Just one more for this (night) morning! Later today I'll catch up completely. I'm ditching school work for now so this can happen because I want to be able to say that I finished something this month. It's working at least!

Day 21: Write a short story from a person who is undergoing harassment. The character is in pain, but believes that they deserve the treatment.

Fool

She hissed nervously as he walked into the kitchen, veins in his neck popping angrily.

"What did I tell you to do this morning? Hello? WHAT DID I TELL YOU TO DO?"

"Help Bobby with his homework." She whispered.

"I'm sorry?"

"I was supposed to help Bobby with his work." She said. He slammed his hand on the table.

"Yes you were. And what did you do instead?"

She gulped. How was she supposed to tell him that Bobby had asked- no, begged for her to let him play outside just that one time and promised that they would finish his work later? How was she supposed to tell him that the poor boy's asthma had acted up, how she sent him to sleep only for him to come down hours later with confusion written all over his face and pain with every breath. How they had to take him to the hospital because of her idiocy.

She mumbled something too low for him to hear. A large hand clasped her chin and forced it upwards. She let out a loud gasp.

"I asked you a question." He spat.

"I let him go outside."

"And then what happened?" She wrapped an arm around her body, as if to support herself.

"He got an asthma attack."

He snorted angrily.

"You let our asthmatic, allergic son out to play with pollen covering everything outside of the house! You could have killed him!" He lifted her up with his strong hands and shook her slightly. His eyes were wild. She was just happy he hadn't hit her yet, hadn't ever hit her.

"I'm sorry!" She whimpered.

"You will be." He murmured darkly, leading her from the room.
