The dolphin takes on the shark. Two powerful sea creatures will fight to survive in a battle in the seas and only one will get out alive.

Mario: Ecco the Dolphin, the sea saving bottlenose dolphin.

Mega Man: And Jaws, the human-eating great white shark.

Sonic: The ocean is filled with normal sea creatures but these two are anything but normal.

Mega Man: Time to find out which one will sink into the bottom of the ocean. Their Mario and Sonic and I'm Mega Man.

Mario: And it's our job to analyze their weapons armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Quick heads up: While the original games and novels and movies are our primary source for our analysis the Defender of the Future and Jaws video games will be used as supporting evidence despite being non canon.

Ecco the Dolphin

Mario: In the deep blue seas lived a sea animal who will protect the seas and all it's creatures from out world threats. A animal who will help those in need. This animal's name was Ecco the Dolphin.

Sonic: Wow everyone loves dolphins a lot but I don't think any of them would realize that one of them is capable of saving the world.

Mega Man: Yeah it's very crazy how a dolphin can save the day.

Mario: Ecco was having a perfect time being a normal bottlenose dolphin with his pod.

Sonic: One day the dolphins did dolphin stuff like jumping out of the water. Aww cute.

Mega Man: One of Ecco's friends asked him how high he can jump and he jumped so high into the sky when suddenly a storm and a tornado appeared and sucked up literally everything but him. Damn not even a minute into this and we're already getting into the dark stuff. But I guess if you're a protagonist something bad is bond to happen to you.

Mario: Feeling lonely and confused, Ecco set out on  journey to find out what happened to his friends and save them.

Sonic: Man poor guy. But luckily he has some different abilities along the way. Like his classic Dash Attack which is kinda like my Spin Dash but he bams his beak into opposites.

Mega Man: He's super fast with that one I would not want to be on the edge of that beak.

Mario: Ecco can turn himself invincible, locate people with echolocation, and use Sonar to either stun, or confuse foes, and unlike normal dolphins who need to surface for air he can breath underwater.

Sonic: Well I'm completely jealous of that.

Mega Man: He can even transform into other animals like sharks, fish, birds and more.

Mario: However the sonar doesn't work on great white sharks.

Sonic: Which really sucks for Ecco if he wants to defend his friends and sonar doesn't work on a great white.

Mega Man: Eh but who cares when you can increase it to fire laser beams from the head in the shape of stars plus he turn invisible, pulls his transformations have unique abilities such as flying and the aliens even use poison. And speak of the stars look at them on his head.

Quick heads up: While Ecco has been shown to Time Travel, this requires a time machine to use this ability therefore Ecco cannot time travel on his own.

Mario: Actually those "stars" on Ecco's head are actually scars he got from a shark attack. Long story short, Ecco was born to Elisia his mother and Darana his father.

Sonic: They did seem like a very happy family even though we don't know where the dad is.

Mega Man: But we all know how the story goes. One day Ecco and his mom were exploring until a shark came bye and attacked him, and killed his mom in the process who sacrificed herself to save poor Ecco. Leaving Ecco scared. Damn I feel bad for the guy. No wonder he hates sharks.

Mario: The backstory is confirmed canon by the creator just to let you all know. Also while this hasn't been confirmed this loss is probably the reason why Ecco wanted to protect his friends and other sea creatures from all kinds threats so that they won't suffer the same tragedy he experienced.

Sonic: Remember that Vortex Queen? He beat her he even broke her bottom jaw off. And saved his pod in the process. He's battled and beaten, aliens, sharks, squids and many more.

Mega Man: The dolphin's also fast enough to swim across the ocean. All thanks to the ring things in the second game. Or whatever their called.

Mario: While it is difficult to determine if this a legitimate feat it is safe to say that Ecco is pretty fast.

Sonic: Goddamn. The fastest dolphin called the short-beaked common dolphin couldn't even do that and yet Ecco

Mega Man: Oh ho that's not even half of what he can do, Ecco can dodge a bolt of lightning and even a light speed beam!

