CHAPTER TEN, the iceberg

April 14, 1912

Everything was calm and perfect until they suddenly felt the ship shudder and then the whole room seemed to shake. Mckenna and Jack had fallen asleep, cuddled up in her bed when they woke up, their eyes widening and they were filled with shock and confusion. "Jackie, what was that?" Mckenna asked in a small voice, her body shaking slightly. She had no idea what was going on, but fear ran through her veins. Something was definitely wrong though, and she had a feeling it was something serious.

Jack looks equally alarmed. "I don't know. It must be something to do with the ship." He murmurs, getting out of bed and grabbing his shoes. "Let's go see what's happening." He could feel the panic rise within him as his grip tightened on her once they both got up. They rushed up to the top deck where they saw people looking over the railing and worried chatter was in the air. They shared a concerned glance and looked around worriedly. Then they noticed an ice berg, not too far from them and their eyes widened.

"Oh no!" Mckenna gasps, her grip tightening on Jack's arm. She could feel the terror rise up within her, and her heart was pounding in her chest. She could barely hear her own thoughts, the fear and anxiety overwhelming her. She had never experienced anything like this before, and she was scared out of her mind. She tried to calm herself down, taking deep breaths and reminding herself that Jack was there with her. She tried to focus on his presence, letting it ground her and anchor her. She turned her head to look at him and saw the same fear in his eyes. She leans into his warm, comforting embrace as he pulled her closer to him. "Jackie, what's going to happen?"

Jack swallows nervously. "I'm not sure, princess. But we need to be prepared for the worst." He murmurs, his gaze hardening. He knew he had to protect her, no matter what. He would do whatever it took to keep her safe. He held her close, his hands gripping her arms. "Listen, whatever happens, I'll be right here with you. I promise I won't let anything happen to you." His voice was firm and reassuring, and his eyes were filled with determination.

Mckenna felt some of her fear melt away, and she nodded, her lips curling into a small smile. She felt a sense of security, knowing that Jack was there with her. She knew that she could trust him, and that gave her comfort. She was still scared, but she was able to remain calm. "Same goes to you, baby."

As the ship went by the ice berg, some of the iceberg fell off onto the ship. Parts of the iceberg fell near the couple, causing Jack to quickly pull Mckenna into his arms, protecting her from the falling ice. His grip on her tightens and his heart was racing. Some men who had been standing too close had been knocked down as they watched with wide eyes while they went past the iceberg. Mckenna never saw one in person before, only pictures. The reality was even more shocking and terrifying than she could have imagined. She followed Jack over to the trailing to check out the damage.

"It doesn't look too bad. Maybe it's not a big deal." Mckenna murmured hopefully.

"I don't know. That must have hit us pretty hard. Let's just hope for the best." Jack replied, his voice uncertain.

The two continued to watch, their bodies tense and their hearts pounding. They were both trying to stay calm, but the situation was too nerve-wracking for them. She then noticed David and Rose nearby, they were looking over the side of the ship at the ice berg. They were obviously as worried as everyone else.

"David!" She calls out and both of them turned around to look at her. She was relieved to see that her brother and Rose were alright. She went over to him, tugging Jack with her. "Do you know if the ice berg hit us?"

"I'm afraid it did." David frowned, his arm wrapping around Rose's waist. Rose leaned into his warm embrace, wrapping her arm around his waist as she looked around worriedly.

"How bad is it?" Jack asked, looking at David with a worried expression.

"I'm not sure. I think the damage is pretty severe." David answered, his expression grim. He was trying to remain calm, but it was obvious he was concerned. The group had decided to go to the upper deck and David and Rose led the way up the stairs. On the upper deck, Mckenna noticed some people playing around with one of the broken pieces from the ice berg. If she didn't know they were in danger, she would've laughed.

"Boiler room six is flooded eight feet above the plate, and the mail hold is worse. She's all buckled in the forward hall."

They overhead a group of men walking by who were in charge of working on the ship, talking about the damage. They had noticed Thomas Andrews was amongst the group. "Can you shore up?" One man asked.

"Not unless the pumps get ahead." Another man answered.

"Have you seen the damage in the mail hold?" Thomas questioned.

"No, she's already underwater." The first man replied while they walked down the steps.

