MCKENNA LEWIS had always wanted to travel the world ever since she was little. But when you grow up in a small town, dreams of traveling tend to die. And it was especially hard when she didn't have the money to make those dreams happen. She would often find herself staring at the maps of the various continents and countries with her fingers running across the colorful borders, feeling the ridges of where they had been glued to the paper. But then, just like any other map she had, the edges began to peel. The colors faded as the paper yellowed. The memories of her dreams died as the paper crumbled and eventually disintegrated. Until one day she finally got her dream come true.

Mckenna never thought she would be reunited with her childhood best friend on this ship. Jack Dawson. They had been inseparable since they were babies, they grew up together and had been best friends since then. Until her parents moved them away. She had left behind her best friend in her heart and her memory. She didn't know how much she was going to see him until the moment they ran into each other in the hallway, literally. They were quick to catch up on things and it was like nothing had changed. Like no time had passed between them. It was somewhat as if they had picked up right where they had left off.

Maps were something Mckenna took comfort in. They gave her security and the ability to escape to places she couldn't reach otherwise. They were a guide. A map could take her anywhere she wanted to go, and sometimes even somewhere she hadn't known she needed to be. They guided her to the RMS Titanic and somehow, through an unlikely turn of events, brought her and Jack together. But now, she didn't need maps to guide her. 

Because the one thing that had been missing from her life was back. Her best friend. And just like maps, he guided her to somewhere she didn't realize she needed to be. To where she had longed to go, where her heart always had been all along. And that was with him.