Mario: Ecco also pushed this big pink ball in comparison to Ecco's height must way around 190 tons.

Sonic: He's survived multiple storms, and even electric based attacks that only pissed him off. He survived all waters including the arctic weather something a normal dolphin couldn't possibly do.

Mega Man: Hell he's smart enough to read Atlantean! Wow this dolphin can pretty much outsmart you and you won't even noticed.

Mario: Ecco does have some downfalls though he does often need assistance from other animals but none the less he's an incredible hero.

Sonic: Yeah the dolphin definitely has what it takes to save the world.

Mega Man: Everyone loves dolphins so it would shock everyone if their favorite animal is a superhero.

Mario: With Ecco up for the task. The all living creatures can rest easy knowing that their defended by such a heroic dolphin.

Jaws

Mario: On the Amity Island a fictional island located off the coast of New England, opened to a series of shark attacks but this particularly shark is not like any other shark. This is Jaws.

Sonic: The Jaws sharks are terrifying, they are about 20+ feet tall and those eyes are creepy like ghost.

Mega Man: Yikes no wonder people are afraid of this guy so bad I would be too if that thing was the last thing I saw.

Mario: Jaws would travel to the beach and terrorize anything in it's path especially humans.

Sonic: Damn no wonder why people are scared of sharks in real life I mean if a fictional shark can scar people in fantasy they can scare them in reality.

Mega Man: Damn straight mate.

Mario: Well despite what the novel and movies have shown normal great white sharks are actually usually 10 to 15 feet tall, usually eats fish and small mammals, and they don't attack humans unless their provoked, mistake you for another animal, or if their curious and want to know what you are, and even then they don't attack humans as often as people think.

Sonic: Oh. I get it. But this shark is not like the other guys and decided to have humans on a daily basis.

Mega Man: If he's not hungry for human blood he can chop up giant squids blue whales and even orcas. I don't know how an orca lost to something that they literally eat but hey Jaws got to kick his ass.

Mario: So much for being the dominant species of the ocean.

Sonic: Yeah this shark has tons of abilities needed to take out it's prey.

Mega Man: He can do a spin roll, track down prey with Predator Vision.

Mario: Jaws can also gain brief abilities from eating jellyfish.

Sonic: Red increases strength and fleeting abilities, blue increases stealth, and green slows down time for a bit.

Mega Man: But Jaws brad and butter is his super strength like the dude can rip apart boats twice his size.

Mario: The Shark is so dangerous that the humans decided to form a team to kill it.

Sonic: Yeah long story short a young woman named Chrissie Watkins decided to going swimming naked at night (word of advice don't do that cause that's when sharks hunt) and then the shark attacked her and killed her and devoured her whole but her hands were on shore and discovered by the police and after a couple more attacks on swimmers a team with Martin Brody, Matt Hooper, and Sam Quint decided to hunt and kill the shark and they did. By blowing his head off avenging all the swimmers who were eaten.

Mega Man: Yeah.... But turns out that despite having his head blown off Jaws somehow came back to life and was causing terror all over again. How I don't know.

Mario: Actually it's more complicated than that it's actually a family of Jaws.

Mario: Yeah... Okay so there's actually at least 4 sharks in the film series. The first one named Bruce who died in the first film but despite that other sharks in the family continued the rampage in his place like Brucette who is Bruce's mate, next is Brucetta who is the largest shark out of all of them, and finally Vengeance who is the son of Bruce and Brucette and was born moments as his mother is being electrocuted to death and is also the father of Brucetta. All of these sharks have a concept of revenge because if you kill one shark another one will come back for revenge, like a Baby Shark who is Brucetta's son and they apparently sense each other's death.

Quick heads up: Each shark has their own goals for attacking. Bruce is to basically wreak havoc on the island, same with Brucette though it's implied she wants revenge for what happened to Bruce, Brucetta wants revenge for the death of her baby shark and Vengeance wants revenge for the deaths of his entire family.

