Putting his hard earned cash in his pocket, Max walked home to his apartment in the dark of night. A cool breeze blew in from the east through the streets of downtown Manhattan. Shivering slightly, the Jack Russell terrier pulled the hood of his sweatshirt over his head. Just in time too, as the dark clouds hanging overhead opened up and a light rain began to fall upon the city below.

Picking up the pace a little, Max suddenly got the feeling that he was being watched. Worse, like he was being followed. Cautiously looking over his left shoulder, the small dog breathed a sigh of relief as he realized it was just his imagination playing tricks on his mind.

Turning around, Max immediately collided into something huge. Frightened, the small dog slowly raised his head to face one of the largest dogs he had ever met in his entire life...
