The tears in my eyes made it hard for me to see. Mario stood up from the bed. "I'm sorry Y/N, I can't be with you anymore," he says. I could see the tears forming in his eyes. My house had never been more silent. The only other sounds came from the rain outside. "Why are you doing this?" I ask him, quietly. "I gotta go," he says, exiting my room. I get up quickly and follow him.
"Mario, don't go," I cry out to him. He goes downstairs. "Just let me go
Y/N," he says. I catch up to him and grab his wrist. I stand in front of him and look up at his face. I take the sides of his face in my hands, gently. I could see the sorrow and sadness in his eyes. He wraps his arms around my waist, instinctively. I lean in and kiss him. He kisses back, but pulls away after a few seconds. "I'm sorry, I can't do this. It will just make it hurt more for you when I leave," he says. He removes his hands from my waist and walks into the kitchen, grabbing his car keys and his jacket.
I just stand there in shock for a second. I can't believe this is happening. Mario gets to the front door and opens it. The rain was pouring outside behind him. He turns to look at me. "Goodbye, Y/N," he says, and walks out the door, closing it behind him. I run to the door and open it, following him outside.
He walked over to his car. "You can't leave me!" I yell out to him. The tears streaming down my face. He pauses for a second then unlocks his car. I run from out of the coverage of my porch, into the rain. "Please, don't leave me," I say, he opens his car door, "you can't leave me, not like this."
He turns to look at me. He takes his jacket and wraps it around me. Putting the hood on so I don't get wet from the rain. He pulls me in for a hug. I wrap my arms around tightly. I stop crying for a second. He pulls away and looks at my face. He kisses me. He rests his forehead on mine. "I just needed one last kiss," he whispered. He kissed my forehead and got in his car.
"Mario, no," I cry. I look through the windshield and see Mario taking one last look at me before backing out of my driveway. I try to cry but nothing comes out. He starts driving down the street. I run down my driveway, and watch him drive off into the distance.
I slowly walk up my driveway and onto my porch. I get to the door and step inside. I close the door and lean against it. Reality starts to set in. The tears just pour out of my eyes, as I slide down the door. I reach the floor and hugged my legs. The reality is that Mario is gone, and there's nothing I can do about it. I continue to cry as I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces.
"Y/N," I hear Mario say. "Y/N, wake up," I hear him say. I open my eyes and he's leaning over me. My eyes blurry from crying. It was only a dream. A bad dream.
I sit up. I remembered that I was watching a movie with Mario in my room. I must have fallen asleep. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Yeah," I nod my head, "I just had a bad dream. That's all," I say. He pulls me onto his lap and starts playing with my hair. "What happened in your dream?" He asked.
"You left me," I whisper and look down. He stops playing with my hair and lifts up my chin so that I was looking at him. "Hey, that's not going to happen. I'm not going to leave you," he says. I look into his eyes and I can see the sincerity in them. He truly meant what he was saying.
I lean in and kiss him. He wraps his arms around my waist and I wrap my legs around his. We both pulled away. He kisses my forehead like in my dream. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me into a hug. I bury my face into his chest. I turn my head to the side so I can speak. "Mario?" I ask. "Yes," he breathes out near my ear causing a chill to go down my spine.
"Don't ever let go," I say. "I won't," he says. He was here, and as long as I'm with him, I'm happy.