Sonic: Seriously? A family of sharks? Also sense when do sharks have a concept of revenge? I'm a bit confused here.

Mega Man: Man it's scary to think that Jaws is actually an entire family, Hell they even eat other sharks like their own kind like dude WTF?!

Mario: That's another big difference between normal great whites and Jaws, whereas great whites only attack when their hungry or curious (deepening in the circumstances) Jaws often attacks and eats everything they literally see on sight not caring who or what it is, aside from giant squids, killer whales, they've killed and eaten giant crocodiles, sperm whales, hammerhead sharks, and is willing to tear down any boat and house if it means getting to the prey.

Sonic: And if one of them dies they come back again to cause terror on the humans for killing their family members despite them attacking humans first. Jesus Christ these things are monsters.

Mega Man: For real like I don't think their even real sharks. And how do they keep coming back. A bomb that blew up Bruce's head, electricity literally fried Brucette, grenade exploded Brucetta, or Vengeance getting impaled by a boat and then blown to bits, Jaws was always reborn unable to stay dead.

Mario: Yeah. But on to the important stuff while all the sharks are not the same person technically they should all be comparable to one another.

Sonic: Jaws can dodge gun fire, missiles Vengeance once swam fast enough to travel across the country to track down Brody's family. Oh and he's brought buildings in the water and tanked explosions.

Mega Man: He's outsmarted many sea life before he's tossed around a blue whale which is the largest animal on the planet, and even beat a much more larger Jaws with the help from humans. I don't know why Jaws is teaming up with the very species he's attacking but hey he still won regardless of it.

Mario: But Jaws has some downsides despite the intelligence the entire Jaws family has been outsmarted and killed from inside and outside before, and because of it's violent nature means their not thinking as much.

Sonic: And like all villains about their goals Jaws was doomed to failed as they've died multiplies again and thank God there is no other Jaws movie and without that everyone is safe to go back in the water once again.

Mega Man: It's Jaws guys they'll be back watch them remake the movie somehow they'll bring them back and once that happens there's no turning back no one's gonna help you and once they grab you, you are their meal. As long as this monstrous shark is around it will turn everyone's nice day at the beach into a horrible and disastrous nightmare.

Martin Brady: You're gonna need a bigger boat.

Verdict

Mario: Alright the combatants are set.

Sonic: And we've run the data on all possibilities.

Mega Man: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!!!!!!

Predator vs Prey

On the coast of New Jersey in modern day summer time there is a couple both at the same age (in their early 20s) is seen running through trees until they arrive at a nearby beach.

Man: Is this the place?

Woman: Yep this is the place.

Man: So what now?

Woman: Now we just have to take all of our clothes off and go skinny dipping.

Man: Wait really?

Woman: (Starts taking off her clothes) Oh come on we've done this before, we've been naked and had sex outdoors lots of times and we haven't been caught besides. There's a public beach that is several miles from here so no one can see us. So don't worry babe, we're fine.

Man: Hmmm alright let's do it.

Woman: Yep that's the spirit.

3 minutes later the couple started kissing in the ocean naked with their camera on land recording the whole thing a mysterious figure approaches them from a far. The two were giggling and kissing the man notices the figure.

Man: SHARK?!

The woman is confused when her boyfriend said this.

Woman: What's the matter?

Man: SHARK!

The woman looks and the two see that the figure is none other than Jaws swimming towards them.

They both scream and swim for shore but Jaws is catching up to them.

Woman: Oh shit! HELP!

Before Jaws can eat them another figure comes out of nowhere and grabs the couple and brings them to shore. The naked couple sighs in relief and they look and see that their savior was none other than Ecco the Dolphin. Ecco jumps back underwater to confront Jaws as the two sea creatures stare each other down. With the couple watching while

Ecco and Jaws then charge at each other but Ecco starts landing hits on Jaws with some Dash Attacks which annoyed Jaws to no end so he uses his Tail Whack to knock Ecco away from him. The bottlenose dolphin recovers and swims away from the great white shark as Ecco jumps out of the water and uses his Sonar Singing on Jaws who also jumps out of the water is unaffected by the dolphin's attack and attempts to big him but he transforms into a Seagull at the last second and flies higher causing Jaws to fall back into the ocean.