"This is bad." Jack muttered. He couldn't believe this was happening. He looked over at Mckenna and saw the worry in her eyes. He squeezed her hand, trying to reassure her.

"We should tell mother and Cal." Rose suggested. She knows she needed to tell them, but she didn't want to go alone. She was nervous and scared.

"Okay, let's go." David agreed, kissing the side of her head before he followed her along with Jack and Mckenna.

"Just keep ahold of my hand." Rose whispered to David as they got back to the suite with Jack and Mckenna behind them.

Spicer was standing in the hallway, raising his eyebrows at Rose. "We've been looking for you, miss." He smiled a little and he followed them down the hallway to the room. Jack and Mckenna shared a wide eyed look when they watched Spicer put 'The Heart of The Sea' into David's pocket. They have heard of it before and Rose had even explained to them it had been a gift for her from Cal, but she never really liked it. They were surprised and confused as to why Spider put the necklace in David's pocket. They figured he had a plan and it wasn't anything good.

The group walks into the room to find Rose's mother and Cal there along with a crew member. "Something serious has happened." Rose started.

"Yes, it has." Cal burns out the cigarette he was smoking and gets up, walking over to the group. Mckenna notices the look he gave Spicer, who raised his eyebrows and gave him a small nod in response. She narrows her eyes at Cal, her gut telling her something was definitely going on. "Indeed. Two things dear to me have disappeared this evening. Now that one is back, I have a pretty good idea where to find the other." Cal glances at David with a glare. "Search him."

David furrows his eyebrows in confusion. "What the h***are you talking about? I haven't stolen anything." He couldn't believe Cal was accusing him of stealing. He reluctantly pulled his hand away from Rose as his jacket was taken off and he was searched. "I would never steal from anyone, especially Rose. I love her." He protested.

"Love her? You have some nerve. I'm her fiancé." Cal glares at Rose. "Now you've been having an affair with him. What, did you think I wouldn't find out?"

"Cal, we're done." Rose shakes her head. She had enough of him and the fact that he had accused David of stealing. She knew David. She knew he wouldn't do that. "We are not together. We were never together. This engagement is over."

Cal's gaze hardens as he turns to glare at David. "I didn't steal from you." David continues, annoyed as they search his pockets. "You're being paranoid. This is ridiculous."

"Wait, isn't that invasion of privacy? You can't do that." Mckenna protested, pulling away from Jack to step forward with a glare. She was frustrated and angry. She was deeply unsettled by the unfolding chaos and Cal's unjust accusations. Her heart raced as she tried to process the dire situation and the tension among them. She wanted nothing more than to protect her brother and help him out. She was ready to put her foot down and fight back against the unfair treatment of her brother. She was determined to stand her ground and defend her brother no matter what.

"I believe that is a reasonable search, young lady. And if you would like, I'll have Spicer search you. After all, you two are related so I wouldn't be surprised if you two are working together." Cal raises his eyebrows, giving her a cold smirk. "After all, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?"

"How dare you!" Jack steps forward, glaring at him. He was furious and protective of his girlfriend. He hated the way Cal was speaking to her and the implication that she could be a thief. He clenched his jaw, trying to control his anger. He didn't want to make the situation any worse, but he couldn't help it. "Mckenna isn't a thief and neither is David!"

"Jack, please." Mckenna whispers, placing a hand on his arm to try to calm him down. She was touched by his defense, but she didn't want him to get involved. She didn't want him to end up in trouble. "It's okay. We'll be okay." She tried to reassure him, squeezing his arm lightly.

"Ah, it seems like I'm right. You two are working together." Cal nods. He looks over at Spicer. "Search her. I know she's hiding something."

Cal just gave her a look. He motioned for Spicer to search her and she stepped back, slapping his hand away as Jack stood in front of her and pushed him back.

"Hey! Back off." Jack warned, his eyes narrowing.

"Cal, what are you doing? We're in the middle of an emergency. What's going on?" Rose inquired, staring at Cal with disbelief.

"Is this it?" Suddenly the necklace was pulled out of the jacket David had on, causing David and Rose to stare at it with shock.

"That's it." Cal replied, taking the necklace from the man who found it.

"I don't know how that got in there, I didn't take it! I would never do that." David explained, staring at the necklace with wide eyes. He was so shocked and confused. He had no idea how it got in his pocket.

