, with Sugino, Kayano, the girl who she guessed to be called Kanzaki, and Okuda in tow. In the back parts of the corridor they'd just come through, Amaya could see other approaching forms.
Well ... it looked like the torture was about to begin.
Karma looked back at Amaya for a second, before he straightened up to standing on his feet, and his hands buried in the pockets of his jacket.
'Are we going, already?' Karma asked the approaching five as Amaya pulled her feet up onto the edge of the couch, and pulled her headphones in place over her ears again.
'Yeah - We've got until two this afternoon to go over everything, so we should get going.' Nagisa answered, seeming to glance at Amaya from Karma for just a second.
She guessed he didn't greet her because of the headphones, and the fact that she was looking down at her phone.
She did notice that Okuda actually made a point of giving her a wide berth, as if she was still scared of her - She actually stood a couple of meters further than everyone else, her gaze anywhere except for in Amaya's direction.
Amaya had no idea why, only that it was a bit of a slap to the face.
She'd never done anything to this girl, verbally or physically - Why was Okuda the only one that still avoided being near her unless there was no choice? Even Okano, who had initially seemed to dislike Amaya even greeted her in the mornings, now.
There was a point where being shy just wasn't an excuse anymore, especially since the girl had never once spoken a word to Amaya in the whole month since she'd come to Class E.
Enough was enough, right?
She wasn't wrong for feeling insulted, was she?
Or had she actually done something to deserve such a blatant act of avoidance like that?
She just didn't know, just like she didn't understand why Koro-sensei had removed her from all group activities, and even decided to chain her to him for the whole time.
But there was nothing she could do about the matter - If she approached the girl to try and at least say something, there was no telling what she'd do.
Amaya's violent reputation was a bit too prominent, and if there was a situation where Okuda screamed or feared that she was in harm's way, then Amaya had no leg to stand on.
Who would everyone believe if a situation occurred? The meek, shy girl who'd never done anything wrong before? Or the self-sufficient girl who beat the tar out of other people more often than not?
It was a no-brainer that people would probably side with Okuda.
People standing up for her was a rarity, because when it came to confrontations, it was easier to just blame her as the cause with ill intent.
There was a small moment somewhere in the midst of her train of thought, when she realized that everyone had gone.
She looked up from her phone, turning her gaze to the door that lead out the front of the Inn as she heard the faint sounds of the door sliding shut.
She blinked slowly, her gaze slowly falling to her knees as she realized they'd all left her behind.
She didn't know whether anyone had said anything when they left, but right where she was, it felt like they'd failed to notice her.
And it was the most lonely, painful feeling she knew.
It was also the most familiar feeling.
It was the same, suffocating loneliness that haunted her subconscious.
The same water that filled her inner world almost every single day.
Only now, it felt like she was trapped under a waterfall, and she didn't know if it was worth the bother in kicking up to the surface anymore.
'Katsuragi-san.' That bouncy voice spoke up, drawing Amaya's thoughts to the impending torture. 'Please put your Music Player away - It's now time to go.'
Amaya lifted her gaze to look up at the single presence in the common room with her.
Koro-sensei was strolling past, his gaze ahead and his disguise still in place.
Amaya slowly did as she was told, for the most part.
Her headphones stayed in place, playing music as she rose to her feet. She built up her emotionless front as best she could, struggling against the water crashing around inside her as she followed Koro-sensei silently.
She wanted to be anywhere else but here.
Anywhere else - She regretted even agreeing to come.
She regretted the fact that she didn't just stay at home.
The world outside the Inn they were staying at was bright, uncomfortable, the rays of sun painful against her pale skin. It aggravated her achromatosis, and if Amaya wasn't careful, she was going to wind up with a vicious sunburn before the day was up.
'Such a beautiful day. Sensei thinks this is perfect weather for wandering the streets of Kyoto.' Koro-sensei announced, almost as if he was trying to make conversation.
Amaya remained silent three meters behind Koro-sensei as she began to gently unroll the sleeves of her shirt, so that they reached her wrists.
The disguised creature cast a glance towards her over his shoulder, though he didn't say anything.