Ecco transforms back to normal and dives in the ocean where the shark attempts to make several bites attempts at his prey but Ecco dodges and transforms into a jellyfish to stun him many times over, the dolphin transforms back to normal but is attacked when Jaws grabs him by the tail however Ecco is unaffected as he uses his invincibility to shield himself from harm and continues to hit the shark. Ecco uses the Power of Vigour and dashes at Jaws and hits him in the stomach so hard and knocks him a way.

Jaws spots a public beach of people and swims at high speeds, temporarily forgetting about his opponent as sounds of screams from people can be heard while Ecco's invincibility wears off and the dolphin turns around as swimmers swim away from the large shark. Realizing that he has been forgotten, let's put a dolphin shout to get Jaws's attention.

Ecco, not wanting any of the humans to get hurt, killed, or eaten charges toward Jaws, who quickly throws a ball at the dolphin but Ecco uses his tail to whack it back at Jaws and hits him in the eye leaving him briefly stunned but recovers as the shark continues his battle with Ecco who uses several Dash Attacks while Jaws dodges and hits him with a roll.

Thanks to Ecco keeping Jaws at bay all the swimmers were able to get back to the beach out of the water safe and sound and unharmed as they all watched the battle between Ecco and Jaws. The monster shark grabs Ecco by the tail this time hurting the dolphin and attempts to bite into him but Ecco transforms into a shark of Jaws's size causing the real Jaws to back off much to everyone surprise.

The two Jaws then bite each other one at a time and but heads however the Jaws on the right gets the upper hand and grabs the Jaws on the left by the tail and drags him far away from the beach and dives straight underwater until they reach a Coral Reef nearby a sunken ship and throws the other Jaws at the ship. The Jaws that grabbed the other Jaws was eventually revealed to be Ecco when he transforms back to normal.

Ecco starts shooting laser beams from his stars forcing Jaws to dodge the attacks. While doing so Jaws spots a red jellyfish, the shark eats it and his power increases and he begins to charge at Ecco while eating another green jellyfish along the way slowing down time and preventing Ecco from escaping who is moving slowly due to the time manipulation technique.

Jaws takes this opportunity to grab Ecco and drag him around like a Ragdoll and is about to eat him but it's revealed that Ecco uses his invincibility technique again and is unharmed by the attack once again as the power wears off Ecco swims towards the sunken ship promoting Jaws to give chase eventually the dolphin disappears inside the ship as Jaws follows. The rogue great white looks around for his prey but couldn't seem to find him any where.

Suddenly Ecco reveals himself thanks to his Power of Stealth by attacking Jaws from all sides, the shark fights back with a tail smack as Ecco's invisibility wears off. Ecco than swims circles around the shark trapping him in a whirlpool like tornado. The savior of the seas swims under his predator and uses his Dash Attack and sends the terror of the seas flying out of the ship and straight out of the ocean at least 20 feet in the air. Jaws was so high everyone can see him including the couple Ecco saved earlier and the people at the beach as everyone takes out their phones and records the whole thing.

Ecco swims high up at maximum speeds and jumps out the water towards Jaws's location and starts using a series of dash attacks in the air doing some serious damage with a furry of blows, before coming down for the coup de grace while charging up his stars preparing for another laser. Recovering as Ecco gets closer, Jaws opens his mouth wide open attempting to eat the dolphin, he succeeds but the sharks victory was short lived as a laser beam impales Jaws from the top and cuts clean through the shark's neck as Ecco emerges from inside Jaws leaving Jaws shocked. Jaws's head is completely severed from the body causing massive amounts of blood to spill from the now dead man-eating shark.

