People always say
"Don't judge a book by its cover"
And usually I always follow this.
Usually I take my time to discover.

But, every now and then,
I just can't help myself.
When I look at a new book,
I judge it while it's still on the shelf.

That's exactly what I did to you.
But I judged you good.
I thought you'd be a comedy,
But correct me if I misunderstood.

You saw me first.
Your words, they said "hello"
I was so nervous before I saw you,
You really helped me grow.

You're different than other books.
The ones I usually read
Are full of drama queens.
Finally I get to read about noble steeds.

You've been through a lot before me.
I can't tell your edges are worn.
But mine are too because these days, Perfect edges are as rare as unicorns.

Finding a new book,
Is always my favorite thing to do.
You never know what to expect,
I'm so glad my new book is you.
