Day 7 | Switch

Hey, I got a writing thing out on the same day it was required! Awesome :3
~Blaze

Day 7: The object on your left turned into the object on your right. Write 250 words about your reaction.

Objects: pencil on my left, folder on my right.

Switch

I was sitting at my desk. It's a rather small, crowded space. Its covered in folders, books, my laptop. A cute pencil holder made from sequins and construction paper on an old can (probably of beans) is perched at the end of the table. Below it is a pile of books and folders, a mishmash of school projects and writing information.

Now at that moment I was busy working on some chemistry homework. My laptop, a calculator, and a piece of paper were in front of me and I was busy clicking away at my calculator, helplessly trying to solve a particularly challenging problem.

It happened quite suddenly, but as I turned my head to find something in my backpack, I felt something nudging my arm. As in my right arm, which had nothing but a pencil... right? I looked up, and a folder lay where my pencil had, nudging my arm incessantly as it was crushed between my arm and the wall.

I picked it up with some confusion, seeing a pencil on my folder pile where I could have sworn this green folder had previously been. I switched them, carefully fixing the haphazard pile of folders until they sat in a tall, uniform pile. The pencil I placed next to my calculator. Then I looked down at my backpack to find what I had been looking for.

SHWOOP!

I look up, jaw on the ground as my folder was now lying on top of my arm, the pencil balancing dangerously at the edge of my desk. What in the world? As I watched, they shimmered, before suddenly the folder was the pencil and the pencil was the folder. The folder slid to the floor, and it took a few seconds for me to pick it up. Was this magic?

"Hey, bro, come here a second!" I called to my sister. She came to my desk, standing impatiently.

"Yeah?"

"Watch my stuff for a second?" I ducked under the desk, looking at my backpack. A minute passed, two, and finally my sister huffed about me being a waste of time and went to her own room once more.

I stared at them for a while longer myself, but nothing happened. An hour later, still nothing.

I went to bed that night and stared at the ceiling, wondering if it was all a dream, and just as my eyes closed I heard a soft SHWOOP!