Ecco lands back in the water victorious as Jaws's remains sink into the ocean. Ecco briefly does a tailwalk causing everyone to cheer. He then goes back to the couple he saved at the beginning of the fight who thank the dolphin for saving them from the shark.

Woman: Thank you so much for saving us.

Man: Yeah thanks we really appreciate it.

Ecco chirps as he jumps back into the sea and swims away. Ecco jumps out of the water one last time as the camera frame stops and we see Ecco smiling.

KO!

Results

Mega Man: People have seen dolphins beating sharks before but never to this level or brutality.

Sonic: Yeah for real though.

Mario: This was an incredibly interesting match because at their peak both Ecco and Jaws have performed many feats and abilities that a normal animal couldn't even dream of doing.

Mega Man: Ecco's Echolocation and Jaws's Predator Vision do pretty much counter each other in this very way since they both basically work the same way just in different uses. And with the Colored Jellyfish definitely did help him in some places like briefly slowing down time or whatever.

Sonic: On top of that being a great white shark, most of Ecco's sonar won't work on Jaws here.

Mario: But to truly discuss the outcome is by looking at their base abilities and feats.

Mega Man: As far as strength goes Jaws definitely has the edge.

Sonic: Yeah Ecco can push a large ball that weighs about 190 tons but Jaws yielded a blue whale.

Mario: In comparison to size the blue whale at its highest weighs around 200 tons. Making him 10 times stronger than Ecco.

Mega Man: But Ecco has beaten foes stronger than him before and is definitely a lot faster.

Sonic: Yeah the dolphin dodging lightning and laser beams is WAY faster than the shark dodging bullets or missiles.

Quick heads up: As far as travel speed goes even if we consider Ecco swimming across the entire world and Vengeance swimming across half the country legitimate feats Ecco would be MUCH faster meaning Ecco could easily keep his distance from Jaws.

Mario: And while most of his Sonar powers are usually Ecco still has much abilities up his sleeve.

Mega Man: Like how he can make himself invincible in many different ways and is more agile.

Sonic: Plus he can turn himself invisible so Jaws won't see him making better at stealth than Jaws.

Mario: On top did that Ecco has been through think and thin as he's survived the vacuum of space, deepest depths of the ocean, Hell he traveled across the world and survived multiple ocean environments like the arctic, and electricity attacks before something that has killed Jaws before.

Mega Man: Yeah no wonder way Jaws couldn't get a bite in because Ecco was just too tough.

Sonic: Now let's compare intelligence, both are brilliant intelligent sea animals who have outsmarted many sea creature before, Ecco's outsmarted aliens before, Jaws was a brilliant intelligent shake but is nowhere near close to an alien's level.

Mario: It's also important to address that while Ecco has been violent before he's only that way when the lives of his friends and sea creatures are on the line giving him a reason to protect them. Jaws is basically a killing machine that is violent thanks to pure instant and just attacks animals and humans just because. It's an entirely different mindset.

Mega Man: Yeah with this difference of intelligence there's no doubt Ecco can overpower Jaws. Like he can fire an instant death laser beam from his head and one shot him. And with his transformation abilities he can transform into a seagull and fly away, turn into a shark and fool Jaws, poison him as Vortex or turn into a jellyfish and  go inside Jaws's body and kill him from the inside and out.

Sonic: Jaws may be tough to kill mostly on the outside but they have been outsmarted and killed by humans on the inside which lead to several sharks getting blown up and so on. Might've really screwed yourself right there huh Jaws family.

Mario: Jaws was a nightmarish predator, but Ecco's greater speed, more versatile arsenal, and massively levels of intelligence gave the dolphin the means to take down the shark for good.

Mega Man: Ecco Jaws the opportunity needed to take the win and the shark didn't sea it coming.

Sonic: Yeah from the shark Ecco won this in a splash.

Mario: The winner is Ecco the Dolphin.
