All Lily Evans wanted was to do was have a normal day, without Potter asking her out. It was quite embarrassing, actually. Having to turn down the same person once, or some days (most days) multiple times.

     "Hey Evans! Evans!" Potter shouted, jogging to catch up with Marlene, Alice, and I.

     "Maybe start by calling her by her first name." Marlene mumbled under her breath. I glared at her, before turning to Ja- Potter.

     "Whatever you are going to ask me, the answer is no."

     "But I didn-"

     "I'm not going out with you Potter. I'm not bloody interested!" His smile faltered a bit, I would have missed it if I wasn't paying attention.

"Okay, Lily. I'll stop asking." I was genuinely surprised. And he was true to his word.

For the next three months he didn't ask me once to go out with him. He smiled at me from across the common room, or in the Great Hall, but never once asked me to go to Hogsmede. And to be honest I missed it a bit.

Damn, Alice was right. I do like Potter a bit. Only a little though, okay?

"Today we will be practicing the Patronus charm. You will be working in partners. Mr. Black, Mr. Lupin. Miss McKinnon, Mr. Pettigrew. Miss Evans, Mr. Potter." Professor Flitwick continued to talk, but all I could think was of everyone to pair me with, it had to be Potter?
"Go find your partner and begin working."

I went over to James' desk and sat down. Sirius has moved to a different spot

"The indication was Expexto Patronum, right?" He asked

"Yeah, it is"

     "Expecto Patronum!" I said, but only wisps came out of my wand. I was thinking of my very first day at Hogwarts with Alice and Marlene. We stayed up really late and had a ton of fun that night.

    James tried the charm as well, but he only got wisps too. Nobody was able to get it completely. Class was almost over and I was putting some stuff into my bag when I blurted something out

     "Hey, James. Do you want to go to Hogsmede with me this weekend?" My eyes went wide a bit and my cheeks felt warm.

     "Is this some joke?"

    "No," Class ended and everyone was leaving. "I'll be at the Three Broomsticks if you want to join me."

     I sat at a table at the Three Broomsticks, waiting for a few minutes. James came in shortly after.

    "Hi Lily!" He had a big smile on his face and it looked like he had attempted to tame his hair a bit. I glanced out the door and I saw his three friends standing out there. They saw that I had seen them and quickly turned and walked away

    "Hey James."

     The next charms class I was able to completely do the charm. It was a Doe. James has a Stag, I think. I had thought of the weekend in Hogsmede. We had gotten Butterbeer at the three broomsticks and then walked around in the snow. I had thrown a snowball at the back of his head. He started chasing me and we had a snowball fight. It was amazing.
Tomorrow we are studying together in the library. I feel like this might be the start of something good.
