AUTHOR'S POV
Nia quickly departed from the scene, driving away in her car while Sameer shouted her name behind her.
She was speeding down the road, using the drive to release her pent-up frustration and anger. Lost in her emotions, her grip on the steering wheel tightened as she barreled past every obstacle in her way.
There were no tears or feelings of guilt in her eyes, just a triumphant smile fueled by deep-seated hatred and inner turmoil. Her expression revealed the satisfaction she felt regarding the events of the past few hours.
Her car screeched to a halt in front of an imposing, rundown door, overgrown with vines and plants. As she exited the vehicle, she slammed the door behind her with fierce intensity.
A sign nearby indicated the property’s status:
"OXEN WOODS AREA- this property has been sold to Singh Industries"
This place, a large abandoned lot in the jungle not far from Jaisalmer, was where she dashed inside through the door.
The area lay in ruins, cluttered with boxes, timber, and a small cottage a short distance away. It appeared to have once been a furniture factory, now reduced to a collection of derelict tools and debris.
Nia knelt beneath a towering peepal tree, her hands shielding her face as tears flowed freely. Her sobs resonated through the woods, creating a heart-wrenching atmosphere that stirred the birds and wildlife, all sensing the grief she carried within.
“Papa! I’m so happy... Today, your Nia has taken her first step towards revenge!” she declared, forcing a smile as she wiped her tears away.
“I promise you *sob* I will make them all weep blood... One by one *sob* I will reclaim what is rightfully mine!” she gritted her teeth, casting her fiery, red-eyed gaze upwards.
“I hate this family, Veera…” Though the words struggled to escape, she clenched her fists to complete the thought.
“…Veeransh Raghuvanshi aur woh insaan!" (And that person) Her voice expressed the deep, unrestrained hatred she had buried within her heart.
In the following moment, her anguished laughter echoed throughout the graveyard, tears still lingering in her eyes, her heart ablaze with a mix of joy and immense pain.
. . .
Nia, lying on the hood of her car with her eyes closed, jolted awake to the blaring horn of another vehicle.
Someone seized her wrist and yanked her to her feet. She looked up in fury, though that quickly transformed into a venomous smirk.
“Enough of your drama! Are you going to tell me what's going on? Dhobi ka kutta bana rakha hai! Tumse kuch pusho toh khaane ko daudti ho aur udhar jao toh tumhara woh sanki pati!" His irritation and fury were evident in his voice.
("You have turned me into your pawn. Anytime I ask you something, you threatens me ....and there's that Psycho husband of yours!")
“Sameer!!!” Nia shouted, gripping his collar.
Yes, it was Sameer Banerjee—her assistant, but more importantly, her best friend. He cared for her like a sister, which made his concern even more fair.
"Kya hua? Apne pati ke bare mein aisa sunke bura laga?" He shouted back with a sarcastic smile, jerking away her hands off his collar as she stared at him in disbelief.
("what's wrong? Did hearing this about your husband upset you?")
“No, you need to tell me what’s really going on here! If you love him, then why all this...?" He unleashed a torrent of questions swirling in his mind, but the mood shifted dramatically as Nia's voice rose in defiance.
"I never loved him!!! And don’t you dare say that shit out of your mouth again!" Her words struck Sameer deeply, but this time he was determined to voice his concerns rather than swallowing them, as he often did.
He sought answers; he couldn't bear to watch her become heartless. After all, it had been around three years since he started working with her, and he shared a bond similar to Ayaan and Sunidhi. Following Nia and her family, he might have been the only one devastated by Abhijeet's tragic end—whether by suicide or murder. He understood all too well that whatever Nia was doing to torment Veeransh and his family was not just about her forced marriage.
“No! You’re lying, Nia!” If that’s the case, then why were you crying for him like a madwoman in the hospital? Why didn’t you shoot him on the bridge that day when you had the chance? And why does your thirst for revenge seem to wane every time he is mentioned? Why?” Each of his questions pushed her closer to her breaking point, until she finally exploded.
“Because I want to make him and his family suffer a fate worse than death! I want to torment him every single moment, making him pay for every pain they inflicted on me! I want my revenge!” Nia yelled.
“So was all that crying, the panic attacks, just an act? Just because he forced you into marriage?” Sameer asked, a mix of confusion and suspense written on his face.
Feeling his gaze on her, she tried to deflect the question by reaching for the car door, but Sameer spun her around by her arm. To his astonishment, she grabbed his throat and pushed him against the wall, leaving him gasping for breath.
“Apni hadd mein raho, Sameer Banerjee!” she warned, her grip tightening. “Warna!” Her jaw was set in determination.
("Stay in your limits , Sameer Banerjee! Or else")
Sameer was taken aback. The Nia he knew had never resorted to lay a hand on him, yet here she was, threatening him. She was no longer the same person he recognized. Today, he saw the fierce spirit of Veeransh in her, the same fire he had witnessed at the wedding.
“Or else? You’ll kill me? Go ahead, finish me off. After all, you’ve already forgotten every relationship!” he retorted sarcastically, only to be surprised when she smiled and released her grip on him, before he could open his mouth her words silent him.
“So you think I did all this just because he tricked me into marriage?” She laughed and clapped her hands, leaving Sameer stunned.
"Huh..huh..wait tum sab log sach mein kitne bhole ho! Muje nahin pata tha ki tum itne bewakoof nikloge!"
(“Wait, are you all really so foolish? I never thought you could be this naïve!”)
