AUTHOR'S POV

Nia lost consciousness and crashed against Veeransh's back. Just before hitting the ground, she hung safely cradled in his strong arms, securing her waist. Her hands dangled freely in air. To everyone's surprise, he lifted her in a bridal carry and ascended the stairs to his room, his eyes fixed intently on her face.

Family members hurried to his room, but it was too late as the door slammed shut behind them.

"Veer!! Open the door damn it!" Viaan shouted, pounding on it.

"Veeransh, please don't be mad! You've been shot in the chest... For God's sake, open the door!" Sumitra ji implored, tears streaming down her cheeks as Ananya and Agastya supported her on either side.

"Veeransh! You both need to see a doctor immediately... This is your last warning; come out!" Vijay ji shouted in warning tone, out of nervousness.

However, no response came from within. It quickly became clear to them that his room was completely soundproof, as they could neither hear any noise from inside nor be heard from outside. Sensing a looming dread, Viaan panicked, realizing that the door to his room wasn't just any ordinary door, it was made of strong bulletproof material rendering it nearly impossible to break -even with explosives.

Viaan thought of intruding into his room through the balcony which was almost impossible to be crossed because of the cactus plants outside wall to it planted by purpose.

                          . . .

Nia lay unconscious on the bed in her bridal attire, her face glistening with sweat. Her fists were clenched around the bedsheet, and her eyes fluttered as if troubled by a haunting dream. Suddenly, a scream escaped her lips.

"VEERRRR!!" She jolted awake, her heart racing and her breaths coming in quick gasps, indicating she had just emerged from a terrifying nightmare. Her frantic gaze searched desperately for the one person who could bring her peace.

Her eyes landed on a familiar figure sprawled on the couch, eyes closed, facing the ceiling while dressed only in white pajamas. Blood poured from his bare, muscular chest, staining his tanned skin, the sofa, and the white floor around him a deep crimson. One of his hands dangled limply in the air, while the other held a cigarette, poised to drop from his fingers due to his weakened grip.

"Veer!!" Without a second thought, she leaped off the bed, rushing toward him. She fell to her knees on the floor and jerked the cigarette from his fingers, which had begun to burn him.

"V...Veer, what is...?" she stammered, cupping his face in his hands. But her words went uncompleted as she realized he was unconscious. Her hand instinctively reached for his nose and she stumbled backward, his face slipped from her grasp.

He wasn't breathing!
The stark reality of her nightmare gripped her, freezing her nerves. The thought of losing him forever-following the loss of everyone else-was too dreadful to contemplate, even in her darkest dreams.

Overwhelmed by an ominous feeling, fearing something terrible might happen, she leaped onto him, and tightly clunged his face with her chest.

"V...Veer, you can't do this! Please open your eyes, yell at me, slap me-do whatever you want! Please don't leave me!" Her desperate sobs broke through, choking her voice, but not a single tear fell.

Her eyes never blinked as her breaths grew heavier and her body started to tremble. She clutched to him fiercely, convinced that as long as she held onto him, he could never leave her.

She gripped his head tightly in her arms, but in the next moment, she suddenly pulled away, feeling his warm breath against her chest. Her hand searched for his pulse, and a hopeful smile crept onto her face when she felt it-his wrist was pounding.

"V...Veer, please don't give up! Dadi saaa, Daaduuu, Viaannnn!" She dashed to the door and threw it open urgently.

The moment they saw her, she clunged to Vijay ji. Everyone was taken aback by her state; the bravest girl they had ever known was drenched in sweat, shaking, and burning with fever, gasping for breath, her eyes wide with fear as she repeated her plea.

"Please use bachalo..Use bachalo!" She pointed back into the room but didn't shift her head from Vijay ji's embrace.

("Please save him...save him!")

Viaan and the others, except for Vijay ji, rushed into the room, their bodies jolting at the sight of him, drenched in blood. His sherwani lay torn on the floor. Wasting no time, Viaan, aided by Agastya and Rakesh ji, hurriedly carried him out of the Mahal.

Vijay ji tried to comfort Nia, but she had been into a panic attack once again just as she had after her father's death. He signaled to Sumitra ji and cradled Nia in her arms as they rushed toward the car outside.

Nia's car was right racing behind Veeransh's, yet she kept humming a single line, audible only to herself.
"Sab meri galti hai! Maine hi Veer ki yeh halat ki hai! Voh mujhe shod kar chala jayega...sab meri galti hai"
("This is all my fault! I did this to Veer! He'll leave me... This is all my fault, everything...")