"He's right," Mckenna agrees. "Jack and I saw Spicer put it in there." She said, glaring at Cal.

"You have no proof he did that." Cal scoffed.

"I was with him the whole time, this is absurd." Rose said, staring at Cal with anger.

"Perhaps he did it when he put your clothes back on, dear." Cal murmured, causing the two to freeze. He stood there, a smug look on his face as he continued to stare at David and Rose. The tension in the room was palpable, and it felt like everything was spiraling out of control.

David looked behind him at the man who was putting handcuffs on him, his heart beating faster. He felt his throat closing up as his anxiety rose. His mind was racing, and he felt like he couldn't breathe. This wasn't real. It couldn't be. He looks back at Cal with a harsh look, then glances at Rose, his face softening. He hoped he could convince her, that she believed him. "Rose, he had someone put it in my pocket. I would never steal. I would never lie to you." David told her desperately. He was pleading with her, his eyes showing his honesty.

Rose looks between Cal and David, her heart breaking. She couldn't believe what was happening. Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts, and she didn't know what to believe. She wanted to believe David, but there was a part of her that wasn't sure. She didn't know what to think anymore. "That's enough. Send him away." Cal cut him off, staring at David and then Rose.

"Wait, don't!" Mckenna tries to stop the men from pulling her handcuffed brother out of the room. "Stop, you have no real proof that he took it! Spicer put it in his pocket!"

"Rose, you know I didn't do it, right? Please, believe me." David pleaded, wanting her to believe he wasn't a thief. He didn't want her to hate him, or think badly of him. He loved her so much and he wanted her to know that. "Rose!" He shouted, struggling against the two men who were pulling him out of the room. Mckenna went after him, stopped by Jack who held her back.

"Jack, stop. They're taking my brother!" Mckenna cried out, her heart racing as she felt tears brim her eyes.

"There's nothing we can do." Jack muttered, his grip on her tightening. He was furious, but he couldn't do anything about it. He hated seeing Mckenna upset, but he knew there was nothing he could do.

"Rose! I love you!" David yells, trying to get Rose to understand the truth. "I didn't steal it, I promise!" He tries to plead with her, but she just stared at him, unable to move or speak. She was frozen. Her heart was breaking. David looked at her desperately, and his heart sank when he realized she didn't believe him. "You know I wouldn't do this, Rose! I love you!" He yelled, his voice breaking.

Mckenna stared at Rose in disbelief. She couldn't believe her friend had just stood there and done nothing. Her heart ached and she felt sick to her stomach. "Rose, how could you?" She asks, her voice filled with hurt. She couldn't understand how her friend could just stand there and let her brother be taken away. "It's so clear that he didn't do it. If you love him at all, you'd believe him and help him." She pulled herself out of Jack's grasp and stormed out of the room, ignoring Jack's concerned calls for her as he followed her.

"McKenna, wait!" Jack calls out worredly, running after her. He quickly caught up to her and grabs her arm. "Hey, are you okay?"

"No, I'm not okay." Mckenna replies, her voice breaking. "They arrested my brother for something he didn't do. Rose didn't even defend him, and they just took him." Tears ran down her cheeks as she stared up at him and wiped her tears away. She was angry and upset. She didn't want to cry, but she couldn't help it. "I don't even know where my parents are or if they're okay. And the ship hit an iceberg and could be sinking, and we could all die..." She continued to rant even while Jack pulled her into his arms, holding her close.

"Shhh, it's okay." Jack murmurs, rubbing her back soothingly. He felt horrible that she was upset and worried about her family. He held her close, his fingers threading through her hair. "It's gonna be okay, baby. We'll get through this."

Mckenna's tears subsided while she rested her head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. It was comforting, and it helped her feel calmer. Commotion can be heard around them, and people were beginning to panic, but Jack was still able to stay calm and grounded. He held her close, whispering soothing words to her and kissing the top of her head. Despite being afraid himself, he was trying his best to remain strong for her. He knew that she needed him to be her rock, and he was determined to be that for her.

"Are you okay now?" Jack asked quietly, his fingers gently brushing against her cheek after she had calmed down from crying.