He instead continued to lead the way into Kyoto on foot, stopping at many of the food-stalls to purchase sweets along the way. He would make small statements here and there, seeming to try and tempt Amaya into a conversation.
Of course it didn't work - Amaya walked silently, hands buried in her pockets and her head turned away from the sun as best she could.
The one stop that Koro-sensei insisted upon was a stop at a Yatsuhashi vendor just a couple blocks away from what turned out to be a tram-station. He'd remarked that he cannot pass up some of Kyoto's wonderful Yatsuhashi.
He bought three packs, eating two on the way with the third saved for what Amaya learned to be the first Assassination attempt of the day.
It was almost like he expected what was planned for him, which was oddly illuminating.
The first group for assassination attempts turned out to be Isogais group, comprised of fellow classmates Kimura, Maehara, Okano, Yada, Kataoka, and Kurahashi.
It turned out that at around 9.30am, Group 1 was taking a tram to sight-see around the Sagano Line. Koro-sensei lead the way to the station, where everyone was already waiting. At the sight of Amaya's emotionless form in tow, confusion flashed across Isogai and Maehara's faces, though the former quickly seemed to realize what was going on, and shot her a sincere, sympathetic look.
Everyone boarded the tram one by one, and settled down in seats on board.
Amaya however opted for standing in the empty spot at the back of the tram a couple of rows away, her arms crossed over her chest, and her eyes upon the world outside the windowless tram.
There was some small moment of Koro-sensei praising how fast the 20kph tour tram was going, and within a few seconds, the tram came to a slow halt on one of the bridges crossing over the Hozu Valley, presumably so that the tourists could stand and take a proper look.
It was a peaceful kind of setting, very lush with life on the shores, and the water appeared very clear, too. There was no scent of the typical city pollution, and in fact the air had a crisp, fresh feel about it. A boat was in the middle of passing beneath the Hozu Valley Bridge, full of tourists, who were all looking up at the tram with a kind of curiosity to their faces.
Amaya made a point of shifting over, so that the edge of the tram blocked all glimpses of the water from her sight.
While safe enough up on the Hozu Valley Bridge, that didn't mean the sight of all that water didn't make her nervous.
Kurahashi rose to her feet as soon as the tram had fallen still, leaning over the edge of the window for just a second.
Amaya glanced over for just a moment, just in time to see Koro-sensei lean over the edge as well to look, and Kurahashi turned her head to Isogai and Maehara, who then looked at each other for a second, their expressions severe.
It looked like whatever Assassination the seven members of Group 1 had planned, it had something to do with this bridge.
What it was, Amaya couldn't be sure - None of the seven students were making a move to do anything.
From the corner of Amaya's eye, she noticed the tiniest glimpse of a flash of light from over in the forest. It was small, almost unnoticeable if Amaya wasn't already watching her surroundings for anything about to happen.
Then, a couple mere seconds later, there was a faint bang in the distance, similar to that of either fireworks or a gunshot.
Curious, Amaya looked back over at the forest, however she didn't see anything that struck her as odd.
So she looked back over at Koro-sensei and Group 1.
Peculiarly, Koro-sensei had his arm-tentacle holding the Yatsuhashi he'd been about to eat in an odd angle at the side of his head, and all of Group 1 were looking at Koro-sensei like he'd just done something shocking.
Sticking out of the Kyoto sweet was a small cylinder, with the tiniest hints of what Amaya recognized to be an Anti-Sensei BB showing through the transparent material of the cylinder.
A bullet, huh?
So that's what it was.
Shots from a Sniping Marksman.
Amaya could only guess at what kind of Mach-20 maneuver Koro-sensei had used to dissolve the spinning, kinetic force behind a sniper-rifle shot, but she was willing to bet that whatever skills the marksman had, he or she would be beside themselves with horror at what had just transpired.
'Whoops! Found a tiny bone in my Kyoto sweet.' Koro-sensei announced buoyantly, turning his head to look at Kurahashi. 'That could've been ugly!'
As Koro-sensei turned his head to fix Isogai and Maehara with an obviously smug look despite the lack of yellow and green stripes, the two boys turned their heads away in annoyance.
Amaya let out a silent breath as she turned her attention back to the shore that glimpse of light had come from, her form standing firm against the jostling motions of the tram as it began to move along the tracks again.
