Day 28 | Pet
I caught up!! Oh I'm so pleased. I'm going to do one tomorrow and one the day after, and I'll be finished! Man this was actually pretty fun. See, I write if I try... though I haven't done schoolwork in days because of it

Day 28: Write 500 words about an animal that is taken off the streets, and the first day at its owner's house.

"Come inside little one! You must be hungry." I lifted the little puppy off of the floor and cuddled him in my arms. I know, it probably wasn't the best idea to hug a clearly flea-infested creature, but the poor thing looked ready to drop dead. I needed to do something! While holding him, I noticed just how dirty and matted his fur really was.
"First things first. Bathtime!" I sing-songed. The scrap of fur in my arms wiggled in excitement, and I went to fill up the bath tub with a happy grin.
When I placed him in the water, his first reaction was to scramble desperately towards the side. He looked almost panicked, and I had the feeling that someone had hurt him with water before. With a little sigh I cuddled him against the side of the tub, keeping his head high above the water.
"Hey, it's low enough for you to stand, sweetheart. Come here! Yup! That's it. What a smart boy!" Slowly, he stood in the tub , balancing precariously on his tiny little paws.
We had a great amount of fun in the bath. I spent at least an hour scrubbing him with the shampoo that I used for my own dog. It took three full rinses before his patched yellow fur stopped looking brown. By the time he climbed out of the tub, his body could barely support him.
I picked him up, not caring that he was still very wet, and carried him off to the kitchen. There I poured out a small measure of dog food and left him to eat it. He dug in with vigor, and when he finished I had a hard time saying no to a second serving. When he finished that, he looked like the most satisfied dog in the world.
"Now what do you want to do? You know what, you need a name!" At that second my own dog came barreling around the corner, having smelled his food being used.
One of the most enjoyable moments in my life was this exact second. My huge doberman stood above this adorable scrap of a puppy- it looked like a labrador retriever- and proceeded to sniff and lick him passionately. I was surprised the puppy didn't fall over from the force of the kisses.
"Easy there, Remus. You wolf! Leave the poor puppy alone for a moment! I just rescued the poor thing!" My doberman woofed, giving the puppy one last lick before wandering to his massive bed for a nap. One of the best things to watch is my doberman squeezing his huge frame into his puffy dog bed. I would have to get another one for my new puppy to sleep in.
I lifted the yellow lab up and settled down on my couch, the puppy sitting sleepily on my lap. I began to read as he yawned, curling up for his own nap. As he cuddled into my side, I had a thought.
"I know! I'll name you Nacho! That's a cute name for a cute puppy." He just gave me another yawn, falling into a deep sleep.