"As okay as I can be." She sniffles, pulling back to wipe her tears. She takes a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. She was still worried and upset, but she was feeling better now. "Thank you for helping me, Jack. I'm sorry I got so emotional and angry. What are we going to do?" She asked.

"I'm not sure. But I promise, we'll get through this together. We'll figure something out." Jack tells her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "We'll save your brother. I promise." He mumbled, his heart breaking for her. He would do anything for her, and he hated seeing her like this. He wanted to make her feel better, but he didn't know how.

"Thank you." Mckenna mumbles, taking deep breaths as she tried to calm herself down. She was so thankful to have him in her life. She didn't know what she would do without him. "I love you." She said softly, her arms tightening around him.

"I love you too." Jack whispered, his arms tightening around her. They stayed like that for a while, comforting each other as best they could. It wasn't much, but it was enough.

After a few minutes, Mckenna pulls away and wiped her tears away, sniffling a little. Her cries had finally stopped, but she was still upset and angry. She had no idea what to do, and she felt completely helpless. She hated feeling helpless. "Let's go find David before things get worse." She told him, her voice wavering.

"Alright, let's go." Jack nodded, taking her hand and leading her out of the room. They quickly made their way through the ship, frantically searching for where David might be kept. They ran past crew members who were telling people to put lifebelts on and head to the deck and people running to the deck, but they were focused on finding her brother.

Suddenly they ran into someone else only to realize it was Rose. She had been looking for David too. She had left her chance to get on a lifeboat to find the man she truly loved. She gasps as she saw who she ran into. "Mckenna, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, please forgive me. I didn't know what to say." Rose apologizes, her heart aching. "Everything was happening so fast, I didn't know what to say. I really do love him and I didn't mean to hurt him. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She rambled, her eyes filled with regret.

Mckenna sighs with relief and pulls her into a hug, not being able to be mad at her for long. "It's okay. Just, help us find him." She told her.

Rose nods. "I ran into Mr. Andrews, he told me where the Master of Arms take people that are arrested. Come with me!" Rose ushered, continuing to run down the hallway, glancing over her shoulder to make sure the couple were following her. Mckenna shared a worried look with Jack before they ran after Rose. They rushed down the hallways and past the grand staircase over to where one of the elevators were. But a man was there, blocking the entrance and telling some people nearby that the lifts were closed. The man had stopped Rose before she could rush in.

"I'm sorry, Miss, but the lifts are closed."

Rose stares at him, breathing heavily before she pushed the man into the lift, surprising Mckenna and Jack but they didn't hesitate to follow her. "I'm through being polite!" Rose curses, shoving him against the wall. She pulls away, pointing at the lever and demands, "Now take us down!" The man stared at her with shock and was quick to listen to her, pulling the lever.

Mckenna and Jack were surprised by Rose's actions, but they couldn't help but admire her strength and determination. "E deck." Rose explained, pulling the door closed. The group is met with a shock when they got to E deck. Ice cold water floods the elevator, causing the girls to let out a surprised scream and Jack gasped, his grip tightening on Mckenna's hand. "I'm going back up." The man muttered and went to push the lever up.

"No! No! No!" Rose shouted, going over to him to push him away. She pulled the door open and stepped out into the hallway with Mckenna and Jack following her.

"Oh my gosh." Mckenna breathes out, her eyes widening at the sight and how cold the water was. The water was already at their ankles and was slowly getting higher. She shivers at the sudden cold, clinging to Jack. "Wow, that's cold."

"Yeah, no kidding." Jack agreed, wrapping his arms around her. He was just as shocked and surprised by the sight, and he didn't know how they were going to get out of this situation. But he was determined to try his best.

"Come back! I'm going back up!" The man calls out after the group didn't listen to him. "I'm going back up!" He pulled the lever up while the trio tried to figure out where they needed to go.

"Rose, where did Mr. Andrews say he was?" Mckenna breathed out, squeezing Jack's hand as they walked through the water. She was nervous and worried. She hoped they could find David and get him out in time.

"Crew passage." Rose replies, looking around the area frantically. She felt relief when she noticed a 'crew only' sign above an entrance to a hallway. "Crew passage." She trudged through the water into the hallway, leading the couple through it. Along the way, they had to lift some furniture out of the way. In the crew passage, the lights were flickering and the water was now up to their knees. Turning around a corner, the trio panted as they tried to catch their breath and looked both ways. It just looked the same. Furniture and other items had floated out of the rooms.