A form strolled out of the trees as the last carriage crossed onto solid ground, a person dressed in earthen colours, and seemed to wear a poncho for some reason. Amaya watched the form while her vision was unobstructed, and the form watched the tram as it disappeared.
So, that was the marksman, was it?
Amaya wished them luck, but she wasn't holding her breath.
The rest of the trip was spent with a disheartened Group 1, a giddy Koro-sensei chewing on his Yatsuhashi, and Amaya staring off at the distance, praying that some intervention would save her from a whole day worth of this soul-crushing facade.
'That was a beautiful view over the Hozu Valley.' Koro-sensei announced in bright, hopeful conversation as he lead the way from the Sagano Tram line and the disappointed Group 1. 'Don't you think so? Katsuragi-san?'
Amaya remained silent, though she had heard the creature.
She did not want him to ever discover that she had problems with large bodies of water. In fact, she didn't want anyone to know about it - It was already bad enough that her siblings and Karma knew.
Koro-sensei let out a small hum of thought, before he looked around the area for a second.
'Mimura-kun's group should be at the Toei Uzumasa Studio Park around 11.20, so how about we take the long route through the markets, Katsuragi-san?'
Again, Amaya maintained her silence, however she did turn her head to look at Koro-sensei.
He seemed to be chewing on another sweet he'd just picked up from a vendor, open in his right arm-tentacle was one of those huge red-bound books she learned was a hand-written School-Trip Guidebook on Kyoto that he'd apparently made for every student, though oddly enough it didn't seem there was one for Amaya.
It may be because he'd decided she wasn't leaving the careful gaze of the Class E Faculty the whole trip, so she didn't need one.
That didn't mean she wasn't disheartened by the thought.
She wanted to know what she'd done that was so wrong, he'd separate her from everyone so suddenly - she hated the idea that she'd done something and didn't even know it.
But when Isogai and everyone else had questioned the Octopus about it, he just shrugged them off and said it was a decision he wasn't going to waver.
So she doubted he'd even tell her what reason he had for this.
Even if Koro-sensei did, there was no way for her to truly know if he was being completely honest with her, or he was sugar-coating an ulterior motive to be something educational for his students own well-being, like what he did when it came to Okuda and that tonic.
The walk through the markets was nothing really interesting - Just a whole heap of heavily-scented foods, enough burning incense to make Amaya's head begin to pound and nausea to prod at her, and of course little trinkets that did not interest Amaya one bit.
Koro-sensei however found the markets so interesting, he ended up spending over an hour there - He'd disappeared for about thirty seconds to deposit a whole heap of things he'd bought back at the Inn, before leading the way to the next Assassination Location.
Group 2, consisting of members Mimura as leader, Okajima, Chiba, Sugaya, Hayami, Fuwa and Nakamura were already in amongst a crowd circling a live-action performance in the middle of one of the street-sets in the Toei Uzumasa Studio Park.
It turned out to be a Play based around a Ronin-Samurai story, with a sword-fight right in the middle of the performance.
Amaya was never one for these sorts of things, but apparently Koro-sensei was.
No sweets in hand this time, Koro-sensei stood with his arm-tentacles folded over his front right at the barrier with Group 2, while Amaya took a back-seat against one of the prop-buildings to take advantage of the shade. She'd found a large barrel she could sit on and still be able to watch events unfold with little trouble.
'Now begone with you.' The lone Samurai actor shielding the Kimono-clad woman told the group of opposing Samurai in a bored tone of voice, causing Amaya to sigh ever so slightly. 'I do not care for the pointless waste of life.'
In near-seamless acting skills, the opposing Samurai trio growled, before shouting out, 'Go on Fellows-- Get him!'
It was typical bad guys getting mad at the lone Hero for talking down at them, but from the way that the actors did their work so clean and precisely, Amaya guessed this was their bread and butter to life.
They probably survived off of the income they earned here, giving regular performances to tourists.
The subordinates of the bad-guy trio drew their Katana in preparation for battle, while Group 2 crowded around Koro-sensei at the front of the crowd.
