Chapter 21

The Kingdom's warriors did a final scout of the area before we were allowed out of the cove. Caspian insisted I stayed glued to his side and Bennett was being carried by Leo. The Kingdom was told of our arrival today and security went up tenfold. I was scheduled to meet Caspian's parents aka, the King and Queen. Nervous was an understatement. I was worried they would think I wasn't enough for their son. I'm not strong nor am I highly intelligent I don't know what I could offer the Kingdom, most likely every Mer person was stronger than me, and sea smart you could say. I still had so much to learn.

Mizuko was shouting orders and the other warriors/guards surrounded us for protection. Dune was looking around with wide eyes braiding a section of his long hair. Everyone else had changed into their Mer forms but Dune was still in human.

"He gets nervous Kitten; Mizuko was the only one who could touch him at first." Caspian whispered to me.

"How come?" I asked as I watched Dune swim over to Mizuko and hold onto his arm tightly.

"I don't know exactly, Mizuko didn't want to tell us much."

"Prince Caspian, we are ready when you are." Mikuzo called out stopping our conversation about his mate and bowed his head respectfully, Dune now clamped to his waist.

"We are ready, the Kingdom has been informed and security is on high alert. You know what to do if something goes wrong." Caspian said looking over each one of the warriors.

"Yes, Sir," They repeated.

Outside the cove looked different during the day. The coral was dark and not like shallow water coral, and they didn't glow when you hovered over them which was disappointing.

"Kitten, you ready?"

"Yeah," I replied turning away the coral. "I can't wait to see your Kingdom."

"Ours, Kitten," He smiled.

I would never grow tired of this. The water pushing your hair back like the wind as you flew through the sky. All the beautiful fish and plants whizzed by in a blur. We swam over a deep, dark ravine and I could only imagine the different species living down there. Caspian held me tight and pointed out things I might like to see. This time in the Atlantic Ocean, loads of animals migrate here to mate, find more food or for the sunlight, so we were lucky enough to be able to swim by a pod of Humpback whales. I wanted to stay and watch them so badly but Caspian said we could see them another time. I pouted but complied as we swam on further. The whales sang as we passed by them making me try and pull Caspian back but he just chuckled and said not now.

Bennett would love to see this I thought, lying on Caspian's back. When he gets better I will take him out here definitely. I turned over so Caspian and I were back to back and I could see everything above me. It was so relaxing watching everything pass by. The sun shone above the water giving everything below a much more magical feel. The lack of sleep in the last few days caught up on me in that moment and my eyes were closing and sleep was starting to set in.

---

"Here it is," Caspian said gently shaking me awake from where I was lying on his back.

"Wha...?" I mumbled blinking away the sleepy state I was in.

"Look, Kitten," Caspian said holding me in front of him.

"It's just kelp?" I said confused.

"Go through it," He encouraged giving my bum a pat as a cue to move forward.

I swam forward a little and looked left and right. The forest of kelp went on as far as the eye could see. I couldn't see the bottom of the sea floor but the kelp kept going, disappearing into the dark blue water. I looked back at Caspian for reassurance and he nodded smiling. Stretching my hands out I pushed the kelp apart then swam through. I could see light just ahead of me and slowly I parted the slimy plant and my heart stopped at what I saw. My mouth was agape, heart in my throat and my breathing stopped.

A huge palace, with towers of white, gold and mint green, so many crystals stuck to the outside of the palace and a golden glow of light coming from the windows and illuminating the Kingdom around me. The palace was in the centre of hundreds of different caves, just like the healing one we stayed at. They were in an oval shape built into the rock and had seaweed and kelp doors, some that were closed and others that were open, allowing mermaids and mermen alike to swim out or in. Schools of fish swam past me and this place was so huge there were even a pod of dolphins I could see ahead of me.

Caspian came up behind me wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my cheek.

"Do you like it Kitten?" He asks excitedly.

"I...It's...so, so beautiful," I breathed turning a full circle taking everything in.

"It's your home now." Caspian said studying my face for any negative reactions.

I nodded smiling brightly before lunging at Caspian and wrapping my legs and arms around his muscular body.

"Let me take you inside before the whole Kingdom gets out here." Caspian smiled, taking my hand and swimming closer to the palace.

It reminds me of something that would be in India. The rich colours and orange lights seeping into the water all around. The closer we got I could see the definite colour scheme. Mint green, dark green, white and two different types of gold made up this magical palace. Everything looked so royal with the sparkling crystals and towers engraved with Mer people and the marine life around them. Detailing of big and small shells alongside the crystals gave the Kingdom a powerful and connected feel with the Ocean. Embracing what they are, and working to make their Kingdom look the best and certainty gain the most enchanting look to the palace. It was the centre piece in a room, gaining your full attention, there was always a new bit to look at, or new engravement to only imagine the history behind it being there.

A loud horn sounded making me jump into Caspian for protection.

"That was signalling our arrival. So much for getting you in unnoticed," He chuckled. "We will swim through the market place." He instructed.

Leo swam alongside us with Bennett wrapped in a seaweed blanket tucked into his chest so nobody could see his face. He will be better as soon as we get him to their version of a hospital. Dune said he has fantastic doctors who have dealt with injured humans before and they will know what they're doing. Leo's eyes were still a deep blue opposed to the happy violet they usually are when he's with Bennett.

We were swimming around the side of the palace when I started to hear excited whispers. My nerves spiked and Caspian held his firm grip to my waist as we turned the corner of what I suppose is the market place. So many Merpeople were lined on both sides of the street, all crowded together with excited smiles on their faces. As soon as they saw us they all went up in cheers, claps, whistles and shouts throwing flowers to us as we passed by. Caspian looked so proud he was practically glowing waving at everyone we passed all cheering for us. There were so many cute market stalls selling lots of the same things you would find in one on land. Food, clothes, jewellery small trinkets for your house, they looked like they had everything!

