A guy walked on stage with a nervous look on his face. He puts the microphone up to his mouth and begins to talk.
"I hate to be the giver of bad news, but unfortunately Mario is unable to come to the show," the crowd erupts into an explosion of complaints, "he is sick and we all should pray for him to get better." Everyone believes this but you know better. He is not sick. This is my fault. You think to yourself.
"Excuse me," you say, trying to get through the crowd. You push your way. Some girls giving you glares. You kept pushing until you were almost backstage.
"Miss, you can't go back there. No supporters are allowed back there," says a security guard, stopping you from going backstage. "Please let me go, I need to get back there," you say to him.
"Yeah, you and all these other girls," he says gesturing towards the crowd.
"Hey, she's with me," you heard a familiar voice say.
"Are you sure?" Asks the security guard with suspicion.
"Yes, I'm sure," says the guy. He grabs your arm and leads you backstage. He continues until you are around the corner.
"What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here," He says.
"First of all, ow!!" You saying clutching onto your arm, "and second of all, you know I miss him, Geo, I didn't mean to hurt him like that."
"But you did," he says.
The twins, Jonas, and Cat come around a corner. "What's going on?" Asks Jonas. "What she doing here?" Asks Jovani. "It's a little too late to say sorry," says Julian. All the guys thought you broke Mario's heart on purpose.
"Doesn't matter. We got a show to do," Geo says, "and Y/N. I think it's best for everyone, especially Mario, if you just leave. Don't hurt him anymore than you already have." All the guys nod their heads and leave to go on stage.
Once they leave Cat walks towards you. "You got my messages," she exclaims.
"I did," you reply. "It's been getting worse, the bad thoughts I mean. All day he cries and mopes around. Sometimes at night he will talk about you in his sleep. Normally it's about him missing you and not understanding why you left, but last night he was mumbling about not being able to live without you and if your not in his life, his life is not worth living."
You are shocked and scared. What if he does something bad? What if he- you can't even finish the thought. Cat removes you from your train of thought.
"Y/N, he's all by himself in the hotel room. I wanted to stay but he insisted that I go for the supporters. I tried telling him that everything is going to be okay, but he won't listen to me. He might do something really bad to himself," Cat says quickly. At this point you were ready to go find him, even though you don't know where he is. You start walking away, fast.
"Wait, Y/N," says Cat. She walks over to a table and starts to write something on a piece of paper. She hands it to you.
"This is where the hotel is," she says, slowly walking away, "don't let him hurt himself," she finishes, running around the corner to join the boys.
You look at the paper. You knew this hotel, you saw it on the ride over here. You made your way over to the front entrance. It was raining outside, and you weren't dressed for that, but you had to go anyways.
You go outside and it's pouring. You look both directions, and started heading towards the hotel. The thought of Mario hurting himself in any way, motivated you to go faster. You were now running in the rain. People gave you weird looks, as they could not understand why anyone would be running in this type of weather.
You make it to hotel, and walk into the lobby. The desk lady glared at you as you were dripping water all over the carpet, but you didn't care. You look back at the paper. Room #819
You turn your head to the direction of the elevator as about 10 people got on it, leaving no space for you. Instead you turn to the stairs and start climbing them. Eight floors were a lot, but the sooner you got upstairs the sooner you could check on Mario.
Walking down the hallway, your nerves started getting the best of you. What if he doesn't want to see me?
"809, 810, 811," you say as you make your way down to his room.
You walk up to a door, labeled "819". You hesitate for a second, thinking about everything. You lightly knock on the door. You wait for a few seconds before you knock again, a little louder. Footsteps make their way towards the door. The handle turns, and the door opens. And standing at the door was the boy you cared so much about. The one that made you feel like how you've never felt before. The one who could cheer you up when you were feeling down. The one that you left because you were scared of your own feelings towards him.
"Y/N?" Asks Mario. He looked terrible. His eyes were red, probably because he was crying. And he looked tired. Cat had mentioned that he was having trouble sleeping.
"Mario," you say, not sure what to do. He takes a good look at you.
"What happened to you?" He asks, referring to your hair and clothes which were still dripping wet. "Cat told me about what's been happening since I left. And when I went to go see the show, you weren't there. And Cat told me about the bad thoughts. I couldn't just leave. I had to make sure you were okay," you say in one big breath.
"Come inside," he says letting you in. You walk inside, while he walks into the bathroom. He comes back out with a towel. He wraps it around you, and sits down on the bed and pats next to him. You sit down. After a couple seconds of silence, you couldn't take it anymore. You wrap your arms around him and hug him. He seems a little shocked at first but hugs you back after a second or two. You felt warm and safe.
"I'm sorry that I left. I never meant to hurt you," you say into his chest. "Why did you leave?" He asks, sounding like he was about to cry. "You told me that you loved me, and I freaked out. It's just that we are so young, and you were so sure. I never felt this way about anyone before, and it scared me. How can you be so sure that you love me?" You wait a couple seconds for him to respond. He pulls away from the hug and looks you in the eyes.
"Because I care about you so much. I know for certain that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to take care of you for the rest of my life, and grow old together. I can't imagine being with anyone else other than you," he grabs hold of your hand, "I love you, Y/N." He waits for you to respond. When you don't, he lets go of your hand and looks down at his lap.
You take a deep breath.
"Mario?" He looks up at you. "If that's what 'I love you' means, then I love you too," you say smiling. His face lights up. He pulls you closer to him and kisses you. You wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him back. You both hug after you pull away from the kiss.
"I'm never leaving," you say.
"And I'm never letting go," Mario says.
