Day 16 | Tide
Well Rio, you were right. I didn't like the Ode prompt. So I decided to just do another picture prompt. We'll see how that goes XD
Prompt: Write 250 words about a picture
*Picture was found randomly on google, sorry I don't know who to credit.
Tide
She loved the ocean.
This wasn't a fleeting love either, like how some people appreciate the thought of nice things and the next moment the thought is gone. No, she legitimately was obsessed with the ocean. It was absolutely beautiful, and she always had it as a thought on the corner of her mind.
Some of her friends just didn't understand. They questioned her love of everything related to the water- from marine biology to rain to simply how she spent all of her free time at the pier or on a beach.
Growing up in the middle of the country had denied her the obsession. She hadn't even really thought about it. I mean sure, of course she knew it existed. There were pretty pictures all over the internet of beaches and ocean lines. But it wasn't until her family moved a few years ago to a coastal city that she really got to experience a good time at a real beach.
And it was AMAZING.
She spent her first day in her new neighborhood just sitting on the beach, getting to know the people there and getting the best tan of her life while simply staring over the endless expanse of water. She went back the next day, and the day after that just swimming, playing, having fun. And as she made friends, she began to branch out into the one thing she had been dying to try- surfing.
Day one was a wipeout every time. Day two wasn't much better. But where others would have given up she actually stayed, putting more time into surfing then she did sleeping. Soon she was riding the waves better than her friends and she knew that there was nothing else she would rather do with her life.