My eyes scanned everyone, taking in their faces and tails that were all different colours and different shapes. The Merpeople clapped their hands wildly waving at all of us frantically. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face as we swam through, waving back at everyone. Up ahead, the palace guards were stood opposite each other in a line with all the swords in the air making a canopy to swim under. They wore gold, white and mint green chest plates with pictures of Mermen on, following the colour scheme of the beautiful palace.

The huge doors were blocked by two gold tridents crossed over each other. A god like Merman and Mermaid dispensing a powerful aurora were engraved into the doors and both were wearing a crown. I could only imagine these were Caspian's parents. The cheering behind us was continuing as the two tridents moved to the side and allowed the doors to swing open. Caspian led me inside before turning around and giving one last wave to the crowd as the doors shut.

"Whoa..." I gasped collapsing into Caspian's chest.

"It must be a lot. You acted very well Kitten, I'm proud of you." He told me, holding my face in his hands.

I smiled back and we pressed our lips together lovingly.

Someone cleared their throat and we broke apart turning in the direction of the sound.

"Princes," The man bowed. He looked to be in his late fifties and his hair was grey. "The King and Queen have requested to see you right away."

"Thanks Roan, we will be right there."

"The dress maker would like to see your mate first if that's okay?"

"We will stop there first then." Caspian said, taking my hand and pulling me towards where I suppose the dress maker is.

I did need to look a bit more presentable as I was still wearing my blue swimming trunks I've had on since we left my house. I mentally sighed, thinking about my life back on land. I was missing it lots but I was hoping everything would settle down soon enough and it would sink in that down here is my home.

The detailing inside and out on this palace is astounding. Gold pillars and that beautiful mint green colour, complete with engravements of Mer people in their underwater world. I didn't have enough time to get a good look at the walls around me as Caspian was carring me and he swam pretty fast, but I will look closer when I get the chance.

We approached a large gold door that had pictures Mermen and Mermaids draped beautifully in all types of shells, jewels and cloth. Caspian knocked twice before the doors opened, revealing a huge room. My mouth fell open as I looked around me at the finest clothes and dazzling diamonds all hung up around the room or placed in the groves in the walls.

I heard someone giggle and turned around to see a young, slim man with bright red hair. He bowed smiling at both of us before swimming over and cupping my face.

"He is beautiful, Caspian! Truly beautiful, imagine you in my gold cloth, complete with diamonds and crystals all the light catching at once, illuminating you in a room full of Mers! Star of the show, capturing everyone's attention." He gasped spinning around in a circle. Who is this funny man?

Caspian laughed at my face and the funny man stopped what he was saying and smiled softly at me.

"My name is Tamesis, Prince Jonah. I am so happy to have finally met you and now be designing for you! You are human and that is wonderful! So many new things to create and fit," He said running his hands through his bright red hair and pumping his blue tail to one of the higher up groves that had gold cloth coming out of it.

"Tamesis, brilliant dress maker but speaks anything and everything going through his head. He loves his job, as you can probably see." Caspian winked kissing my forehead.

"Yeah," I giggled. "I can." We watched this crazy Merman grab multiple boxes and lots of fabric before he swam to us and excitedly staring taking my measurements.

"I pre-made so many things Prince Jonah but I have a new piece I want to make for you." Tamesis gushed, pulling out beautiful sea shells of different colours onto a table made out of rock. He got to work quickly threading bits of cloth together and stitching on small shells and little crystals. I looked around his dress making room whilst he was concentrating and this is my favourite room I am yet to see, by far. Just the natural beauty of the room and added diamonds crated a magical feel to the atmosphere. The whole Kingdom is enchanting but this room really stands out to me. I ran my fingers over the shells on the walls before I heard Caspian calling me.

"Tamesis is done; you need to try it on now." Caspian told me softly the look of pride to have me next to him in his home.

He held out a pair of gold shorts with different sized small shells stuck onto them and even more tiny crystals that added shimmer to the piece.

"Thank you," I gasped taking the material from him. "It's gorgeous!"

"My pleasure Prince, you will look stunning!"

"You can change over there." He said showing me to a dressing screen in the corner.

I swam over and took off my swimming trunks and put on the stunning shorts. They fitted like a glove, hugging my ass and making it look way bigger and rounder. They came down to my mid-thigh but rose up slightly when I moved my legs. They were the comfiest thing I have ever worn and I loved them so much.

"Are you ready Jojo?" Caspian called.

"Yeah," I said swimming out and waiting for their reactions.

Caspian eyes instantly brightened gold and his jaw clenched showing me the signs of his arousal. Tamesis eyes lit up and he clutched his hands to his chest.

"My best work yet. You look amazing, Prince!" He exclaimed grinning madly. "Oh! I have this to finish it off." Tamesis grabbed a collection of necklaces with shells, crystals and pearls thread through them. He swam over to me and hung them around my neck.

"You look beautiful Jonah," Caspian said sincerely pulling me into his arms. I blushed at his words but let him mould our lips together passionately.

"I love you," Caspian said nuzzling his nose with mine.

"I love you too." I replied kissing his lips again.

"AWWW! SO CUTE!" Tamesis squealed somersaulting in the water.

I giggled and Caspian hugged me to his side.

"Thank you for the shorts, Tamesis, I love them."

"Anything you need, I'm the one you can come to Jonah." He nodded smiling.

"Thank you, bye." We said leaving through the large doors.

I felt so good now. I felt like I fitted in and belonged through Tamesis magnificent work. And I needed all the help and guidance I could get.

"Now then, time to meet the King and Queen."