'Wow!' Okajima gasped in awe as the lone-samurai fluidly took out two of the charging subordinates to the bad-guy-trio. 'Their swords are so fast this close up!'
'They move very deliberately to make it look like that.' Koro-sensei explained to Okajima in his ever-normal tone of voice. 'I happen to love this kind of swordplay.'
The actors on the grounds behind the barricade began to set into a rather intricate and well choreographed fight-scene, making their way over towards Group 2 and Koro-sensei rather quickly.
'Whoa! They're coming this way!' Mimura gasped out as the actors got particularly close.
'Sensei! Over here!' Nakamura urged Koro-sensei, who hadn't budged an inch despite the chaotic scene unfolding mere feet in front of him.
'Hmm? Where, where?' Koro-sensei spoke up enthusiastically as he shuffled over to stand where Nakamura had motioned.
It was the very moment that the blond girl had turned her head to look towards one of the Outpost Towers nearby that Amaya realized what the shuffling was about.
The students were performing, too. Just like Group 1 back on the Tram.
Amaya looked over at the Outpost Tower that Nakamura had glanced at, to see the tiniest hint of a form up in the top lookout.
Much like on the train, there was the tiniest glimpse of light.
Amaya guessed that in about three to five counts, there'd be another shot from the Nameless Assassin with the Sniper-Rifle.
Although Amaya wondered how Koro-sensei was going to block this one - He didn't have any sweets on him right at that second, after all.
Then, seconds later, when Amaya realized that a shot hadn't been taken, she noticed that Koro-sensei had vanished from in amongst Group 2.
Letting out a deep breath through her nose, Amaya closed her eyes as she recalled one very particular, and game-changing tidbit about Koro-sensei.
He had a flare for the dramatic, much like a flamboyant, middle aged man eager to please anyone who'd pay him any attention.
He'd of course throw himself in the midst of the biggest commotion currently in the area, which would be with the Play.
And indeed Amaya was proven right.
She opened her eyes and looked over at the chaos inside the barricades to find Koro-sensei in typical ronin-samurai gear.
Typical.
Just damn typical.
They were stuck with a teacher who'd not only blown up three quarters of the moon just to validate his position in the world, was eager to be the centre of attention, had a bad habit of showing off, and was more than willing to play dirty just to get things his way.
There wasn't going to be any chance for her to escape before the end of the day, and with Koro-sensei whirling around in there with the actors, there was no way the poor Marksman was going to be able to pin the creature with an Anti-Sensei round, either.
Karma had told her to just keep ignoring Koro-sensei like she had been all yesterday, but right now she just didn't have any heart in her to do that.
She just wanted to go back to the Inn and hide under the pile of futons for the rest of the day.
She wanted to go home.
She wondered if the Marksman wanted to go home, too.
Or were they just frustrated, because they were tasked with picking off a creature with insane speed and capabilities?
Either which way, it didn't matter.
Because neither the wishes of Amaya, or the Marksman in the middle of freaking out at the top of that Outpost would come true, today.
'That was quite a fun performance, don't you agree? Katsuragi-san?' Koro-sensei asked in yet another attempt at tempting Amaya into conversation.
Yet again it didn't work, only this time it was because Amaya was at the end of her rope.
She was tired, miserable, and physically worn out from the day's events - And it was only 2pm.
However she'd managed to maintain a seamless, emotionless front the whole time since leaving the Inn. Just managing that alone had worn her our just as much as the walking.
'You should eat something, Katsuragi-san.' Koro-sensei remarked all of a sudden, looking at Amaya over his shoulder as he popped open a box of fresh-cooked anpan, and held it out towards her. 'You weren't at breakfast, and you haven't eaten anything since we've left the Inn. Have one.'
Silently, Amaya turned her head away in response.
Everything just had to be sweets with him - Did he even eat anything normal?
And did he have to be so god damn nosey, too?
She was sick of this.
She was so sick of it all that she didn't know if she was about to start crying, yelling, screaming, or all three combined.
Koro-sensei let out a sigh, retracting his arm-tentacle holding the box of anpan and taking to eating them himself.
'It's not healthy to stay silent, so much, Katsuragi-san.' Koro-sensei remarked, his tone lightly muffled by the whole anpan he'd tossed into his massive mouth. 'I imagine your parents must worry about you, especially when you were quite sick just two weeks ago.'