As soon as their car screeched to a halt at the hospital entrance, Vijay ji rushed her inside. Everyone in the hospital stared in shock as they witnessed a girl in bridal attire, her forehead stained with blood, being carried by the esteemed Raghuvanshi. Speculation spread among the onlookers about her relationship to the family.

Veeransh was taken directly to the operating room while Nia was given a heavy dose of sedative to help her sleep.

The next morning...

11:00 AM

Everyone except Sandhya, Agastya, and Ridhima was anxiously waiting for the doctor to emerge from the operation ward.

Sumitra ji's eyes were puffy from a night of tears, and Ananya was in a comparable condition, adamantly declaring to everyone that she would remain by her brother's side until she could see him looking healthy once more.

In the meantime, Sunidhi had also been informed of the situation by Ridhima . She sat on a stool beside Nia's bed, where Nia was still asleep, still under the influence of the anesthesia.

As soon as the doctor emerged from the ICU ward, Ananya hurried over to him, bombarding him with questions.

"Doctor, how is my brother? Is he out of danger? Is there nothing to worry about right?"She asked all at once, prompting the doctor to wipe the sweat off his forehead with a handkerchief.

"Doctor! What happened?" Vijay ji's cold voice filled the doctor with dread.

"S-sir, at this moment we can't provide a definitive answer. Patient has lost a lot of his blood and he exactly got shot on his heart" The thrill silence swept everywhere as he continued further.

"The operation was successful and the patient is out of immediate danger, but...He hesitated, reluctant to finish his sentence as Sumitra ji's sharp voice cut through the tension.

"But?? Tell me, doctor, what's going on!" Sumitra ji confronted him, her intense gaze fixed on his face.

"But if he doesn't wake up in the next two hours, he might slip into coma!" This revelation shattered everyone's spirits and hopes. Rakesh supported Sumitra ji who had begun to tremble, while Vijay ji slumped into a chair.

Suddenly, a familiar scream shattered the silence, causing everyone to spin around. The chaos originated from Nia's room, where Sunidhi was desperately trying to restrain Nia. With a sudden burst of strength, Nia shoved Sunidhi aside, sending her tumbling onto the sofa. In a panic, she snatched a knife from a fruit basket on the table and aimed it threateningly at her own neck.

"Don't stop me, Mom! Or I won't hesitate to cut my own throat! Where is Veer? How is he?" She yelled, fury erupting from her.

Out of nowhere, someone wrapped their arms around her from behind, causing her to loosen her grip. The knife fell from her hand as she turned to find Ananya, tears flowing down her cheeks, clutching her close.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying, Ananya? Koi mujhe batayega Veer Kaisa haii!" Nia screamed, her voice filled with frustration.

"Okay, I'll find him myself!" she declared, bolting toward the exit, but her steps froze as she heard something she hadn't anticipated.

"Bhabi, if bhaiya doesn't regain consciousness in two hours, he could fall into a coma!" Ananya cried out, breaking down.

Nia felt a surge of anger, sorrow, guilt, and pain. Without a moment's pause ,she marched straight d toward the ICU, where Vijay ji sat, deep in contemplation.

She stormed through the doorway, her gaze fixated on him. Veeransh was sprawled on the bed, encircled by machines, mirroring her own previous plight. The vital distinction this time was that she was the cause of his condition, whereas he had once been her saviour.

With heavy steps, she moved closer and took a seat on the edge of the bed, near his feet.

Her expressionless eyes remained fixed on his face, briefly taking in his attractive features. Time seemed to stretch for nearly twenty-five minutes, yet her gaze remained locked on him the entire time.

"So, you're out of danger now, right?" Shattering through the stillness of the room, the echoes of her wicked laughter erupted.

"Zinda rehne ke liye thanks, patidev!" The unbearable agony concealed behind her fake laughter seeped through, manifesting itself as tears.

("Thanks for being alive, hubby!")

In a blink, she brushed away her tears and sprang to her feet with a sudden jolt.

"I'm sorry, Veer... but actually, I'm not!" The moment those words slipped from her lips, she felt a flutter of his fingertips but silently exited the room.

Her gaze shifted to her family, who appeared to have been anticipating her return. Before Sunidhi could approach her, Nia swiftly drew a gun from Chachiji’s waist, and without allowing anyone a chance to respond, she loaded it and fired a shot into the air.

Everyone looked at her in disbelief, their wide eyes absorbing her impassive expression, though they could sense a strange spark of anger in her eyes. Sunidhi remained motionless as Nia hurriedly left the hospital in her car, speeding away with Sameer.

"Nia..." Sameer quickly realized the danger and earned a piercing glare from her.
"Uh, sorry, I...I mean boss, where are you going in this condition?" At his words, Nia glanced at her reflection in the mirror.