"Where do we go?" Mckenna asked, her voice frantic as she looked around. She couldn't believe what was happening. How could this ship sink? Titanic was supposed to be an unsinkable ship. It was impossible. But the freezing water that surrounded her made it seem very real.

"I'm not exactly sure which room he's in. Just start calling for him, hopefully he can hear us. I'll go check this way, you two check the other." Rose answered nervously, walking towards the left while calling for David. Mckenna and Jack nodded in response, turning around and began quickly walking down the right hallway, yelling for David.

"Mckenna!"

Mckenna felt a bit of relief when she heard David's voice, but also a lot more worry. "David! David, where are you?" She shouted, continuing to walk forward. Rose had turned around when she heard David's voice, letting out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. She quickly started walking over to the other side where Mckenna and Jack were.

"I'm in here!" David called out and the clanging of metal against metal could be heard. The three shared a look and rushed down the hallway to follow the noise. They came to a door that was partially open and Mckenna was quick to push it open. David was beyond relieved to see his sister, Jack, and Rose rush into the room. He was currently standing on a desk to get out of the water that was filling the room, handcuffed to a pipe.

"David! I'm sorry." Rose cries out, rushing over to him as she apologized profusely. "I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. I'm sorry. I love you so much, I do. I just..Everything happened so fast and I didn't know what to do and it's just...everything's crazy."

"It's okay. I forgive you. I love you too. You're here now, that's all that matters." David assured her, pulling away slightly to press his lips against hers. She leaned into him, kissing him back.

"Okay, now isn't the time to be making out. We need to get out of here." Jack cut them off, snapping the couple out of their moment. While he felt bad for ruining their moment, he knew they needed to get out of there. The water was already rising and they were running out of time.

"We need to find a spare key for the handcuffs." Mckenna had been looking for a spare key as David and Rose kissed, but hadn't found anything. "There has to be a spare somewhere, right?"

"I'm not sure, there should be though. It's a little silver one." David explains, glancing around the room. He hadn't seen any spare keys laying around and it made him nervous. "It's got to be somewhere."

"Why are there only brass ones?" Mckenna grumbled, starting to get frustrated as she looked through the keys in the cabinet.

"Check the desk also." David adds and Rose nods, quickly going over to the desk and pulling out the drawer to look. "Rose," He said, gaining her attention and she glances over at him. "How did you find out that I didn't take it?"

"I didn't. I just realized I already knew." Rose admitted. David stared at her with love and adoration. He was so glad he had her in his life.

"Rose, find anything in there?" Mckenna asked, causing Rose to snap out of her daze. She had been blushing as she noticed the look David had, but she then quickly went back to searching the desk.

"No, key. There's no key!" She frowned, looking back at David.

"Rose, go find some help. Jack and I will keep looking for a key." Mckenna decided, turning away from the cabinet and walked over to Jack, who had been searching through some crates.

"Okay." Rose nodded and went to leave the room. But she quickly went back to David, pulling him in for a sweet kiss before she left. He kissed her back, smiling into the kiss.

"I love you." He told her when they pulled apart.

"I love you too. Be right back." Rose promised as she pulled away and headed out of the room. As soon as she was out of sight, Mckenna rushed over to David and hugged him. She was so relieved that he was alright. She had let the couple have their moment, but she had wanted to hug her brother so badly.

"Hey, it's alright. I'm okay." David assured her, leaning into her embrace.

"I was so scared, David. I thought I had lost you." Mckenna muttered, holding onto him tightly.

"You can't lose me that easily." David tries to joke to lighten the mood, but Mckenna glared at him. Now was not the time for jokes. He sighs, leaning into her touch. "I'm sorry. I'm okay, though. We're going to get out of this, I promise."

"I hope so." Mckenna sighs, pulling away from the hug. She glances over at Jack with a deep breath. "Now let's find that key. I'm sure Rose will come back with some help soon." Jack nodded sending her a small smile and they went back to searching for the key. The water kept rising, the lights continued flickering. They could faintly hear the metal of the ship creaking and breaking. They tried not to think about how terrified they were. They tried to ignore the panic growing inside them and kept looking for a key or something to get David out of the cuffs.

