Marichat May Day 22: Prompt: Sick

(pt 2 of day 21)

Chat Noir dropped into Marinette's room and onto her bed to see her covered with blankets, a cold pack on her forehead and surrounded by a plethora of used napkins. "Holy cats." Marinette groaned in response. "I knew you were sick," Chat continued, "but I didn't think it was this bad. I mean, I can only say one thing."

Marinette weakly lifted her head and did her best to glare at him. "Don't—" she started."

"I told you so," said Chat at the same time.

Marinette's head fell back on her pillow. "Ugh. Just get it out now," she said with a stuffy voice.

Chat scooted closer to her. "You should've listened to me. That's all."

"You're still at fault. You played with me in the rain."

"Guilty."

"Also," she sneezed. "It's completely unfair that you didn't get even a little sick."

"Bless you. And I did get the chills last night. But it went away this morning. Nathalie—er...my...a-aunt...gave me some soup to help remedy it. Speaking of," Chat Noir reached behind him and pulled out a duffel bag. He dug around in it and pulled out a thermos. "I brought you some. Homemade chicken soup."

Marinette sat up. Or, attempted to sit up. She tipped forward and Chat had to rush to catch her. "Thanks, Kitty."

"No purroblem. Geez. You're so hot."

Marinette giggled. "Thanks."

Chat blushed. "I-I didn't mean it like that! I just meant that you're burning up. Fever-wise. How high is it?"

"Last time Maman checked, it was thirty-nine degrees Celsius."

"Thirty-nine— Princess, you need to rest."

"Really? I didn't know that."

Chat Noir helped Marinette sit up and pressed the cold pack to her face. "Ha, ha. You hungry?"

"Very."

Chat put the cold pack down and poured some soup from the thermos into the cup. He handed it to her and she took a sip. "Oh my God," she took another sip. "This...this is delicious. Do you have a fork?"

Chat reached into the duffel bag and pulled one out for her. She took it and stabbed a piece of chicken. "Yeah...I asked my assis—aunt, to teach me how to make it."

"You made this?"

"Well, it was mostly her. I helped a bit. I'm pretty sure I can make it again if I wanted to."

"Chat, this is delicious. Please, please make this again."
"If the princess requests it."

"She does." Marinette sneezed again. "Ugh, this sucks." She reached for a tissue while trying to peek inside the bag. "What else did you bring?"

Chat grinned. "I thought you'd never ask. I brought—" He pulled out DVDs and a portable DVD player. "The Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella, Snow White, Bambi, The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, A Cat in Paris, and Sleeping Beauty. Oh. And I brought that really crappy Ladybug and Chat Noir movie. I figured that we could make fun of it together."

Marinette's eyes widened. "That's...a lot of movies." she laughed and took another sip of soup. "Anything else?"

"I also brought this Chat plushie." Chat Noir held up a black, round plush in the shape of a cat. It had green eyes and a little bell was sewn to the front of it. Surrounding the eyes was a black mask and a plush baton was attached to the back. "See?" He held it up to his face. "It looks just like me!"

Marinette laughed. "It does, doesn't it? Well? What're we watching first?"

"I'm kinda hoping that we could watch A Cat in Paris first."

"A Cat in Paris it is!" Marinette swept the tissues away to one side and motioned for Chat Noir to sit beside her. Once he was settled, she popped the DVD in the player. As the beginning credits showed up, Marinette leaned into his chest. "Hey, Kitty?"

"Hm?"

"Thanks for taking care of me."

Chat Noir hugged Marinette closer to his chest. "Always."
