WRITING A STORY: Finished
Whew! Look how far we've come. We are officially in our first chapter where he unknowingly walks into the wrong restaurant. He could be so distracted with his GPS that he's following that he trusts it and doesn't look up. Others see him but are too stunned to react. He may not realize it, but the audience will. This helps build TENSION (oow, what's going to happen next!)
Try to end that first chapter on a 'dan dan dannnn' "Oh, shi--" and that'll make the reader eager to head to chapter TWO. It will also help you keep your story going. If you end the chapter neatly 'wrapped up,' you WILL get stuck! Also, when the problem is solved, the story is OVER so make sure you time it well. Everything he does to get out should get worse and worse.
Think of a story as a circle. Something mentioned in the beginning should help solve his problem at the end. Try to end where you started.
- Scenery at the start, scenery at the end
- Self-reflection at the beginning leads to growth and we end on that
- A question asked, through the course of the story, is answered.
This is as BASIC a story as you can get. Good luck!