"Paheliyan mat bujhwao Nia, what are you trying to say?” He replied in strict tome.
(Nia , stop Playing ths riddles game.)
“Oh, Sameer! Let me explain!”
"Tum sab ko lagta hai ki Veeransh ne Zabardasti mujhse yeh shaadi ki? Galat! Agar iss shaadi mein sabse zyada koi khush tha toh woh main thi!"
(“You all believe that Veeransh forced me into marriage? That’s wrong! If anyone was truly happy about this marriage, it was me!”)
Every word she uttered felt like a mini heart attack for Sameer, who blinked in astonishment, struggling to wrap his head around her declarations when she dropped another bombshell.
"Yeh Shaadi bhale hi maine apni marzi se ki, lekin karne ke pishe ka maksad zarur badla hi tha!"
(“Even though this marriage was my choice, the true motive behind getting married is definitely to take my revenge!”)
"K...kaisa badla?" Sameer stammered in bewilderment.
"None of your business!"
With that, she opened the car door and, within moments, her Mercedes sped away, disappearing from view.
But Sameer's last question was still bothering her.
Was that all just an act?? But why??

VEERANSH'S POV
Her words had the power to thaw even the hardest stone. For the first time, I sensed a genuine hatred in her voice, leaving me speechless. What struck me to my very core was that this emotion was directed at me.
She was gone.
I had never seen such disgust in her eyes while speaking to me, not even on the day she left years ago when she uttered those hurtful words. Yet her tears told a different story. Today, I felt I had lost even the slightest glimmer of hope for us. Though Viaan's comforting words may have been intended to console me, the concern I glimpsed in her eyes on our wedding day had instilled a faintest glimmer of hope in my disheartened soul—that perhaps, one day, she might feel the same way about me as I do about her. I don’t believe calling it love would do justice to her significance in my life.
I had enough strength to endure this emotional blow, as it wasn’t the first time I had experienced such pain. This time, though, my knees felt weak and lifeless, and I stumbled before someone caught me and helped me sit on the bed.
When I looked up, I saw it was Viaan. His eyes were slightly moist as he tried to hide his feelings from me.
"Arre Sambhal ke...abhi coma mein jaate jaate bacha hai, toh jyada udne ki jarurat nahin hai samjha!"
("Be careful... you were about to slip into a coma, so there's no need to overexert yourself, okay?")
My face remained expressionless; I acted as if I hadn’t heard him. My body felt lifeless, my mind was plagued with questions, and my heart—she had taken it the moment I first laid eyes on her.
AUTHOR' POV
"Tune suna woh k..kya boli?"
("Did you hear what she said?")
"Veer, just let it go. Look what I brought for you... a brand new bottle of whiskey!" He pulled a chair next to my bed and sat down.
"How could she even think that the person who had happily distanced himself at her single request, might go to such lengths for revenge over such a trivial matter?" He remained lost in thought, his gaze fixed on the door of the room, not blinking even once.
“Veer, you know this is the most expensive version of this…" Viaan exclaimed excitedly as he poured a drink into a glass, but his attempt to distract him was abruptly interrupted when Veeransh exploded.
"What are you doing, man?! Do you find this all a joke?" He shouted at him, throwing the bottle onto the floor.
Viaan had been trying hard to divert his thoughts away from Nia after hearing their entire conversation, but his patience wore thin as he responded, jolting Veeransh from his shoulders.
"What’s wrong with you man! Aur ab tumhein bura kyun lag raha hai, jabki Humein pehle hi pata tha ki aisa hi kuch hoga" His voice was raised but laced with concern.
("And why do you feel bad now? We already knew something like this would happen!”)
Veeransh fell silent at these words, he knew they were true. He had anticipated this—he was well aware of her temper that she was not the kind of person who would let anyone dictate terms to her life.
"Now say something! And if you can’t handle her hatred, why not just tell her the truth? That why you wanted this marriage because she’ll only believe what you tell her... Okay, I will explain it to her myself!" he shouted seriously while moving toward the room, but just then, Veeransh gave a sharp order.
"You will not tell her anything, Viaan!" His cold authoritative voice halted Viaan mid-step.
"But why... I can’t bear to see you like this!" Once again tears caught moisture in his eyes as he turned back.
"Uske bina rehna toh seekh hi chuka tha, Ab uski nafrat ke sath Rehna bhi seekh lunga....par sach sun ne ke baad woh chup nahi baithegi Viaan! Aur ismein usi ki jaan ko khatra hai!"
("I’ve learned to live without her; now I can manage even with her hatred... but if she hears the truth, she won’t just stay quiet, and it could put her life in danger!")
"Lekin iss nafrat ke chalte kahin tum dono khudse itne door na ho jana ki kabhi mil hi na pao Veeransh. Jis tarah usne is baar tumpar goli.."
("But in the wake of this hatred, make sure that you both don’t drift so far apart that you can never find your way back to each other. Just as she nearly shot you this time...")
"Woh mere paas kabhi thi hi nahi, toh mujhse door kaise jayegi....aur rahi baat meri jaan ki toh yeh dhadkan bhi toh usi ki den hai, agar rok bhi de toh koi gum nahi!"
("She never truly belonged to me, so how could she be far away from me... and as for my life, this heartbeat belongs to her anyway. If she tries to stop it, I won’t mind!")
The pain and disdain in his voice were evident, even as he spoke with a bittersweet smile.
However, there was someone outside the room who had overheard their entire conversation through the slightly ajar door, and after wiping away their tears, they left the area.