She observed the vermilion in her hair, the slight stain of Veeransh's blood on her forehead, and her stunning crimson lehenga. Her gaze shifted down to the mangalsutra around her neck, and she ran her fingers over it.

As her Voice erupted in an halt to the car.

"Turn the car to the mall!" she commanded, and the vehicle took a sharp turn. Once they arrived, Nia changed into a designer red salwar kameez, leaving Sameer in shock. He had never seen her in traditional attire before, as he had been told that she didn't like wearing all this.

Snapping him out of his thoughts, Nia returned to the car, and he drove them to a club. Inside, her eyes searched for someone, and just as her fists clenched, she spotted him.

With fierce determination, she strode over to a figure at the counter, who was downing shots.

"Kya maal hai yaar! Ekdum ssssss... Hot!"
One of the boys in the group commented lustfully as she walked past them.

("What an item broo!! Just ssssss....Hottt")

Nia ignored them and approached the person she had been looking for.
"One for me too! Vodka..." she ordered as she sat down beside him.

His heart raced when their eyes met. In a frantic attempt to escape the impending doom, he backed away but collided with a solid figure-Sameer.

"Suna nahi kya boss ne kya kaha?"
Sameer said casually, wrapping an arm around the trembling man's neck as if they were old friends.

("Didn't you hear, what boss said?")

The man gulped hard, his hand shaking as he offered a shot to Nia.

*Shannnnn!*

"I didn't like your service, you didn't clean your hands!" she whispered coldly, letting the shot drop to the floor.

In an instant, she gestured to Sameer, and they made their way to a private room. Unaware of the consequences, the man silently prayed for his life as he heard Sameer lock the door behind them.

"I don't like to repeat myself, so I want an immediate answer! Who ordered you to shoot him in the chest?" Her icy voice signaled an imminent explosion.

"B-boss, he..." His hesitation vanished the moment the sound of her cocking her gun reached his ears.

"Please, boss, forgive me! I can't tell you... he will kill me!" He pleaded, dropping to his knees before her.

"So You think I brought this to play catch catch?" she replied sarcastically, raising her gun.

"Who?" Her tone was fierce and unwavering.

Her mind went blank upon hearing the name he uttered in order to confirm the information she just got she asked him once again, but failed to digest it.

"Enough of your tricks! Tell me the truth or..." she aimed her gun at his forehead and shouted

"B-boss, it's the only truth. Please believe me! He forced me to do it!" The person was almost on an edge of crying as panic took hold.

*BANG!*

Blood spilled from his chest as he looked at her in shock. The shot fired from the gun spiking through his body, which belonged to none other than NIA!

"Is it the same spot?" A smirk formed on her lips as she continued,
"I don't care who told you to do so, but no one should dare to harm my property, without my consent!"
The weight of her words filled the space, leaving Sameer in awe of her power.

As she decided to move out her steps extended towards that guy.
As he looked at here they gasped a seductive breath ,as one of the guy commented ,who was the same one commented her earlier.

"Are you mad, madam? With someone as spicy as you, it's not wise to come alone to a club at this hour! You might just become the target of someone's thirst!"
He laughed dismissively, giving a high five to his drunk friend.

"Badi fikar hai meri! Agar itni apni maa behen ki ki hoti toh aaj unhein yeh din na dekhna padta!"
She stepped closer to the individual, rubbing the tip of her gun on her temple, causing the guys to chock their drink.
(

"Why are you so worried about me? If you cared about your own mother or sister that much, they wouldn't be experiencing this day!")

While Sameer chuckled inwardly, sensing the worst consequences they had put themselves unknowingly.

"W..what do you mean?" The boy stammered, gaping at her gun, as a she smirked.

In an instant, the entire club's focus shifted to the sounds of their screams and the gunfire.

"Didi... please, I'm sorry! Forgive us... I promise I'll never go to a club again!" The person who had been commenting earlier now sought refuge behind the bar tables, joined by his friends who were hiding behind Sameer.

The source of their panic was Nia, who had started firing on at their legs, forcing them to leap here and there in fear. But she didn't shot any of them as her intention was solely to learn them a lesson.

Hospital...

Veeransh has recently regained consciousness, bringing joy to everyone around him as they got to know he was now out of danger. Sunidhi and Sumitra ji hurried to the hospital's temple area to express their gratitude as they got their son back. Just as they were exiting the temple, Sumitra ji spotted Nia with someone coming from the hospital.

Before she could approach Nia, she made her way into the ICU.

VEERANSH'S POV

Since the moment I opened my eyes, I felt an desperate desire to see her-only her. I inquired with Viaan, but he informed me that she had left without telling anyone. Still, I felt I understood her motives. Just then, the door to my room swung open, and there she was.

