"Glad you could make it!" Duke greeted Max the next day in front of an old building on the outskirts of Brooklyn. Max smiled nervously as he informed the giant mutt, "I still have my doubts." Understanding the smaller dog's worries, Duke spoke reassuringly, "Don't fret, it'll be over before you know it." However, Max saw a glimmer of fear flash in his eyes. I should be at work... he thought quietly.

Padding into the building, the pair met up with an old English sheepdog. "Max, this is my boss Professor Cogsworth. Professor, this is Max," Duke settled the introductions. Extending his paw forward, Max mumbled, "It's nice to meet you sir." Taking his paw in his own, Cogsworth remarked, "I may have just met you but I think we're gonna be good friends." Smiling, he added, "Let's get started."