"David!" Rose breathless voice was heard a few minutes later as she pushed her way through the water, entering the room with an axe in her hand.

"Couldn't find any help?" Jack questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Everyone is too worried about themselves." Rose huffed, walking over to David.

"I guess it's a good thing you found an axe then." Mckenna comments, walking over to Jack. "Be careful, Rose."

"Take some practice swings." Jack suggests. "Don't want you to miss and take his arm off." He teased, earning a glare from the girl and a punch in the arm.

"Ha ha, very funny." David rolled his eyes even though his lips had curled up slightly in amusement. Rose nodded and took a few practice swings on the cabinet before she went over to David. David pulled his hands back the farthest he could with the cuffs, giving her room.

"Ready?" Rose asked him, her hand gripping the handle tightly and raising the axe while breathing shakily.

"Yes, you got it. I trust you." David assures her, sending her a reassuring smile. She takes a deep breath and brings the axe down on the chain connecting the handcuffs, successfully cutting through it and breaking the cuffs. Mckenna gasps along with Jack with surprise and relief as they smile. "You did it!" David cheered, his hands free of the cuffs. Well, he still had them on but now he could move his hands freely.

Rose smiles widely, proud of herself as well and she laughs in relief. She drops the axe and throws her arms around his neck. He wraps his arms around her, holding her tightly and he kisses her passionately. He was so happy and so glad she was there with him. He was so thankful that she was okay and had managed to find an axe to break him out of the cuffs.

"As much as I hate to interrupt this beautiful moment, this water is freezing cold and the unsinkable ship is sinking." Mckenna remarks, causing the couple to pull apart. She and Jack had moved to the door, pausing with leaving to make sure the other two would follow. "So can we please go?"

"Yeah, let's get out of here." Rose agreed, pulling away from David and he followed her to the door.

The group left the room and headed into the hallway. David was shocked with the state the hallway was in. The cold water was up to their waist now and it kept slowly getting higher. He was surprised by how freezing cold it was. He held onto Rose's hand as they made their way down the hall. They stopped when Rose stopped them. The way they were supposed to get out was blocked by water.

"This is the way out!" She said worriedly.

"We have to find another way." Jack suggests, his hand that was tightly in Mckenna's gently tugging her down the left hallway. "Come on."

The group nodded and rushed down the left hallway, searching for another way out. It was quiet as they moved through the ship, the sound of ship creaking and the metal breaking was the only thing heard. It was scary and they were all on edge. Jack and Mckenna were in front of David and Rose, leading the way. They eventually found a door, but it had been locked. Jack and David kept trying to push it open while Mckenna and Rose looked for something else they could try. But thankfully the door broke with the two men's strength. They stumbled into a hallway where passengers watched with surprise.

"What do you think you're doing?" A crew member demands as the two couples search for a way out. "You'll have to pay for that, you know. That's White Star Line property."

"Shut up!" The two couples shouted in unison, glancing back at the man with a glare. He stopped, startled by their sudden yell and glare. The group of four continued down the hallway, trying to find a way out.

They eventually make it to the entrance in the third class level to the upper level, but it was blocked up. Angry yelling could be heard as they got closer to the steps that went up to the closed door that was blocked by men. The two couples stared at the scene with wide eyes, their hearts pounding in their chests.

Suddenly a man came down from the steps, rushing over to them. "Jack!" The man shouted, seeming to be relieved to find his friend.

"Tommy!" Jack was relieved to see him as he sighs. "Can we get out?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"It's hopeless that way." Tommy told him.

"Whatever we do, we've got to do it fast." Jack responded urgently.

"Jack!"

Fabrizio pushes his way through the crowd over to him, smiling at seeing his friend. Mckenna smiles along with Jack, both relived to see him. "Fabrizio!" Jack smiled, pulling him into a hug.

"Fabri, I'm so happy you're okay." Mckenna hugged him next, sighing softly.

"I'm happy you two are alright." Fabrizio smiles as he hugs her back. "The boats are all going." he said worriedly when they pulled away.

"This whole place is flooding. We've gotta get out of here." Jack spoke.

"There is niente this way." Fabrizio pointed behind him and Jack nodded, glancing around for another way.

"Alright, let's go this way, alright? Come on!" Jack pointed to the right, ushering his friends to follow them.