Nia... MY NIA. Happiness flooded me as I realized I could finally call her mine. An incredible sense of peace and satisfaction washed over me as I observed the vermilion of my name in her maang and the mangalsutra around her neck, a symbol of our bond. She bore the same intensity in her gaze as I did, but where my eyes reflected obsession, hers were filled with intense hatred.

A creepy smile formed on my lips as I sat up slowly. She approached me, and I sensed a whirl of thoughts in her mind; to my surprise, she leaned closer to my face.

When I felt her warm, enticing breath on my lips, my heart raced wildly in my chest. Her burning gaze met mine with an intensity that ignited an urge within me to drown in her passion, flushing my cheeks with heat.

And in the next sudden motion, My cheek flushed red as I felt sensation of scorching heat on my skin and I realised
She had Slapped me!

I do expected an angry reaction from her, but this was beyond my imagination. She slapped me? The Veeransh Raghuvanshi!

"I know everything, now would you like to explain it in your own words or..."

I knew precisely what she was referring to. After all, she was now Mrs. Nia Veeransh Raghuvanshi. I always knew that she would find out the truth soon, that the person who shot me, would be no longer breathing on this planet.

I couldn't help suppressing my laugh, as I burst up ,fully aware that it was pushing her to the edge of her patience. Finally, I spoke, rising off from the bed on my toes,
"I'm impressed! It didn't take you long at all!" I clapped mockingly as I stepped closer.

"Well, of course, I knew you didn't call those goons!" I began, circling her, watching her clench her fists. That was precisely my intention.

"But the whole plan was yours, Nia. You orchestrated the blast; you were the one who offered bucks of money to that shooter from your bank account just target me! Didn't you?"

"Just shut this..." she shouted, but I leaned closer, causing her words to falter.

"Shhhh! I've told you before that I don't appreciate raised voices." My finger traced her soft, plump lips before tracing down my way to her neck, my thumb caressed the pendant of her mangalsutra.

I could sense her shivering under my touch, but she no longer displayed the same effect from my touch that she used to when she danced with me at the club.
Which Fueled by frustration, I jerked her away, glaring at her furrowed brow.

"Are you going to tell me everything with your own mouth, or do you want another slap?" she crossed her arms over her chest, giving me a stern look.

"As if I would allow that!" I grasped her wrist tightly, locking eyes with her.

She tried to get free from my grip as I statement forze her.

"This is what you wanted, right? To see me in this hospital, or perhaps you desired for my death?"

"I apologize for any inconvenience, but I gave it my all! That's why I locked myself in the room-so no one could come to bring me here! Yet here I am!" I yelled, pulling my hand away from her grasp.

"I didn't ask you this, Veeransh! I want to know why you told everyone that I did this when it was your plan all along! Why did you instruct that person to shoot you in the chest when that was never my intention?"

I smirked at her question, walking over to the window table to prepare a drink that I had just ordered from Viaan.

"Because I wanted to prove you guilty in front of everyone, especially in front of Mom. If I hadn't set this all in motion, you could have easily divorced me after our marriage, and I couldn't allow that to happen before getting my revenge on you." I gulped down the entire drink in one go, collapsing onto the sofa.

"Revenge?" Confusion washed over her face.

"Yes, revenge... for the day you left me for good, without even knowing me my fault!" My grip tightened around the glass.

"Now you will be bound to me in this marriage forever! And with your own..."

"Wham!"

"Yeh mujhse zabardasti shaadi karne ke liye!"

She slapped me again, her eyes aflame. Before I could respond, she blurted out.

("You forced me into this marriage!")

Another sharp slap hit my other cheek, harder than the last.
"Yeh meri maa, sabhi gharwalon ke samne mujhe neecha dikhane ke liye!"
("In front of my mother and all my family, making me look guilty!")

And this time, with fierce intensity, she added, "And you put your own life in danger!"

Her last words left me astonished. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that the person who used to slice off an entire hand if someone even lay a finger on me, was now standing there, looking like a chastised child.

"I hate you, Mr. Veeransh Raghuvanshi! I hate you!"

"You've had your chance to show your fury! Now get ready to face MRS. NIA VEERANSH RAGHUVANSHI!"

"Ab jab main tumhari biwi hun, I promise, aisa badla lungi tumse ki dobara kisi ladki ki marzi ke khilaaf jane se pehle sau baar sochoge!"

("Now that I'm your wife, I promise you this, I will take such revenge that you'll think hundred times before going against any girl's will again!")

And I broke up, her words pierced my heart like a blazing knife.

"So this is what she think of me?"