A twitch of agitation lingered in the back of Amaya's neck, however she managed to stop it from escaping her.
Her parents ... He was going to bring that up, again?
She hated it when people did that.
Koro-sensei tossed another anpan into his mouth, his gaze still straight ahead of them as Amaya followed silently.
'So, tell Sensei a bit about your family, Katsuragi-san - It can be anything you want about them. Anything that comes to mind.' He continued, shoving another anpan away. 'Sensei is interested in his students life, their happiness, and unlike everyone else, Sensei knows nothing about you other than what you show in class.'
Another twitch of agitation, pushing her harder and further away from the emotionless facade she'd struggled to build and keep intact.
'Katsuragi-san? Will you humor Sensei? Just this once?'
Amaya felt her grip on her facade vanish in an instance, and the waters in her inner world dragged her under within a second.
'Will you just shut up already?!' Amaya shouted, finally losing control of her composure, causing Koro-sensei to actually drop his box of anpan in fright. 'Why can't you take a hint and leave me the hell alone?!'
Out of the three clashing reactions that were fighting to take hold of her, the worst one took hold of her in the waters.
She lost herself to anger.
Full blown, explosive anger that fueled words, instead of violent motions from her hands.
'K-Katsuragi-san?!' Koro-sensei gasped out, whirling around to face the emotional girl.
'For starters, how about you drop that god-damn bumbling, goody-two-shoes teacher act!?' Amaya shouted, words flying out of her mouth faster than she could actually hear them, as Koro-sensei seemed to gape at her livid form. 'It ain't gonna work on somebody you've made distrust you to begin with, damnit!'
'Katsuragi-san - You need to calm down.' Koro-sensei spoke up, his arm-tentacles held up in emphasis of his words.
Unfortuantely, his words just made her angrier.
'Calm down?! I don't want to hear that from you!' Amaya yelled, her voice raising in octaves as bystanders stopped to stare at the incident unfolding in the middle of the street. 'How the hell am I supposed to calm down?! You've separated me from everyone else like I'm some kind of monster without even explaining anything! Like I'm being punished for something, and I don't know what the hell it is, but you wave it around like it's supposed to be obvious! You humiliated me in front of everyone more than once without even giving a damn about my feelings and now you won't god damn leave me alone about my life outside of school!? There just ain't no way I'm gonna just calm down!'
'Okay, Sensei understands that you're upset--'
'Upset!? I'm not upset! I'm angry, god damn it!' She yelled.
'S-Sensei understands--'
'You know what?! You don't damn well get anything!' Amaya yelled at the now panicking teacher, who was frantically glancing around at the bystanders that were beginning to multiply. 'You don't know a single thing about me because there ain't no way I'm gonna tell some two-faced jerk whatever he wants just because he wants to know when I haven't even told my best friend anything to begin with!'
Silence - Koro-sensei seemed to understand that he'd prodded her far too much, this time.
But just as Amaya opened her mouth to continue hurling abuse at the silent octopus, his phone started ringing.
It was just enough to have Amaya reel in enough of her fury to halt her words, and as Koro-sensei fumbled with his phone in a rather uncharacteristic moment of clumsiness, Amaya tore herself away from the creature and began to stalk away.
'K-Katsuragi-sa-'
'Go drown yourself in a lake!' Amaya spat, leaving the shell-shocked teacher to stare at her disappearing back as he numbly answered his phone.
---=[Authors Note]=---
Haha yeah, another update. And this one is probably much longer than a lot of my others. 5,538 words not including this authors note, haaa. I'm tired xD
I wanted to get this chapter done in length because I think it's kinda important, in a weird way, haha. I hope it didn't surprise you too much, or if it did, then I hope it was in a good way, not a bad, poorly written way xD
Hope y'all enjoyed, and now I'm off to repair the backspace on my keyboard (My laptop keyboard is literally falling apart on me T^T)
Anyways, chapter translation notes here (If I've missed any, then please lemme know so I can add them)
Gekido - Translates as Fury (Emotional Fury, not the violent super-strength kind of fury) written as 激怒 in Japanese
